Went here after work happy hour on Thursday. The place is very big, much bigger than the one in Capital Hill. We enjoyed a few plates from Happy hour menu. For dinner, I tried Kobe beef burger but they were sort of over cooked and hard! I wouldn't order it again, but my hubby's roasted chicken was yummy. I really like this place when there are no games. It's a cool, gothic (kinda) bar with good beer. Elysian beer wasn't my favorite in the past, but they've come a long way and are producing some good stuff now. I was in a month ago, so my memory's a little fuzzy but I think I remember most of the details. Great place overall - good location and a great interior. Not a bad place to be before a Mariner's game - we stayed up to game time and it was never too crowded in the table section. Then again, that particular game set the Safeco Field record for lowest attendance. Awesome food. My brother enjoyed his Chipotle Chicken sandwich and I happily stole many of his fries (was there a sweet glaze on them?). I was floored by the fish (was it salmon with citrus/beurre blanc?) I ordered. The beer wasn't so great, though perhaps that's because I ordered beers that aren't up my alley - that's how compellingly they describe their brews. I had a Bifrost Winter Ale that seemed overdone to me, but maybe that was the point. The Avatar Jasmine IPA was certainly original, but I didn't care for it at all. read more

I really enjoy this place. I like how large and open it is compared to some of your other options down near the stadiums. They make good beer and it's reasonably priced. I haven't eaten anything more than happy hour plate but they're pretty solid and inexpensive. I'm more of a liquid diet kind of fan. Fantastic beer (of course) but the service is what makes this a 5-star establishment. My food was excellent (of course) but when the folks next to me stepped out for a minute, Brian (the bartender) took it upon himself to cover their meals with bowls so as to keep them warm while they were away. I attended the "Men's Room" tap the black party and was treated rudely upon arrival by the door personnel. We were asked if we were eating or not? Being the first time there we were not sure as to whether we were or not and decided yes we would eat there. The prices were a bit higher than I expected but were not too terribly high. Then since we were sat opposite of where the stage was, we stood along side our table to observe Thrill and the rest of the Men's room crew Only to be told we could not stand? There were no tables behind us and we all looked at each other like wt#? So we promptly finished and left. Went out to lunch with a bunch of co-workers and experienced a very "meh" lunch. I got the Jerk Chicken Sandwich which would have been good had it not been completely smothered in jalapenos. It was overpowering to the point that I felt like I was eating a jalapeno sandwhich. After I picked off half of them, the sandwhich wasn't bad, but didn't really wow me. The chicken was dry and super overcooked. I asked the waitress what was the most popular and she suggested the Jerk Chicken... hmm... And they were out of a ton of different beers. What's up with that man? We wen't at 1-1:30pm and it wasn't even a game day. We just went for drinks so I can't speak for the food. The beer was excellent with a good selection of styles on tap. Two of our group were more interested in cocktails and were very happy with their drinks. The staff was friendly, patient, and personable. It was late and quite slow at the time, usually a very telling situation about the service and, as I said, they really took care of us. I've gone for lunch once out of curiosity - the food was good, think I had a chicken sandwich. Great place to eat and drink before, and after a Seahawks or Sounders game. I wish they had more TVs though. They only have small TVs in the bar area, so if you're sitting in the restaurant area, you can barely see, much less hear anything. read more

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I walked into Elysian Fields with my pants soiled in piss. How that happened is not important. Let's just say drinking a ton of water and catching an impromtu Bob Saget tribute comedy street show is not ideal. What IS important is that our server, identified only as Matt S., Told me he had an extra pair of pants in his backpack. It turned out, Matt and I were the exact same size and he GAVE ME HIS PANTS! The food was great. The drinks and beer were amazing. But Matt S., is the reason to come to this place. Not because there is a game. I've never posted a Yelp review. But after the Seahawks game today I came here. After waiting in line for 10 minutes I came in and sat down at an open table outside. After about 5 minutes the bouncer came over to our group and told us we had to leave. No explanation. He didn't even know why. They kicked out a group of 8 and the reasons they gave us was because we "sat ourselves". Maybe get better door people to seat us and manage your tables or try to fix things before you abruptly kick 8 people put that were probably going to spend $100 per person. You would figure a good bar would try make things right first. read more

Was there on a busy game-day Sunday and was rooting for the opposing team. We decided to stop in for a drink and a bite to eat before going into the stadium. Only took us 20 minutes to be seated and the service was good. My husband got a Cuban and I got a chop salad and fries. DELICIOUS! I would go back just for the food alone. Customer service makes up for the food! Great employees all around. The host was extremely friendly and our server ,Sean, was great also. The $16 burger lacked flavor and was overdone, I expected more for the price. The fries were delicious as were the chicken strips off the kids menu, not dry at all. Elysian has pretty good beer. Namely, their IPAs. I love coming to this place before a game for brews. That being said, I wasn't too impressed with the food I ordered recently. (Except the fries, those were just right.) I excitedly ordered the hatch green chile stew because, being from the southwest, we're all about that stuff. It contained chunks of slow roasted pork, corn, stewed tomatoes, cilantro, and a white cheese/crema. It also came with a side of flour tortillas that I swapped for corn tortillas. When my order was brought out, they mistakenly gave me flour tortillas, but they quickly fixed their mistake and gave me corn ones. Unfortunately, neither of their tortillas are made in house and my Latinaness wants to say, with almost 100 percent certainty, that they're probably crappy store-bought, Mission brand tortillas. Come on, Elysian. You can do better than that. Make your own! And if you're serving them on the side, PLEASE... put them in a tortilla warmer so they don't get hard and gross. Onward to the stew itself: it was 2 out of 5 stars at best. The pork was dry and overcooked, and even though it was submerged with the juicy, warm green chiles, it was beyond saving. The overall flavor lacked spice and tbh, I've had canned stuff with more kick. But hey; maybe I'm just being too nit picky because I'm a Mexican American from West Texas and know what real southwest food should taste like. I've been bartending/serving in Seattle for 15 years - I just want to have a couple of (cheaper) beers and STANDARD food before I take my kids to a Mariners game....really, it's not that hard. I know these things... Shit, I'm reconsidering stadium food since my visit to elysian fields...... You were out of crab cakes, and about everything else (Because U2 played the night before, you were busy.... yes, we all see your location, do you?) So, you brought my sister her sandwich on mangled dried bread without goat cheese and with an unexcusable shred of dehydrated arugula laying limply on a tasteless portabello. Wow,boring menu to begin with, and destroyed by by shitty execution and ingredients. We sent it back on principal - I can make a crappy dry sandwich at home for free. REALLY. We got another, slightly better, thanks at least for that, but honestly no thanks ultimately. Yes, my son's lemonade (served in a pint glass, though his water was in plastic) slipped and shattered on the floor....it happens friend, seen it a million times..... However, you pretended to not see, not help, no towels to help wipe up the mess (which was pretty minimal exept for the broken glass under our feet). WE picked up the mess and finished our (shitty) meal with broken glass sitting on our table. Not a word, a shred of attention or anything more than a busboy that cleared the shards without a word. And we tipped your lame ass - why? because I work in this industry, and sometimes it sucks, I get it. But do me a favor prick, and kitchen....have some fucking integrity. Make some food worth eating and service worth .....well, something. I love your concept, I try, I do....but after multiple similar experiences....dating back to the 90s on Cap HIll, I just cant do elysian anymore. Elysian makes amazing beer. I particularly love going here because in addition to their staple beers, they always have new beers to try and I really like that. Brought our friend here straight from the UK to try the awesome Elysian beers.. We came here when it had first opened, nice atmosphere with soft Jazz playing. Unfortunately they seem to be catering to a different crowd now When we went a week ago the music was so loud we literally had to scream to hear each other from across the table. Then some type of a DJ in the bar with a ear splitting high voice started screaming obscenities into a mic so the entire restaurant could hear.. very inappropriate. We witnessed table after table get up and leave, and we were not far behind. I felt bad for the hostess and waitress who were very apologetic but said it was managements decision to allow this and there was nothing they could do. I said it must be unusual night because they were releasing a new beer... but she said no its always this loud... No thanks.. I'll stick to Tangletown or Capitol hill.. p.s. it was too loud to taste the food...$80 for a miserable experience.. 2 stars for good beer. read more

Went in on a Sounders game day after the game had started. Barely anyone inside except for about 15-20 people at the bar (tons of empty booths and tables). Took forever to order (waitress would give us "a minute" and not come back for 10), but food came quickly. Presentation was lackluster and sloppy, and the staff who presented it said nothing and acted rushed. We were never asked if we wanted more water. Food was decent, but could've had the same somewhere else for cheaper. We thanked the hosts as we walked out, but 2 of them were too deep in a conversation to even look at us as we left and the 3rd threw a flat "thanks" at us as we walked out the door. Overall, staff acted unprofessional and rude, and food could have been better. Would've been better off sticking to a street vendor. At least they seem to appreciate the business. read more

The food selection is small and not what you'd expect from a brewery. I ordered the steak sandwich and the steak was not rare but raw, it was even still cold in the middle and it was poorly seasoned. We stopped by here today with several friends after a Mariners game. We were celebrating our last weekend in the States prior to deployment. Our party, consisting of several navy doctors, arrived at 4 pm looking to meet up with several other officers from our ship. We went to the bar section and were informed that the second half of our party was unable to be seated because they were bringing children. We decided to move to the restaurant area to accommodate our arriving colleagues. We were seated after a brief discussion/argument as to whether the group that was meeting us could sit in the same section of the restaurant as us due to their policy of not reserving seating for partial groups. We thought this was comical because the restaurant was mostly empty. The emptiness was soon understood as the staff proved to be incredibly rude and childish. We were eventually seated and it appeared that the staff took exception with our confusion of whether or not we would be able to sit near our arriving colleagues in a near empty restaurant. While taking our initial pre-food orders they refused to serve our table alcohol. When we questioned this the waitress stated, "you guys are too drunk." We we're obviously offended (because none of us were drunk) and asked for clarification. This was met with rudeness as the staff responded, "you guys can leave." Never in any of our lives have we been treated with such disrespect. When I asked to speak to a manager for clarification, the manager Brian appeared and when he was questioned as to why this decision was made, and who in our party they were worried about, he just repeated "your friends are waiting outside for you." As someone who doesn't even drink and knew that no one in our party was drunk, this was illogical, disrespectful, and obviously not an answer to my question. Please avoid this restaurant as their staff and management does not know how to treat customers and does not care whether or not their owners make money or not as long as they feel "important." It is sad that this experience has soured all 16 of us on a beer that we used to enjoy. read more
