    * One of the best new if not the best Omakase in Miami * Beautiful intimate 10 seat venue in the Gables * Chef Reiji Yoshizawa has the pedigree, talent and experience to earn a Michelin Star, and I'm betting he will Chef Reiji is no newcomer to Omakase fine dining having run the venue at Mila Omakase for three years after building his reputation with El Secreto at the Faena and Paul Qui along with two stints at the Setai Miami and Jaya. Now with his own place his creativity shines through in his stellar 15 course omakase. Elyu has a dedicated temperature controlled cabinet for aging high quality fish to intensify their favors. Sommelier Cameron is building a sake collection with the passion to marry the Sakes to various courses. The wine collection is not there yet, with only four choices, but oenophiles can bring a wine from their cellar for a $100 corkage fee. The theme here is high quality fish, caviar, wagyu presented beautifully but also deliciously. Usually in an omakase you will find some bites you love and some that you don't. Here my wife and I loved every one of the 15 presentations. If you are an omakase addict and have been to Mila, Queen, the Den at Azabu, Nossa, Shingo, Ogawa, you need to add Elyu to your list. Note, Elyu has the same address as Anthony's Coal fired pizza and another restaurant, just a different suite number. Park Mobile street parking is usually available. The restaurant is kept appropriately cool so bring a sweater if you get cold easily. You pay in full in advance with your reservation no walk ins as is usually the case with high end omakases.

WOW. This place has only been open a week in Miami, and it deserves a Michelin star. Located in the heart of Coral Gables with only 12 seats, Elyu serves an intimate dining experience like no other. The experience is an amazing Omakase experience, with bits of Japanese culture and tradition interwoven into every dish. The chef, sous chef, and staff do an amazing job of being attentive to all guests and incorporating them into the experience. I loved learning where all the ingredients were from and how they were prepared in different ways to unlock the flavor. They use fresh and seasonal ingredients to tailor a unique menu. A heightened tasting experience and a must-try.

A breathtaking experience from start to finish. The moment you walk in, you're transported to Japan. The experience is Miyabi which stands for elegance and it really shows. There are two seatings and only 12 seats. The chef is half Japanese and Filipino and he is a pure artist when it comes to plating and merging each ingredient. All of their ingredients are seasonal and as such the menu varies every so often (about every 3 months). Everything is brought from Japan from the fish to even the decor. You are up close to the chef and see him delicately slice and plate each dish. The service is unbeatable. The team works like a fine tuned orchestra measuring your every move and even staying one step ahead. The chef shines during the entire experience and after 2 plus hours there, you wonder... how could you ever top this experience ?

Spicy tuna roll looked and tasted like beat up tuna and the hamachi was drenched in soy sauce before getting plated on top of soy sauce and oil at the bottom. Why?! Waste of good fish or covering up bad fish taste? The only sushi roll that didn't have imitation crab or tempura shrimp was the Seattle amigo roll, but it was drenched in sweet sauce. 0/10 would not recommend anything we ordered if you enjoy good sushi...

For happy hour, I've had the rainbow poke ($7), and the buy 2 get 1 skewers, and the ebi croquette ($11). All were good but not that filling. I would say in terms of deals, you get more bang for your buck with the lunch specials. For lunch, I shared the mai premium lunch ($28) and the udon soup ($16). The premium lunch came with miso soup and 9 small dishes in a beautiful bento box. Definitely aesthetically pleasing and I liked the variety. The udon soup was also great with chewy udon noodles, sweet savory soup, and tempura shrimp/veggies. Service was attentive and nice. Parking available via street parking or you can pay in nearby parking garages. I wouldn't bring a big party based on the limited seating arrangements inside. All in all good food. I would consider coming back for their lunch specials.

I've been three times already, and it's plain out the best nigiri and sashimi I've ever had. The quality of the dishes is on another level. The variety of dishes changes seasonally. Located on the side of the Palmas building in Coral Gables Florida shingle is a small contemporary modern feeling restaurant with everything you'd come to expect from a one star Michelin restaurant here in Miami. We went for Valentine's Day to do the Omakase menu that they were presenting. It was well worth it. Each individual bite was an experience in of themselves. One particular piece was a squid dish that was sliced so thin it felt like you were eating silk. The tuna courses were incredible. Flown in fresh for the night -- piece after piece -- spectacular. We ended with the toro -- heavenly. The oysters -- west coast and east coast oysters with completely different tastes. Crispy Japanese Milk toast with ikuri (divine) and the other with fresh flown in Uni (heavenly). The Wagu is delicious (although personally I enjoy my Wagu with a simple sear). They had an eel (fresh of course) with caviar -- WOW. And finally a a triple threat of Uni, Ikuri and caviar to end the night. We loved the Shingo experience. Do yourself a favor. Head over to the Mile of a cocktail (one so you don't lose your senses for the meal) then hop over to the restaurant and spend a few hours delighting those senses in a culinary experience.

The starter omakase runs about $68. It was around seven courses plus dessert, and honestly, every dish pulled its weight. Bonus points to the server, who gave clear, thoughtful explanations. Menu-wise, don't expect a parade of rolls they're clearly nudging you toward the omakase experience. But if that's the goal, they're doing it right. This spot is located in an unassuming shopping center where a Nicklaus building is, which is perfect for when you're in the mood to keep a low profile. It's a small, intimate restaurant with counter top seating and a few tables. From the moment we walked in, the folks chopped it up with us and made jokes, which is great because it broke the ice in a way that felt like you were amongst friends. Excellent service all around. We sat at one of the tables as we intended to do a lot of talking and didn't want to be noisy at the counter. We decided to take the recommendation of the staff and did the omakase express option and a sake sampler pairing with three different kinds. No notes here because everything was great, there were several "MMMM!" moments (wish I remembered what each bite was!) and the first sake we got (pictured) was fantastic. Would definitely buy it to have at home. Big shout out to Allie, who covered our table on her first day, was very cool and definitely helped steer the dinner in the right direction. If you're in the Doral area and in the mood for some quality Japanese, definitely stop by here!

The rolls are very simple and i enjoyed that so much because you know they're not trying to cover up the taste of sub par food with sauces and deep fried oils. The miso soup especially is what sold me. its not clear or almost white like most places, you can tell its made traditionally. Adore adore!! The place itself is a bit small and i do wish the seats were more comfortable but the service was amazing! I felt bad because people were walking in AT closing time (some even 3 mins after) and they were still seating them. Kinda hope they stop that practice though because the staff seemed a bit overworked. My mom and i will make it a habit to eat here often! Outstanding food!!
