I found Kara through a Groupon and it was the best massage I've had in years. Her rates are very reasonable for the area and her personality is very welcoming. First - she is a very experienced massage therapist. Her knowledge of the body is incredible. I hold my stress in my neck and shoulders, so that's always an area of focus for me. The way she worked that out was unique - not overly focused on a specific spot and she added in lengthening the muscles down my sides. It was the first time anybody had ever done that and I've felt great since then. Second - she has unique hours of operation and books out pretty far. She's worth the wait. Don't get upset if she has to cancel an appointment - she'll reschedule with you as soon as she can. I had two appointments canceled on me for family reasons. I'm never one to leave online reviews but I received a Truly Gifted Therapy couples massage (groupon) as a gift about two months ago and the experience was out of this world (in the best way). I've never found such a gem on Groupon, considering she is worth every dollar of the full price massages she offers. Before my Truly Gifted massage, I had had several other types of massages in and out of the U.S. and THIS massage was by far the best. The studio is clean, relaxing, and inviting. I could see that everything from the bed I laid on to aromatherapy and massage oils were all high-grade therapeutic quality. The owner gave me and my partner our massages and the difference in relief to how we felt physically was INSTANT. I am constantly in neck, shoulders, and lower back pain but since my massage two months ago, I walk entirely more upright and I carry a lighter walk. She even shared with me the specific names of the muscles where I hurt most and offered easy to understand explanations and forms of future treatment, which for me was and still is absolutely priceless. She was so professional and dedicated to her craft. She never rushed us and took extra time to explain the aches I felt, while using her knowledge to share how I can continue my healing at home and with my partner (gotta start stretching!). The experience with Truly Gifted Therapy is just as it is named- a gift! If I could exceed a 5 star review with more stars I would because of the quality of the massage and how she goes above and beyond. I visited Kara using a Groupon in January. All went well and I bought her membership from Vagaro. It lets you get night/weekend massages, 20% off, and 1 wellness gift per month. She cancelled on me twice before Covid strikes. Covid strikes and I continue to pay as I like supporting the community. She calls to offer in home massage being that I'm a member. She comes once and it went well. She then flaked on me 2 Sunday's in a row. I scheduled for a Sunday and she texts me 25 minutes before the appointment (10am) saying her daughter "had a nightmare" and "kept her up all night." I say "okay no worries how's next Sunday?" She goes "that works great" next Sunday comes and she texts me 30 minutes after my appointment start time (730 pm) saying she "just woke up" and can't "borrow her dads car." LOL. Is Uber not a thing or at least letting me know earlier instead of sleeping through my appointment time? We schedule for today (Monday) and she said 7pm. Great. 745 rolls around and she blocks my number lol. I have given her business ~$1000 total and this is how she treats her "committed clients". I can't make this up. Go elsewhere. Oh! Absolutely wonderful. I bought a Groupon to try this place out. Kara doesn't treat Groupon customers any differently than a regular customer which is rare. She's also very skilled - I work at a desk 10+ hours a day. Kara knew almost immediately and really worked on the tough knots. The massage tool is intense but effective at loosening things up. I used a Groupon here recently and left as a very satisfied customer who plans to return. The therapy room is one of many small suites inside Salons by JC. Just follow the hallway to the right until you see it. Parking was fairly easy on the street on a Saturday morning. Kara was waiting for me and asked me about my needs and massage likes/dislikes as I filled out the health history paperwork. I booked a Deep Tissue Massage, so she asked if I was ok with using the Hypervolt therapy gun. It was nice to have so much say in my experience, and the therapy gun helped break up the knots in my back and neck before beginning the traditional massage work. Kara is a pro, and was able to find knots on the side of my rib cage and neck that others haven't. I also really enjoyed the hot towel application, warm table, and relaxing music.
