I never write reviews, but they deserve the recognition. I was heading out of town for 4 days and I was apprehensive leaving my newly-adopted kitty alone. Juli was FANTASTIC! She took great care of my cat, took time to play with him and keep an eye on his medical condition, sent me photo updates, and kept the litter box and the surrounding area nice and clean. Embark is a godsend! We are new to the area, have 5 cats and 1 extremely shy senior dog, and so the normally stressful and expensive experience of going out of town was doubled when we had to fly short-notice to the West Coast for a funeral...on a holiday weekend. Juli made the whole thing easy, not just in terms of logistics, but emotionally. She was so responsive, punctual, observant, kind, and very perceptive with both our apartment and the pets. I want to emphasize that when I say our dog is shy, I mean he loves exactly three people in this world, and thinks literally everyone else is out to ax-murder him. He runs from people who have just fed him. He's terrified of children and the elderly. Before we moved here, his former foster mom would watch him because it just seemed impossible to get him to trust a sitter. I hired Juli to walk him a few times before we left on our trip, and she made enormous strides with him just in those few walks. She was so kind and patient with him that by the time we left, I felt totally reassured that he was in good hands, and that she had the situation under control. I've lived all over the country and had various cat/pet sitters in NY and CA, and I've also worked as a pet sitter. Not to toot my own horn, but I was a very conscientious pet sitter, and Juli is still easily the best I've ever seen. Because we have so many pets I generally am just happy if they're all still alive and not lost when we get home. Juli went above and beyond--the litter and food areas were tidy, and she'd even washed and dried our bedspread after one of the cats had vomited on it, as they like to do. Also, normally when we return from a trip, the cats tend to be a bit frantic and clingy for attention. This time they were unusually calm--I think because Juli had given them such loving attention while we were away. We're immensely grateful to Juli and can't recommend EmBark enough! read more

We were relieved to find Juli at the start of the pandemic to trim the many non-human nails in our household. She comes right over to the back yard, puts the critters at ease, does a great job and doesn't charge much! She's a great find like a dentist or car mechanic that you want to keep for life. This husband and wife duo are simply THE BEST! Victor and Juli took such amazing care of our cat Gabby, providing daily updates and pictures. We could tell how engaged Juli was how happy Gabby was... which of course made US happy. We also have a dog who stayed at a boarding facility... but, because of some scheduling limitations, we were in desperate need of some special help getting him to and from the facility. Though not on their menu of services, Victor agreed to help us out at a very fair price. Before any care, they came over for a free consult/meet and greet... I liked them immediately, as did our pets. Everyone was super relaxed, Victor and Juli were obviously knowledgeable and very professional. They left a beautiful folder with information about their services as well as a detailed document asking for key info about each of our pets. The fact that they are licensed really made us feel secure in our choice. (We had read some horror stories about using services like Rover, so it was important to us that we find a qualified, licensed caregiver.) Reading the reviews from others who have chosen EmBark sealed the deal. Victor and Juli will be, without question, our go-to when we need professional pet care. I used Embark for the first time a few months ago to stop in a couple of times a day to check on my cat. It was my first time leaving her alone and since she was still a kitten, I was naturally worried. Juli came to visit and I could immediately tell that she had a true love for animals. She has a very gentle way about her and my cat Coco just loved her while I was away. She sent pictures and text me daily so that I would feel at ease, and she left detailed report cards for me when I returned. I love the service and the communication was the best!
