And a Seahawks bar on gameday. Lots of fans dressed to the hilt, face paint and all. I met a couple of friends for a drink or two and a bite to eat before the Seahawks game on Sunday. The bar is a few steps down from the sidewalk level and has plenty of tables, sports stories on the walls and lots of character. I had the breakfast burrito, my friends also had the burrito and the King Breakfast Bagel and a Breakfast Pizza (didn't know that was a thing!). The burrito and the bagel sandwich were rather small with the bagel sandwich having a small smattering of eggs on it. My friend had to order 2 to fill him up! The Breakfast Pizza was pretty good sized and had lots of toppings. The drinks were great with a full bar and the staff was super friendly and helpful. My brother and I were interested in watching the Thursday night football game and seeing Seattle social life. So what better way to kill two birds with one store than try a sports bar! We decided on "King Street Bar and Oven" because of the proximity to our hotel and it looked like a nice local dive. So we walked over and went in. There were only four people at first, so not much socializing. The music was incredible and that's the only compliment I will give. The waitress, really only favored the locals. We didn't get service right away. When we did my brother got drinks and I asked for a seltzer. I asked for no ice, like I normally do, but she gave it to me with ice. No biggie, hopefully she gets it right the next time. However next time would be over twenty minutes. When she finally took our order, we got corn dogs. She put down one napkin, the only one we would get, and she took back to conversations with the locals. When she finally remembered to bring them over, we ate them right away, I mean we were hungry. But they underperformed when it came to taste. We had to wait to put another order, but it may have been because a bunch of patrons came in. Once I flagged her down we ordered. I got a burger and my brother got a Philly cheesesteak, we both got tots. When the meals came in, we asked for sour cream for the tots (if you haven't tried sour cream and tots, try it!). We asked for cheese on the tots, but when they came, no surprise, no cheese. I wanted to let her know but she was busy, talking to the locals. We waited and we waited for the sour cream. Once she was done taking she brought it over. With the few tots we had left we tried the sour cream. We both looked at each other because the sour cream did not taste right. We both put it to the side and decided to try our main course. In first bite I noticed something, my brother did as well. They put a ton of pepper on my burger and on his cheesesteak. It stood out over everything. It probably was one of the most disappointing burgers in my life. But at that point, I didn't want to complain, just wanted to settle up and leave. Been here a few times prior to Seahawk games and now the Seattle Dragons. This place definitely has a fun atmosphere, but can get really tight for space at times. With that being said, tight spaces generally means busy crowd and wait staff. The food here is generally good. Had the pizza a couple of times. Nothing to complain about. I will say, the wife and I, along with a couple of friends, were a bit put off by the level of service. Not the hospitality of it all, but it took us 20 minutes just to pay our bill. But what really made us scratch our heads was, the bill was a cool $18, so we gave a $50, and then was immediately asked, "Do you need change back?" I'm a generous guy and all, but to assume a $32 tip, for subpar service... that didn't settle too well with the "customer service" aspect of it all. We did tip, and there was a young man who was actually doing the servicing for us, so we did tip, but then went out of our way to find that guy and gave him some cash for his efforts and making things right. My hubby and I came by to watch the game on a Saturday night in May. It's a short walk from the hotel. The place had a small crowd and had cheers vibe. Lots of TVs and tables everywhere. We've been coming here for about 2 years, started off on a friend's recommendation. First for those reading this, their server/sometime bartender Hailey is the absolute best! If I could review this place off of her alone, I'd give all 5 stars. Management if you are reading.....this one deserves a raise. Packed after a game, pretty easy going on other days. Service was good, security is pretty easy going and nice. This establishment is located in pioneer square and has a decent down to earth bar and grill feel. Hip hop music seems to dominate after a hawks game if that's a concern for you, not recommended for families but perfect for an after game 25-50 age crowd. Good wings, decent nachos, good beer selection and basic spirits selection. Nothing fancy but gets the job done, and a good place to meet up. Same can be said for most places in pioneer square. I'm not entirely sure how we ended up here but we made a pit stop to get some drinks and a small snack at KingStreet. We ordered corn dogs and French fries as well as a round of drinks hoping to be at happy hour price but since there was a soccer game going on that day, the happy hour prices didn't apply?? Oh well. The takeaway: KingStreet is one of those intimate sports bars that remind you of one of those bars you'd frequent in college. The food isn't noteworthy-like the corn dogs and fries most likely just came out of the freezer and were microwaved-but if you're out here with good company and in a few drinks you'll probably have a blast here. read more

The food was atrocious. My friends and I stopped by before the Erykah Badu concert for a quick bite to eat. The waitress was awesome. She was by herself but was still attentive and kind, but the food? Yuck! I ordered a green salad with ranch dressing. Instead of croutons they put cheese it crackers on it, just weird. Fun bar to hang out at before the Seahawks game! But I don't recommend for anyone who hates crowds. We came here before the Hawks game, to pre-funk and the place was packed an hour before game time. There's a bouncer who checks IDs at the entrance - even during the day, so minors are not allowed here. They do have a full food menu, but I didn't eat here - just got drinks. We had shots of tequila and the bartender was suppppper generous with his pours, as the shots were more like a shot and a half. I later learned they always pour more than the norm with their dranks; it's dangerous! They also have sugar-free Rockstar, making me a fan. Staff is super friendly and no matter how crowded and noisy the place was, it didn't seem to bother any of them. The place is on the smaller side, so it gets packed easily, like before games. There are TV screens, tables set up for dining, bar table sets and bar/counter seating. The restroom is shared with The Lodge next door. Overall, this is a fun bar near the stadiums, making it ideal for pre-funking. read more

I try to go here whenever I get a chance before getting on the Sounder train. I've always had great service here and the food is wonderful. They also have a new app and awards program. My personal favorites are the Pizzas, Three cheese grilled cheese sandwich and the King street Philly but I've had just about everything on the menu and it's all been awesome. It's a four start not a five because sometimes the draft beer can be a little warm. Maybe their lines need some freon or something. The new happy hour menu and specials are a nice change. Great Bar for a cold winter day. The calzones are huge, warm, and delicious. Match that with one of the local beers on tap and it is everything that you would need to warm up. I have bought pizza from here for parties and it is always a big hit. People ask all the time where we got the pizza from. I will say that it is pretty expensive but you get a really high quality pie. It is an underground location and has a real homey feel. We asked if we could move outside and verified 2 times and then our drinks never came outside for 30 minutes, when I went in to check she was very very rude saying I needed to communicate and that she didn't know where we were sitting. That wasn't the bad part. She asked if we wanted another drink, I said sure but can you get me the correct drink this time and she realized my last one wasn't correct she offered a free drink, which I never saw. Then 30 more minutes go by, we never received another drink, I went to the server to get my card and pay and she rang my card up without me looking at the bill, she charged me for 3 drinks, 3 beers, and a pop after having one drink one beer and a pop. THEN I SAID THIS IS WAY MORE THEN WE EVER RECIEVED ABD SHE YELLED AT ME INFRONT OF THE WHOLE BAR FULL OF PEOPLE THAT NO I DIDNT I HAD A BUNCH MORE DRINKS. I literally couldn't believe I was being talked to like this. I will be contacting the manager but beware of that server. read more

Drinkin' review only. 1) This place is within walking distance of King Street Station 2) I am taking the train.... 3) I end up here! This place was the place to be on a Monday afternoon before I caught my 2:20pm train. I was served quickly - and unfortunately ordered off that one persnickety IPA tap. While the beer foamed, and foamed, and foamed....the bartender was patient, jokey and calm. And I ended up with a good pour! The bar is pretty spacious - I concede it wouldn't be busy anyway, but it's laid out with plenty of seating for big crowds anyway. Bartender lady walked around and checked on everybody while I was there. With 30 minutes left, I was up a beer and in need of a lil' more booze so I went for a shot and a beer to close myself up. And then I heard the magical words "Do you want your shot chilled?"...wha? Chilled shot (not Yager in those ultra cold so you won't taste how crappy black liquorice is)? YES. PLEASE. And that wasn't a shot...that was a SHOT. I can take a shot like a champ, but that was a two-gulper. It seems they have a good happy hour, a wood fired grill for pizza and if I didn't live in PDX I'd be here more. Regardless, as my family insists on residing in Seattle I'll totally be back here. With the exception of their pizza, the food and service here leave much to be desired. You can just tell they don't use good ingredients and the people there (perhaps it's a language barrier...) don't know what they're doing in terms of service. Their fries are so gross, they recommend the "great" potato salad instead. And their potato salad is extremely sad... it's literally little pieces of potato mixed with mayonnaise. That's what it tastes like; just plain mayo, and it's very disappointing. The meat they use, particularly their chicken and turkey, is stale and tasteless. The bread is a cold white french roll. King Street is trying with the grilled pita sandwich, but you get three sad little triangles for $8 -- wtf!? And God forbid you ask for a simple alteration -- such as "no tomato" or "no bacon" -- they will send the plate to you twice before getting it right. This is a dive bar that doesn't smell particularly wonderful, but has a lot of TVs to watch games while you munch. I will say, however, there's a very nice older gentleman behind the bar who seems to be with it and funny. The others working there seriously need training on good service, how to work quickly, and food preparation. And oh yeah, while I'm being extra picky, their sign is ill-fitting for what it is; it's black with red cursive, looking like some sad 80s piano bar throw-away. read more

Great place for happy hour as I work close to this place. The happy hour menu is awesome, cheap food and drinks. Where else can you get a margarita for $3.00 and mini size pizzas for $1.95. Not to mention, they also have a large variety of other appetizers for $1.95 during happy hour. For $10 dollars, you can walk out of there with a full stomach and some rosy cheeks from two drinks. In the new Covid reality, King St is a pretty good find! I think in the past they've relied on sports traffic, which obvy isn't a thing right now. But they have nice sidewalk space for social distance drinks, and good beer deals, and Brian is just so dang friendly my husband took to asking me, "wanna meet me at Brian's bar after school?" I came here during the Seahawk parade and glad I did! It was right where the action was. It is a small bar, but very cozy and crowded. Everyone seemed to know the bouncer I had met on the walk over and his daughter for years. Their pizza and calzones were recommended to me so I had to try it. I ordered the chicken garlic pizza. Honestly, I was kinda disappointed with the pizza. The roasted garlic wasn't infused throughout the pizza, rather just topped on the pizza.. no special garlic sauce of any sort. Tasted mainly like cheese and chicken. The sicilian is worth ordering tho. The sausage was quite tasty and the tomato sauce was from a can, but it went well with the pizza as a whole. There were only two or three screens to watch the action going on outside from. The food is ok, but the service I got from hanging out with Art and his daughter was awesome so this place deserves an extra star. read more
