My massage therapist brought me back and I told him why I was there and that I hadn't had a massage before. I also disclosed I really don't like being touched and am nervous about this. He was respectful and kind and honored my privacy as I got ready. Then he applied the perfect amount of pressure to exactly the right places to ease my back tension, asking throughout if it was okay and not too painful.
