I usually don't give a one star unless someone pisses me off or did something not reasonable nor…read moreacceptable. This is my second time going to see Lora for a facial treatment. We made this second appointment which is on 8/26 at 11 am a MONTH ago. When I arrived right on time this morning, I saw another customer was arriving and she told me her appointment was supposed to be at 10:15, but Lora told her to come back at 11:00. So we went in and Lora was very calm and expected to see both us. She looked at me and start to ask me, "Can't you wait? Or come back at a later time". I simply could not because I had all the other stuff planned today and I do not think this is an acceptable response to push back my appointment because she messed up the schedule. Also, if she already knew that at 10:15 am she needed to push back another client's appointment, she could have called me at that time and ask me to come back at another time. At least that way, I don't need to waste time and effort to come right on time - But she did not. I was very frustrated so she started to ask me what she can do to help me feel better - I thought oh that's a very nice gesture, at least now you care about your customers. So I thought about it and asked her to give me a discount. Guess what she said back to me? She goes " OH LADY, DON'T PUSH ME TOO HARD" Me:"....." - Isn't giving a discount the most common way of making up the mistake you made??? So I told her I am not going to have the spa anymore, you are a ridiculous person and she was like "DO YOU GET ANY OTHER OPTIONS?" OMG can you feel her arrogance now? Besides the fact that she is very rude (to me at least) and she doesn't respect her client's time, the spa environment sucks. She has a price of doing one facial of $300 marked on Groupon, but then through the deal it's lowered to around $100-$120. Though Groupon's deal price can be misleading, you would expect this place to be a decent spa place with all the good reviews on Yelp and Groupon. Nope - this spa is in a tiny room at the back of some sort of wellness recovery gym, which seemed very sketchy to me. I also don't think the door can be locked. I will say Lora gave me a decent first time spa and that's why I decided to go back (also because I have not been to many spa places in Chicago yet); however, I do not think it's worth the price with this location/utilities and the fact that Lora has a really bad attitude because now I think about it, she did NOT apologize to me at all... and almost made me feel I was the one asking too much.

After a pleasant pre-treatment of cleansing and steam, Leslie was precise in assuring that every milliliter of my face and neck had the benefit of the treatment. A complimentary red light treatment was added at the end. My skin looks great! I am in my 70s and the light is bouncing of my face for a healthy glow. Leslie shared that she uses pharmaceutical grade products. I like that she was not pushy and simply offered to make some recommendations based on my concerns. She also suggested I use the products that I have so they don't go to waste. I liked her down to earth approach. I understand that life happens and that things come up, but the way the situation was handled was horrible. She completely wasted my time and I had to pay $15 for parking for a service I did not even get. The business owner is completely unprofessional and I can't imagine this place staying open much longer with the way she runs things. I'm confused as to why she was driving to the salon right before an appointment instead of getting there early to set up and I genuinely can not believe she waited until I got there and waited 15 minutes into my appointment time to tell me she could not do the service. 1st. Called to make an appointment same day and they were very accommodating. Great!…read more2nd. Asked if location was 20th st and she said yes. Hung up the phone. Then I get a text stating that they are doing renovations and I would need to go to a residential address. Ok, I gave them benefit of the doubt. I arrive. It is obviously that persons home. I go down to the basement with the lady. It was weird because it looked like a complete set up was there but it was a mess. Ok. Whatever, sometimes you have to do what you have to do. Later the lady tells me that they are moving from that location instead because of cost of the rent. Ok. I guess sometImeS it's hard to explain over the phone and what she said would have been easier. 3rd. While getting my lashes done, there were people screaming and yelling upstairs and were talking about being drunk. Super unprofessional. But I was ok with it cause like I said sometimes you make stuff work if they really were having renovations 4th. After 3.5 hours, I finally see my lashes. I can say I was pretty comfy as far as the chair goes. I dozed off a little. My lashes were great. They would be absolutely perfect if I ask for short lashes that were all one length. I asked for long lashes that has lots of varyIng lengths and volume so they looked a little more natural. Ok. Whatever. They didn't look bad my any means so I cannot really get that mad. I know what my lashes can handle and the length and diameter so I was confused by her decision to do exactly what I didn't want. 5th This is what reaaly turned me off. When we went upstairs to do payment, the mom was freaking out in the lady that did my lashes because she didn't know what she did and didn't understand how I was going to pay. She was being so rude and talk about me with me right there outside of the door. She never just came out and asked and tried to figure it out. I also got charge $185 when I thought I booked for the type that was $150. Not a big deal. They did give me 20% off for being a new client. I found it really odd that the lady/daughter didnt know how to take payment for her own services and that the mother was getting so upset with her. I'm not sure if the lady was even of age after that conversation. But anyways, I just don't feel like the professionalism is there. I understand things happen but they should have said no we don't have any appointments when I originally called. It looked like a nice place online and some reviews that seemed promising but overall it was a let down and I was uncomfortable. Edited: after doing some research, I found out my lash lady is not licensed and has not graduated high school yet!! What??
