Breakfast menu on game day. November 3, 2024
    Paul K.

Drinks, food, sports. In that order. A pretty cool divey bar that's been here since the 80's. Don't come here wearing the opposing team's jerseys on game day! This is a Seattle sports bar! And a Seahawks bar on gameday. Lots of fans dressed to the hilt, face paint and all. I met a couple of friends for a drink or two and a bite to eat before the Seahawks game on Sunday. The bar is a few steps down from the sidewalk level and has plenty of tables, sports stories on the walls and lots of character. I had the breakfast burrito, my friends also had the burrito and the King Breakfast Bagel and a Breakfast Pizza (didn't know that was a thing!). The burrito and the bagel sandwich were rather small with the bagel sandwich having a small smattering of eggs on it. My friend had to order 2 to fill him up! The Breakfast Pizza was pretty good sized and had lots of toppings. The drinks were great with a full bar and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Overall, this place seems to be a great place for pre or post game drinks and food. A very sporty and fun vibe reverberates throughout.

I went here two days in a row amd had great draft beer, i had the meatballs in marinara sauce with garlic bread amd it was delicious! The meatballs were hand made everything was hot and fresh, although it reminded me of a cool dive bar, the food was much mote than that! Everyone was cool , they made recommendations. No complaints here.

Male bartender is a major d-bag. Spent his time talking to his buddy barside ignoring a line of customers. I'm looking at him currently not behind the bar and chatting it up with his best buddy. Seemed to be intoxicated or under the influence idk. Super prissy tone talking to customers who had to wait minutes for his super important conversation to end. Also just saw him puff a vape cloud in here lol. Manager, I hope you're reading this.

I came to this wonderful establishment on the worst day of my life! (Just pulled life support on my mom and said goodbye) The bartender Jeff & Sasha made me feel welcome and comfortable, like I was an instant local!!! They made me a wonderful meal and after the worst experience of my life at the Amtrak, I returned and the heated it up in the oven (not the microwave!!! The Oven!) The atmosphere was inviting and comfortable, and the food I cannot even put the words together to describe how wonderful my chicken Parmesan with a side of Alfredo sauce was... I have worked in customer service for 29 years and would put my seal of approval on this wonderful establishment and their great employees!

Tator tots taste like someone didn't wear gloves. Come here for happy hour if you like a chill place with chill music and chill vibes. Basic foods food with beer. ALSO, plan on paying for the INCREASED WAGES directly added to your tab!!! Listed as "living wages surcharge," amongst other taxes.

My brother and I were interested in watching the Thursday night football game and seeing Seattle social life. So what better way to kill two birds with one store than try a sports bar! We decided on "King Street Bar and Oven" because of the proximity to our hotel and it looked like a nice local dive. So we walked over and went in. There were only four people at first, so not much socializing. The music was incredible and that's the only compliment I will give. The waitress, really only favored the locals. We didn't get service right away. When we did my brother got drinks and I asked for a seltzer. I asked for no ice, like I normally do, but she gave it to me with ice. No biggie, hopefully she gets it right the next time. However next time would be over twenty minutes. When she finally took our order, we got corn dogs. She put down one napkin, the only one we would get, and she took back to conversations with the locals. When she finally remembered to bring them over, we ate them right away, I mean we were hungry. But they underperformed when it came to taste. We had to wait to put another order, but it may have been because a bunch of patrons came in. Once I flagged her down we ordered. I got a burger and my brother got a Philly cheesesteak, we both got tots. When the meals came in, we asked for sour cream for the tots (if you haven't tried sour cream and tots, try it!). We asked for cheese on the tots, but when they came, no surprise, no cheese. I wanted to let her know but she was busy, talking to the locals. We waited and we waited for the sour cream. Once she was done taking she brought it over. With the few tots we had left we tried the sour cream. We both looked at each other because the sour cream did not taste right. We both put it to the side and decided to try our main course. In first bite I noticed something, my brother did as well. They put a ton of pepper on my burger and on his cheesesteak. It stood out over everything. It probably was one of the most disappointing burgers in my life. But at that point, I didn't want to complain, just wanted to settle up and leave. Of course we had to wait twenty minutes for the check.

My hubby and I came by to watch the game on a Saturday night in May. It's a short walk from the hotel. The place had a small crowd and had cheers vibe. Lots of TVs and tables everywhere. The bartender was nice and gave us menu and water. The menu had pizza and wings any bar food. I ordered captain something drink with pineapple taste. It was really good. So we ordered Nachos and wings were average. Fun place to hang out and watch game.

Ok so I wanted pizza in pioneer square so I whip it out and Yelp says King street has beer and pizza which is such but that's fine.

Karin has taken care of us countless times, whether it's a quiet Monday or an absolutely packed one due to the events at the town hall across the street, and they have always been warm, patient, and accommodating. I actually celebrated my birthday here because it's one of my favorite spots. I am part of the large group that one of the recent negative reviews is referring to. It happened immediately after the USA FIFA match, and the restaurant was the busiest I've ever seen it. Despite that, Karin still went out of their way to accommodate our requests that normally wouldn't be possible due to the rush, including trying to help with separate tabs when they'd already explained that large groups would likely need to stay on one check. As for things like grabbing water, silverware, plates, or chili flakes...our table had already gotten those before a majority of the group arrived. It's a casual pizzeria, on one of their busiest days ever. Setting and cleaning up the table (especially when seated outside) is not a problem for our group as we do it every week. Which is why it's upsetting that we opened our spot to someone that left such a nasty review. What stood out to me wasn't poor service. It's that despite how overwhelming it must have been to work post-FIFA, Karin was able to take orders, bartend, serve food, and close out checks with professionalism. Sometimes no matter how much effort someone puts in, not everyone leaves happy. The pizza is fantastic! I love showing up every week and trying what new slice they have come up with (in the year that I've been coming here there legit hasn't been a repeat). The atmosphere is great and the staff, especially Karin, have earned our loyalty over the past year. We'll absolutely continue coming back.

The reason my friends and I keep coming back is the main bartender Karin, who's always so adept at managing large parties w folks coming/going, including being honest with us about if there is time to split checks or order as a table, a pretty common thing at a smaller spot. I was here after recent World Cup game and had great service (compared to the review below by Paula P)! I was actually at the table where Paula came and sat and will say that the majority of our table were provided exceptional service, so it was a shock to read that other review of the same experience. The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

One of the best things about life and being alive! Can you tell I am a bit of a pizza rat haha? Anyhow, I was enjoying the beautiful summer night in Seattle and was hungry around 9:30pm. A lot of places are closed already but this reliable pizza place was open. SWEET!! I walked in and lady working the counter was super nice and helpful. I got a slice of Italian supreme, which has everything. Now looking back though I wish I had gotten one of their Turkish dishes as I would have liked to try their lahmacun and read another Yelpers review and this place is supposed to have the best Turkish lahmacun in the US. Oh well, I guess I will be back! The woman heated up my slice and after a few minutes, it was ready. I took my slice and went to sit outside near Pioneer Square so I could be outside and people watch. Pizza was tasty and solid, but the crust was too dry. I have a feeling the slice wasnt the most fresh, so thats why the crust was a bit dry. But, if you know me, I do jot like soggy pizza (I mean - who does??), so a bit drier isn't too big an issue. The rest of the slice was good. Slice of pizza and a diet coke came to close to $9. Gosh things are so expensive now. They do have a special of 2 slices for $8.99 but I couldnt eat two slices. Id definitely come back here again when back in this area. Thanks for feeding me and if you need a late night spot, this is your place!

Unfortunately, the experience is consistently dampened by one of weekend bartenders. As others have mentioned, it's that taller bartender (Alex?) who repeatedly comes across as arrogant and dismissive to us; a less than desirable character trait for a bartender. It's such a pity because that is the sole reason we now lead our groups to spend their money and patronize other establishments instead. Recently we did give Diller another try, but sadly it's the same story and thus this feedback. Hospitality makes a HUGE difference. Bartending isn't just about making a good drink and expecting tips. As someone who tended bar all over Seattle for 23 years, I know how much energy and attitude shape a guest's night. When the service feels cold and passive-aggressively rude, it's hard to feel good about the experience. It's disappointing, because this place has so much potential. Hopefully management considers bringing in weekend staff whose personalities reflect the warmth and atmosphere the space deserves, there are plenty of more qualified bartenders in Seattle that would gladly fill their spot.
