Parking can be a wee bit tricky so waking, ride share, or public transit will be your best options. But if you have to drive we found a paid lot a few blocks away [[HIGHLIGHT]]While this wasn't the best tiki bar we've ever been to, it did stand out for the presentation of drinks, the cool (and massive) octopus, the immersion, and overall vibe is nice and atmospheric[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have four non-alcoholic options which I really appreciated as the one driving for the night! They also have standard as well as unique takes on tiki drinks. We were surprised to find so many options with vodka and tequila which isn't common in a more traditional tiki bar We had the: - "Kiki Premier Mai Tai" which wasn't as rum forward as we would have thought, especially given how many rums it had in it; but overall it was a classic style Mai Tai and tasty with quality rums - "One Eyed Willy" which has a fun presentation in a chest with smoking dry ice. This one you could taste the rum more and overall it was a really enjoyable drink and experience - "See A Light" which is a non-alcoholic option and the taste was just as good as the presentation. Came in a lovely angler fish tiki mug with the light and everything! The taste was complex and something that thought went into creating - "Four Boys" another non-alcoholic option that was the coolest visual as it came in a "steaming" crock pot. This place was highly recommended from my cousin who lives in Seattle. So while I was visiting for Emerald City Comic Con, I had to check this place out. First and foremost, you need to make a reservation. I did end up needing to move my reservation up because of scheduling but it worked out and the staff were really nice about helping me. There was a lot of thought that went into the presentation of each of the drinks and I love that attention to detail. Since it was around dinner time I did want to order food and drink. They did not have the Kikisoba (they ran out) and that made me sad, but I was able to order the Rumba sliders and a basket of fries. Inside Passage is an absolute must stop if you are in Seattle, especially if you love immersive experiences. I have never seen drinks served the way they are here. Calling it a bar almost feels wrong because it is truly a full experience from start to finish. The cocktails alone are worth the visit. June is our birthday month and to celebrate- along with booking our Alaska cruise- we celebrated all week long during our Seattle visit. We made our reservations in advance. Although I knew of selected food options for Inside Passage - I asked on their Yelp page if food could be ordered from the Rumba menu. We received our answer in ample time, and thank goodness, YES! I knew there was more of a selection for hubby to choose from the Rumba menu. You can never go wrong with having both food menus readily available! LOL From the Rumba menu- I think we ordered way too much and their portions were generous and food from both menus were delicious! Elevated in flavors and not the typical pub/ bar foods of boring hot dogs and fries. Rumba menu: Chicharonnes $8. Light crispy fare to nibble on with stiff drinks. Jamaican Beef Patty $6.50/ ea One is a good sized- to give you more space in your belly for other tasty fare. Flaky turmeric pastry filled with/ curry spiced ground beef, grilled poblano peppers, cheddar, corn & onion. Very savory! I was eyeballing the Jerk Deviled Eggs- but, picked Caribbean Spicy Shrimp (recommended by our server) $16. The recommendation did NOT disappoint! Being Mestiza myself and having our rice cooker- our beloved appliance sitting on our kitchen counter- a daily staple in many homes... was the main attraction! Who can honestly say when they go to a tiki bar- my drink was served in a RICE COOKER?!! Jamaican & Bajan rums, mango, rice milk, ube, lime & ginger. The dry ice "steaming" from the side and steam hole from the rice cooker lid- is hilarious! IYKYK Hubby got a few Dinglehoppers. Stopped by earlier this week to have an early evening drink and definitely was happy we chose this spot! We didn't have a reservation, but the hostess was very helpful and had us seated immediately. I'm a sucker for tiki bars and hidden bars, and Inside Passage is both. It is my favorite bar in WA. There is no exterior signage for Inside Passage except for a small neon palm tree. You have to step into Rumba bar and have a host bring you back into the side room, where the atmosphere completely changes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside Passage is a small but lavishly themed tiki bar that puts even the likes of Disney's Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar to shame.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's truly remarkable - from the massive tentacles reaching over the bar, to the custom themed mugs served with each drink, this place is an experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The price reflects that. These are pricey drinks, but they're pretty unique. From an earthy mushroom-tinged drink served in a sasquatch mug, to a crockpot and even an Amazon shipping package, the presentation here is unmatched. My default is the One-Eyed Willy, which comes in a metal skull served in a treasure chest full of glowing dry ice. The drinks are all delectable too - it doesn't seem like there's a bad choice. This place is beautiful! Perfect date night or place to hang with friends. Vibes and atmosphere was on point! The bartenders and server were all so friendly and nice. Server was super chill and answered any questions we had and made nice small talk. Bartenders even wished us a great night and said bye to us as we left. Only con of the night was our server disappeared and went over to sit down at Rumba so we payed with the bartenders. All the decor is so well thought out and intriguing. My favorite decor was the puffer fish lights. Lighting is moody and dim which was romantic and fun. We felt comfortable to take photos in the booths near some cute decor before we left. All customers were minding their business and enjoying chatting over cool drinks. We ordered 3 drinks in total. The oyster shooters is the reason I put Inside Passage on my want to go/bookmarks. Oyster shooters is definitely cute and tasty but for me personally as a seafood lover (love squid, clams, oysters, mussels, crab) it was only giving salty. Still good. I also ordered the only mocktail they had called Unleaded which was fun and yummy. My boyfriend chose the Jet Pilot which we both enjoyed sipping on and was on the stronger side :) Overall the drinks look and taste great and we were pleased. Reservations are recommended however we got lucky on a slower night and were walk ins at 9:20pm with no wait. I would definitely recommend Inside Passage for a relaxing and romantic date night! We were so excited after seeing the videos and reviews to check out Inside Passage. Our reservation was at 10pm since we were coming from the Mariners game, but we arrived early and they were able to seat us ahead of schedule, which was great! Once seated, we were given menus, but it took about five minutes before the server came by with water and to start service. She wasn't very welcoming and didn't seem helpful when I asked questions about the menu. We ordered drinks, which came out fairly quickly with a nice presentation -- the dry ice smoke effect was fun. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves were disappointing. Mine tasted like pure rum/alcohol. I tried stirring it, which helped slightly, but it was still mostly alcohol forward. My partner's drink had the same issue. Honestly, the flavors reminded me of what I'd expect from a dive bar, not from a speakeasy with such creative-sounding descriptions. I'm going to admit to you all right now, I'm not a big cocktail girl. I love myself a glass of white wine and it's normally what I'm going to go with, but why would you do that somewhere as iconic as Inside Passage? We happened to snag reservations here so that we could take a coworker who was visiting in town. While they've been open awhile, it was my first time stopping in too and I was so excited to finally see it in person after seeing it on social media eleventeen million times. It was definitely smaller than I expected and I can see why reservations are highly recommended (required?) It's dimly lit and the tiki bar theme is hard to miss, 100% on point. Love the giant tentacles on the ceiling above the bar, really ties it all together. The menu is impressive and it's so hard to choose. Everything sounded delicious! I ended up going with the Mohai-Tai because I love myself a Mai Tai and it's IN A RAINIER CAN. How much more PNW can you get?! The presentation was obviously impressive and it was the right choice for sure. We also decided to get the Oyster Shooters because they looked fun, but... I was noooot a fan. It's made with some sort of salty ocean vodka and is definitely reminiscent of seafood. But what was I expecting, right? When the bartender asked how everything was, we admitted to him that it wasn't our jam (very nicely!!!) and he was an absolute angel and concocted some sort of fruity pineapple shots for us on the house as a surprise, so a million stars for him!! This is what tiki bar dreams are made of! Tucked away in another restaurant, inside passage was a total vibe! My friends told me it's pretty hard to get a reservation for it, so I was glad we were able to. It didn't seem super busy to me, but it's also a smaller bar with just seating at the bar and then a few booths. We were seated and walked back as soon as we arrived and the vibe in here is incredible. I really thought I was in a tropical place! We ordered our beverages and everyone got something different. All the drinks were sooo good! I loved mine though I don't recall the name. We also ordered these clam shots and they were pretty interesting. To me it tasted just like a clam with the salty taste. Me and my friend always love checking out speakeasies in cities we are visiting and came across Inside Passage which was inside of a restaurant. I ordered the Chi Chi which was vodka, pineapple, lime, and coconut cream. I loved how it came inside a pineapple which was cute. I unfortunately did not like my drink very much. It wasn't bad, except it was way stronger than I expected. My friend felt her drink was overly strong as well. Two girlfriends and I headed north to Seattle last weekend for the Professional Women's Hockey League game at Climate Pledge Arena. Afterwards, we visited several local bars, to include this speakeasy located inside Rumba. While we made a reservation, we would have gotten in without one. The space is small but amazing! We were immediately introduced to the bar mascot, Kiki. I recommend sitting at the bar - you can watch Driftwood Jones create all the cocktails! The drinks are pricey, but the presentation is worth it to a certain extent. Inside a passages is more a spectator event than a bar to drink regularly at. The straight up mai tai was one of the best I've had. While you're there, make it a point to check out the bathrooms. You never know what you might find hanging around. read more

This is the one served in the rice cooker which was pretty cool and different. The drink was surprisingly not sweet, the ube and mango flavor was definitely there. The combination of everything was really good! I decided to also try the inside passage which was recommended by our waiter for not so sweet drinks. Drink was good! Overall experience was good. The moment you step inside, you forget you're in Capitol Hill and are transported to an underwater wonderland, complete with nautical vibes and a giant octopus named Kiki watching over the space. We ordered a Banana Daiquiri and an Unleaded Cocktail, and let me tell you, some of their drink presentations are next-level. One even comes served in a rice cooker! It's totally fun to visit with a small group and order different drinks just to see how they're presented. Keep in mind, it's a pretty intimate space, so they don't really have room for groups larger than six. Inside Passage nails the speakeasy tiki vibe with its décor, fun atmosphere, and some of the most unique drink containers I've ever seen. I mean look at this drink inside a rice cooker! The presentation was incredible, but the drinks themselves fell a little flat for me. Still, worth a visit for the experience and vibes alone. read more

We had such a fun experience at Inside Passage!! The drinks were phenomenal and the food was great too! We LOVED the yuca fries, brie wontons, and the rumba beef sliders. "The Four Boys" is a must get cocktail! We also enjoyed "The Inside Passage" and "I See a Light" cocktails, as well. The service was also incredible, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]not to mention the insane ambiance/theme![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend Inside Passage when visiting Seattle. read more

Looking to kill a little time before a concert, my husband and I came to Inside Passage to grab a cocktail. We arrived early enough after their opening that we were able to grab a seat right away without a reservation. The space itself is quite tiny and definitely gives little mermaid under-the-sea vibes. Our server was kind and attentive. We each ordered a different specialty cocktail from their menu (The Inside Passage and The One-Eyed Willy) and the theatrics did not disappoint. What was disappointing was the amount of cocktail for the price - only a few sips and the cocktail was gone. Womp womp! We had already eaten so we didn't try the food but apparently people like the menu and small bites. I don't know if I would go so far as to say this is a "speakeasy" as it is simply a different part of an existing restaurant and is not "hidden". Worth a visit but not my top favorite tiki spot of all time. read more

I visited the Inside Passage in Seattle, WA on Sunday, 6/9/24, around 5 PM. Initially, I did not make a reservation in advance. However, the hostess did have seating available. What stood out to me about this tiki bar was the amazing decor. As far as the drink, I decided to order the Dinglehopper. The presentation was beautiful and it tasted great. The bartenders were super nice and personable. I recommend checking out the Inside Passage for great vibes and wonderful drinks. read more
