For me, $35 is just the right price as this is not your typical luxury, spa style treatment. I was greeted quickly on arrival and taken back right on time. Service is provided while sitting in a salon style chair in an open area, so others are getting their facials done next to you. My aesthetician was nice and customized my facial to fit my skin's needs. My skin did feel plumper and more moisturized after my service. I was going on vacation the next day, so I just wanted a little glow. They have a membership which makes the facials a better deal. Personally, I won't come back too often because I prefer going to a spa for a more traditional hour long service. However, I think is a great option for those looking for decent skincare without all the frills. read more

Facials help with premature aging; with me being over fifty it's important that I am consistent with skin care and I love a healthy, hydrating glow. Facials help improve product absorption; with the price of serums and creams constantly going up, I can't afford for anything to just be sitting on my face. I need it fully absorbed into my skin. That's how the products work. I tried counting how many steps Nylle performed while doing my facial. Between the steamer and her magic hands I would doze off. I know I was cleansed twice and there was an exfoliant applied. I do remember the ice queens with the charcoal mask because the bulbs were cold. Other than that, it's a blur. Afterwards, my skin felt amazing, plump and hydrated. I really enjoyed the blue sea kale serum which I got to keep as I upgraded to the Blue Steel Facial. Worth it. Aja at the reception desk is very welcoming and not at all pushy about getting you to sign up for a membership. They are running a 35$ facial special for a limited time. I booked a 30 minute facial through ClassPass and then while she was working on me, she recommended that I also had extraction so that was like an additional $15 which was cool because the whole time during my facial she was very knowledgeable and I felt that My skin was being cared for properly. The staff is friendly and cheery. I ended up signing up for the membership because I live so close and want to stay consistent. This is my new pop in/on the go facial spa! I love tbat they are open everyday with time slots from 10am-8pm. Only closed for major holidays. I found out about this place after leaving an aerial yoga and I was sold. I saw that they have an unlimited membership for $99 so I signed up. Without the membership each facial costs $50 and add-ons are $10-20 each. Now let's talk about the treatment actual facialexperience. My estechcian name was Lissette. She was nice and by the way wore a mask the whole entire time. I was hesitant to select any other add-ons besides the neck and shoulder massage because I wanted to discuss these options with Lissette. Fyi, if you do select any treatment and your Estechcian does not believe it is necessary you then you will not be charged. Lissette went over my questionnaire/intake form then began my facial. She chose the charcoal detox treatment which was really nice. Unfortunately, my skin did not tolerate the mask so she choose another sensitive alternative. We discussed some maintenance and tips to care for my face after my facial. She was very thorough and was open to hear my opinions. For the price, I think this is experience makes a lot of sense. It's definitely unique, so I have to explain the reasoning for my rating a bit. I knew it would be pretty basic and limited to maybe a simple (hopefully relaxing) cleanse that was quick and barebones. What I wasn't expecting was for the facial to take place in a semi-communal space. Three chairs in an open area behind the check-in counter's wall. So you're essentially just sharing a facial space with two other customers and can hear all the conversation around you. Not as relaxing as I had hoped, and so barebones that I definitely could have done the exact same thing at home for free. To make up for the extremely affordable price, the company really pushes the sale of their products. I was talked through every single product used, and at the end of my facial, I was walked over to their shelf to look at the products and was asked again at checkout if I would like to purchase any of the items. When I declined, I was dismissed pretty quickly. It really does feel a bit like one of those presentations you get at hotel chains to get a free gift. Gets you in with hopes to upsell and then usher you out once it's clear you're not interested. Overall, definitely worth stopping by for an occasional clean, but would not say it's worth it unless you plan on adding additional services. The baseline facial is too noisy and basic for the price, but with the cheap add-ons, I can see this being a great alternative to the much pricier full-service places. read more

I ended up getting a fresh facial and added on a pumpkin peel and a neck/shoulder massage. Absolutely thrilled that clean your dirty face opened up in the south loop! I have been getting a facial every Saturday since they opened their doors. I can't rave enough about the amazing service with the friendly receptionist or estheticians. They really make you feel super welcomed. My skin has been suffering a lot lately with the stress and anxiety from covid and having this small business near has been tremendous help for me. I already see a huge improvement from the weekly facials and all of their amazing products (which I highly recommend!). The salon is extremely clean and all staff takes precaution with Covid and always wear a mask. I feel very safe here. I can't recommend this salon enough! I was a bit underwhelmed by my facial here. It was indeed quick and efficient, but felt like something I could do myself, and didn't feel very professional. I bought the $10 add ons for extractions and the neck / shoulder massage, and did the detox facial. The facial took 32 minutes total so the add-ons were theoretically a minute each. I suppose that makes them efficient, but didn't feel worth it. The order of steps were: 1. Face wash + hot towel 2. Exfoliating scrub + hot towel 3. Extractions - this was underwhelming. It was all by bare hands with no tools, and was about 4 squeezes total across my nose (even though I know that wasn't enough to get those out, and I definitely have some blackheads on my cheeks and forehead). I had a problem area I asked her to focus on but wasn't effective without tools - a few days later it's still flaring up, and now hurts from the blunt trauma (vs the targeted pressure tools can do) 4. Toner + cooling tool - this felt great! 5. Moisturizer + ~2 min neck and shoulder massage, which also felt great but so short! I also felt like I didn't get very useful advice when I asked questions that went beyond pushing their products. I didn't notice anything stand out about the products and didn't buy any. Overall I felt this was an ok facial. If you want a quick face wash it's great, but was too quick to feel pampering and too simple to feel effective. I don't think I'll get another. read more

I initially chose the founding membership for $99 a month which allows you to go UNLIMITED times a month. You can cancel if need be as well. I love their add ons and homemade creams, oils, and masks. I'm usually very skeptical when it comes to skincare because I've tried so many different brands and solutions, including non-toxic/cruelty-free/"clean" ones, etc. with little change, but I am OBSESSED with CYDF. I have seen both Karina and Lauren, and both of them were absolutely amazing and truly take the time to listen and advise based on my concerns. My skin is very oily and picky when it comes to what I can use on it, but I have seen amazing improvements since starting my membership in January and using the CYDF products. I usually get a facial about every other week or so, although I don't really stick to a strict schedule on that. The Savasana toner is my favorite product at the moment, I use it several times a day, and I will definitely be buying more when I run out. I also usually shy away from oils because, well, I already have so much oil, but I am very happy to admit that I've been proven very wrong on that front. I've been using the Goddess Oil at night for about two months now, and I love it! The products are a bit more pricey than what I'm used to paying with some other brands that make similar claims, but 10/10 would recommend to a friend! :) Honestly, I was already sold based on the improvements in the way my skin looks and feels, but it doesn't hurt that the salon is adorable, and everyone goes out of their way to make me feel appreciated every time I go in. read more

The customer service here is top notch! They are the sweetest. I was at the stretch lab when I decided to try this place from a post I saw on TikTok. I was greeted by the sweet receptionist named Aja. My first experience was not the best but she encouraged me to try again and hooked me up with the best aesthetician the next time around. She did such a great job that I became a member. Fast forward, I have not been able to come on a regular and was informed that if I didn't use my facials per month that I would lose them. I became so angry that I wanted to cancel. When I went in for what would have been my last facial, I spoke with the manager Ariel who was simply amazing. Horrible experience. I chose 2 appointments, it put them into my cart, I paid. I showed up with my partner and they said only one was booked. I paid for 2. They blamed me and user error. My partner didn't want to do it alone, they still charged for it. I reached out via email asking for my money back for my appointment (that they said I didn't book but that they charged me for), they refused to refund me. They instead said theyd give me a complimentary additional facial to make up for the one my Partner never received. I had my first facial ever done here, and I had such a good experience! They walked through everything that they were doing and answered any questions I had. I did the pink facial (the anti-aging line), and my face was GLOWING after. They are very thoughtful throughout the facial (making sure the towels weren't too hot, taking care to make sure all my hairs were tucked underneath the headband). My favorite part was the cooling globes (which you can purchase if you like). After the facial, you can buy the products that they used that day if they really worked for you! TL;DR: It's worth your money. Go. I was able to use their Feb special of getting a free facial (usually $50!) since I had proof of living in the area. I read every single review, and I was nervous about going because I am aggressively protective of my skin. I broke my skin barrier with a chemical exfoliant a handful of months ago and it has only just healed. So, I was ready to go and ask about every single product they were going to use on my face. I was offered the "Virgin Bundle" which is extractions, pumpkin peel, and oxygen boost for $35 instead of $50. I was hesitant, but I'm SO GLAD I did it! The extractions hurt a smidge, but I'm also extremely sensitive. She also showed me some of the gunk she got out of pores - super gross, but I felt great knowing it was now out of my skin and it wasn't going to like "traumatize" my pores like I would have done at home. Looking at my face later and the next day, the extractions were truly worth it! Loved the pumpkin peel (like a tingling enzyme-y sensation) and would probably splurge the $20 every so often if I could. Oxygen boost was fine and fun. I'm not 100% on the effects it has for my face, but it was fun to try. Lisseth was so lovely and calm! I appreciated how gentle she was with the whole experience and how she talked about each step, the products, and the effect it should have with my skin. I felt like she listened to my skin concerns and even gave me a lot of insight into my skin! I really loved the 30 minutes. So now, it's the day after and my skin is still glowing!!!! I was nervous about any irritation or redness, but I was lucky and I'm just glowy. Got a new member here! This place has become my saving grace. I eagerly anticipated the grand opening and I'm really glad I became a member. As a Chicago transplant the isolation from the pandemic has been especially hard for me. So coming to CYDF gives me something to look forward to each week. Working remote has its perks because I'm able to book appointments between work meetings and it's honestly the best pick me up. In just a few short weeks Karina has learned my needs and she has even remembered to ask about my French Bulldog when I come in. It feels like a personalized experience every time. I love how Karina walks me through the entire process, and how she explains what products and ingredients she is using. My skin is hyper sensitive so I appreciate her attention to detail.
