I am writing this review reluctantly as I knew Enanuel to be a reliable person several years back when he did a gate for us. Unfortnately my experience with him recently, has been very disappointing. I paid Emanuel a $500 deposit in February for custom gates. Over the next several months, I received numerous promises that the gate would be installed "tomorrow," "Tuesday," "Friday," "this Saturday," or "next week." Each deadline passed without the work being completed. Throughout the process, Emanuel repeatedly apologized and cited different reasons for the delays, including roofing issues, measurement problems, painting, and personal setbacks. I remained patient, communicated respectfully, and gave him many opportunities to complete the job because I understood that life can be difficult. Unfortunately, after months of missed commitments, I requested my deposit back. Despite my repeated requests, I did not receive the work I paid for, or the refund I requested. My experience was disappointing not because of a single delay, but because of the repeated promises over several months without follow-through. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY if you don't want to have to redo the work in under a year. I am revising my previous review (which I cannot find). I had given Emanuel a four or five-star rating as the fence was installed, and I was delighted. HOWEVER, in less than a year, it is rusting and in some places fully rusted. I have called and texted, and made appointments repeatedly with Emanuel, and he has either not shown up, cancelled, and never reached out to reschedule, or made excuses (e.g., his employees won't work, etc.). I now have to pay to have the fence recoated and painted - a couple of thousand dollars. I have a friend whom I referred, and she is having the same issues. I feel bad giving Emanuel a one star rating. He is a nice guy who does not know how to manage his business. I first hired him to install two new wrought iron gates and a dog cage, which he did fine (although the cage rusted after 2 months due to improper paint work). Generally, he was easy to work with and responsive. During the project I asked him if he could also build a concrete wall, some concrete steps and install a glass railing in my backyard. He said he could handle all three with no problem, but clearly he was working with subcontractors whom he had never worked with before. The wall was completed and work was fine, however the other two projects were a challenge. The steps were completed, but were poorly done -- the steps are all different heights (see photo). This project took months and he would often cancel at the last minute or not show up when he said he would. I have been working with him to get the glass railing done for over 8 months. He has literally said he would be coming with the crew more than six times and just not shown up. They came once to put in the base channel and never came back. That work was not done well as they cracked my tile (see photos) -- I would have lived with this but he has never been able to get them to return to finish the job (I have never seen the glass). I gave him thousands of dollars for the railing and asked for my money back. He has told me that he takes full responsibility and that he will bring me cash or a check, but has now not shown up to do that when he said he would four times. Unfortunately, after 8 months, I now have no choice other than to take him to Small Claims Court to recover the $2500 downpayment that I paid for work that was never completed. read more

IRONCLAD LOSS: GHOSTED BY 'EMANUEL' [FOLLOW-UP BELOW] Emanuel Hernandez answered his cell phone and the conversation we had was reasonable--he seemed very knowledgeable about iron work and his enthusiastic demeanor was appreciated. The only problem was that he never showed up. During our initial call we spoke at length about my project and he repeatedly assured me that it was within reach. I provided my location, we set a an appointment date and confirmed our meeting a few days later. As our appointment approached I reached out again to re-confirm. Mr. Hernandez reassured me again that he would be arriving--no problem. Finally, on the day we were to meet, Mr. Hernandez was a no-show. I didn't assume the worst. Maybe he had an emergency? Maybe time got the best of him? I even texted him and provided him with an out by asking him if he wanted to reschedule? Mr. Hernandez never responded. He never texted, never called. Despite a few more efforts to contact him that day and days later, he was not reachable. I can sympathize with last-minute changes, postponements and even cancelations. Life happens...understood, but not replying ever again was a major bummer. Mr. Hernandez, I accommodated your schedule: I took time off work, provided you with every detail possible and patiently waited for you to arrive. Based on your social media posts, it seems like you are okay...glad you are! I'm still, however, puzzled why you would set up an appointment and never show up. Again, I understand that things happen all the time, but not responding at all that day or days/weeks after trying to contact you was disappointing. I see you get 5 stars often and that was a driver for me, but your disappearing act was not cool. I even provided ways to remedy the situation and nothing. I really did lose time, money and energy. Like you, I also value my time. Next time a potential customer reaches out to you and you can't make it for ANY reason, tell the person so they can plan accordingly. It's fair and the right thing to do especially since you appear to be running a legit business and seem to employ a good number of people to help you. FOLLOW-UP: Mr. Hernandez is no longer ghosting and made contact. THE GOOD: Although Mr. Hernandez ghosted me after he never showed up for our appointment despite confirming several times and ignoring my calls/texts on the day of our scheduled meeting, he did finally reach out today. On the surface, a good move. However.... THE BAD: Mr. Hernandez alludes to my post possibly not being right. He also apologizes and asks about a "remedy." Even though I lost time, money and energy as I placed faith in Mr. Hernandez's words, he chose to ignore me. If he had simply cancelled, we would not be here. IRONY: Oddly enough, Mr. Hernandez's reviews are PERFECT--most are 5 STARS, if not all. Apparently, he runs a perfect business and is beloved (a superstar) among his customers. Most legit businesses have good and not so great reviews. Even Oprah doesn't get perfect reviews. Also, more than 40 reviews are "not recommended" by Yelp--reviews that are part of Mr. Hernandez's Yelp business profile. (See photo). I have moved on regarding Mr. Hernandez's services. Simply, the trust is gone. My only hope is that he does not do this to others. We have a tough economy and as a legitimate business owner with perfect ratings, Mr. Hernandez should know better. We hired Emanuel to remove our old wrought iron fence and fabricate and install 75' of new wrought iron fence. Emanuel was quick to come out and give me a competitive bid and we agreed that he would start once he finished fabricating the fence. His team showed up and did a nice job installing the fence along with critter fence along the bottom of the wrought iron fence. We were very happy. 6 months later the fence started to rust in various areas, including the top of the fence which does not receive any water from the sprinklers. Flat out, the fence was not primed and painted properly and it took less than 6 months to start rusting. I texted Emanuel to notify him of the rust (see attached photo of text message) and he assured me his team would get out quickly to repair the situation. He never showed up and over the course of the next 6 months I called and texted him 10+ times, each time saying he would be coming out "next week or tomorrow after 1:00pm" but never showing up. As much as I hate to write a negative review, it's not fair to spend $5,000 for something and get a second rate product in return. We were looking to do a new banister and hand rails for our stairway. Emanuel was out 3rd quote and his pricing and presentation were really good. We decided to give Emanuel our business. He told us the work would take approximately two weeks, which really turned out to be a seven day wait. He said he would be here on Thursday @ 9:00 AM and sure enough, he was here. Emanuel & Freddy fabricated everything in about 6 hours. He took everything down to bring back to his shop and do all the finish work and final paint. By the way, a ton of colors to choose from. He said he would be back the next Monday to install the final product. Guess what? Like clockwork, there he was as promised. As he started the final installation, we had noticed that the color wasn't quite what we thought it was going to be, and some of the welds weren't what we thought they were going to be either. We pointed out what we were not happy with and without hesitation, Emanuel said that he would take everything down, finish it to our satisfaction and he even changed the paint color for us, at no additional charge. I just finished 80' of custom stamped wall and cap and needed a new double gate that would make it stand out. I received lower quotes and much higher quotes, his was fair and the proposed look with clavos covering the bolts was excellent. I chose Emanuel's because he answered all my questions clearly and assured me that he would finish the job just as I expected it. I did not want thin gauge square tube and I believe he used 14 gauge. Also, I wanted plank cedar 1" and he specified Tongue and Groove 3/4" (it is lighter and he was right, it looks great). He was on time, very meticulous about his work, delivered exactly as specified, and put an additional locking mechanism on the back. Extremely clean job. Look at the pics, double gate almost 7 feet. Very professional. Update - July 2019: my small gate 34", for whatever reason became tight (even though strong block wall). Called Emmanuel and he set a date a couple days later. The quote was about 1/2 of the price quoted by another well regarded provider. Based on that had him come out and review and out put in writing what he would do and this included replacing a wood pieces that tied in the fence to our wood fence. I called last Thursday and sent him my measurements, photos of current gate and area plus a photo of the gate I wanted.
