If your idea of a vacation includes being awake all night, this is the place for you. A rooster perched right outside my window started crowing at 12:30 AM and didn't stop until 5:00 AM. I got maybe 2 hours of sleep. This is not "local charm"--it's completely unacceptable. At 4:00 AM I went to the front desk asking for another room. Esther told me nothing was available. That was false. I saw multiple empty rooms myself, and the next morning overheard the manager (Marsha) confirming they were in fact available. They will all cover for each other and lie. Can you imagine they're getting paid to stay up all night but you're not ! How hard would it have been to move us to another room? Esther'sresponse was someone needs to call animal control. How about you? Do your job and care about your customers needs. Security (Frankie) refused to help at all, offering excuses instead of doing anything useful--even though the problem was right outside my room. I told him the rooster was right in the tree and he said I can't step on the beach. We don't own it.. Their solution? A $50 credit on a $200+ stay and about the same in food and drinks. Knowing I didn't sleep. A joke. The manager could care less at this facility if you sleep at all. So to summarize: no sleep, dishonest staff, and zero accountability. Plenty of better places to stay--choose one of those. They clearly do not care about their customers... Do better. PS. I was told I would receive a $50 credit for not sleeping at all... and guess what ? As of today, still haven't received it ..once again ,another lie. This place is a joke. Service is slow on all levels, restaurant and front desk, maintenance, etc. Room wasn't ready until 5, that room had no water. Took an hour to get another room. That room had no hair dryer, 2 trips to front desk and an hour later, still no hair dryer. Sat at restaurant for 15 min. No service. Moved to bar, finally someone spoke to us. I will start with the positive the check in staff was friendly and efficient. The location is close to the airport. Lastly we had a beautiful view from our room. That is the good. The reality is that this hotel is old and worn. There is sand everywhere in every part of the room including the bed. The food at the restaurant was mediocre. They give you a buy one get one drink coupon and then don't take it off the bill. We will never stay here again and would not recommend it. Don't take the taxi to the airport. They will charge you $15 per person for a, 3 minute ride. It is walkable. read more

So this was a last minute booking. Hotel was very clean, staff were nice. Everyone greets you when they see you. We ate breakfast every morning, which was tasty. The pool was clean and cold. stayed in this place on 4/10/2026 and 4/17/2026 as a bookend to a vacation. The place is not at all what was described. From the instant you approach the "resort " you find the automatic doors not working. The lobby was dirty with cobwebs all over. The staff is not friendly and a 4:00 check in is unacceptable when traveling. We went to the so-called restaurant to get something to eat. Slow service over priced bland food awaits. The rooms had a fine coating of beach sand and the water in our first room did not work. The corporation that owns this place need to put several hundred thousand dollars into cleaning and updating. This is a motel adjacent to the airport. No elevator. No bell hops. No shower curtain - only a half wall that allows water to spray all over the toilet while you duck your head under the equivalent of a kitchen spigot. Wife and I wanted to relax and she wanted to stay at a beach. So we searched prices (it is off season) and costs ranged from $1200 to $5000 for 6 days. We booked the lower end at Emerald Beach. 1) Requesting our king bed/1st floor since my wife recently had her knee replaced. It was "not available". So they put us in a different room and would have our request ready the 2nd day. 2) Unlike many other reviews, both rooms in Building 1 were clean and relatively good looking. 3) Refrigerator in room was so cold it froze everything you put into it. Asked it to be fixed or replaced - NOTHING. 4) Hot water was minimal. 5) Like to read early mornings and light was out on porch. Asked to have it looked at - NOTHING. 6) Restaurant was ok. High prices and average food but prices no worse than other restaurants on the island. 7) Christian (waiter) is phenomenal - friendly and quite knowledgeable and referred us to great spots to go to. 8) Next to airport, sometimes quite loud, but totally ok. 9) Staff at front desk not friendly or helpful whatsoever. 10) Beach was beautiful. The sandy areas next to the hotel and out 20-30 feet should be cleaned up now and often. Never touched during our 6 day stay. Summary - would return but really hope that they start fixing up the problems listed by me and many others. read more

Where do I begin? Upon arrival, there was a shirtless man arguing with the staff in the lobby. He was calling everyone in the hotel rude. He threw a tantrum, etc. Strange? Not the strangest encounter we had in our 24 hours at Emerald Beach. Next, I'll start with the pros. Pros: Friendly Staff Close to the Airport Easy to Acquire a Taxi Has a Bar Nice Pool Nice Beach Access Updated bathroom mirrors Cheesy Dolphin Lamp with chips (see picture) Cons: No Food-the kitchen was being renovated. No one made us aware of this. They did offer a shuttle to their sister property down the road. I'll get to that soon. Water Situation-My husband wasn't sure if it was Katy Perry or Russell Brandt. The shower was either scorching hot or ice cold. The handle to turn the water on was also living on a prayer. I was scared it might fall off at any moment. Toilet-it kept moving when I sat down to use it making for an awkward restroom experience. I'm not a large individual. Bedding-There were multiple stains on the blankets on our bedding. Picture below. Food-Dining at the "sister property" was an experience. The lunch service was horrible. I felt like we were bothering the server. No worries though, she gets to add her gratuity and we had to pay it! We went back for dinner and the staff was actually much nicer and did not hate life. We even tipped them extra. The food was actually serviceable. However, I would prefer to eat at the "resort" where I book. The "shuttle" back to Emerald Beach. This proved to be a challenge. We had to ask the staff at Lindbergh Bay multiple times for assistance. Finally, they let us know that the shuttle was on the way. The shuttle arrived and the driver came to the lobby for us. We walked out and there was a German Shepherd locked in the car. The passenger argued that the driver had locked the door. The driver argued that it was the passenger. Next, the passenger decided that the dog had locked the door. The dog owner then wanted the shuttle driver to bust his window to liberate the German Shepherd. Drama ensued. We walked the .06 miles back to Emerald Beach. (We saw the shuttle driver later. His wife brought a spare key and the dog was freed.) Cleaning fee-At checkin, we were advised that excessively dirty rooms would be charged an extra 250$ cleaning fee. I'm not sure what that is as it wasn't defined. I documented the photos in this review. Overall, Emerald Bay isn't bad for someone that needs a place to stay for a night before a flight. However, this is not a "resort". Don't be fooled if you're used to a typical resort that you would see anywhere else. You will not find it here, and you may not find food either. read more

The parking garage does not let you know the height limit so we had damage done to our cargo carrier, we didn't have a single blanket in our condo the entire week. Upon arrival the master bedroom bed didn't even have sheets on it. You have to ride two elevators and an escalator to get from the parking garage to your condo. Most of the week one or more sets of elevators were not working. Our condo was so hot the majority of the week it was hard to even sleep no matter how many times we tried to adjust the a/c it would always go back to 76 degrees in there. Or fridge would not cool our drinks. We will not be back. Our friends we were traveling with had their belongings stolen right off the beach in broad daylight while they were out there. I checked into the hotel Saturday,8/28/23. My room wasn't quite ready so I went down and grabbed a drink at the beach bar. I went to bed fairly early. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling like something was biting me in the bed. So I went to get in the other bed and the sheets were full of sand! Obviously sheets hadn't been changed on either bed. I woke up covered in red bites!! I was at the desk at 6am to tell the staff and request room change. Of course no one was at the desk so I had to wait for some to finally show up. My room was changed. At this point I had no idea if it was bedbugs or fleas of some sort. I tried to make the best of Sunday and left Monday. On the flight back home my eye began to swell. Now I'm worried about an allergic reaction to bites. Went to the doctor Tuesday morning as the bites were spreading. I was told I had SCABIES! This is a microscopic mite that burrows in your skin and is highly contagious!! The cream wasn't stopping the spread and I was in the ER by Thursday! They said I had significant bites! I was given Ivermectin( used to kill parasites in animals and humans) This ER visit was $944.00. I was also told the infection in my eye was due to unclean bedding most likely. My credit card company has tried to dispute the 2 nights. Hotel is refusing to give me a refund. Several guest were having issues. One person had changed rooms 4 times! Also their credit card machine went out more than once and your expected to pay cash right then. They won't charge to your room. Which is a bit odd. I typically don't carry much cash traveling. Taxis only take cash also. I've traveled all over the Caribbean and overseas, and have never had an experience like this. read more

Overall it was a great stay. Wi-Fi is not the best and the TV plays limited channels. But we had a wonderful time and you can't complain when your hotel is on the first floor and steps away from the beach. The service was great and they had plenty of fresh towels for the beach. With the restaurants connected to the resort we didn't need to leave much. That being said $3 for a bottle of water is a bit excessive and you might want to go shopping for little things so you're not overcharged. Also there's a lot of fun activities to do next to the resort beach we went to a water obstacle course, There is also a place where you can rent JetSki's and paddle boats. The locals were nice and you will enjoy your stay here. Just make sure you have deet spray because mosquitoes get in your room somehow. read more

Unfortunately, I did not get to come here due to an overly strict cancellation policy. I was not able to change the dates on my trip here, even tho I tried well in advance. Mind you I said reschedule not cancel. I'm being told "unless you have a flight cancellation, you can't cancel or change your reservation" please always get insurance on your trips, this is crazy. I would not recommend this place, clearly they only care about money and not actually providing a great experience. read more

The restaurant service is horrible! We sat down nobody acknowledged us, we sat for 10 minutes while the servers tended to other customers I had to ask for a menu but was told breakfast was over. Then I asked for a lunch menu and they finally said lunch is at 12 and sat down playing on her phone! For over $220 a night they should have a proper shower... instead it went from Luke warm to scolding hot the entire duration of the shower!!! It sucked. We tried the night before and the morning after and I ended up skipping the night before as it made me cold and miserable. Mosquitos got in our room and ate us. The AC is either cold and hitting you on the bed or off and the room is getting wetter and warmer... I love how many pillows they give and I slept comfortably - I also like the restaurant on the property but I can hear woohooing at every hour and I can hear the upstairs people walk all around and the drunks at the bar. Feels like no insulation. The restaurant closes down at 9:30pm and luckily still took orders five minutes prior so I was grateful for that. I wasn't a big fan of their sushi (didn't taste fresh) and their Alfredo was horrible and their food is so pricey. But the service was great and tacos were good. It is also a short distance from the airport and cruise port peer (about ten mins to both). Also getting to the rooms with lots of luggage is a total drag - literally! No elevator so we are dragging our heavy bags up and down stairs. Brutal. read more

This place has great potential. Great location near the airport and right on the beach. Needs a major update. Not sure if they just haven't recovered fully from the hurricane a few years ago or just don't have the capital to invest in a major overhaul. Rooms are dated, my AC never got the room cool enough. The shower has a large shower head in it that you have to turn against the wall or risk spraying water on the floor because the shower curtain is to short to keep the water in. Others in my group complained they had only 30 seconds of hot water before it turned cold. I didn't have that issue. View from the rooms a really nice. Grounds could use a little landscaping. Restaurant food is average nothing great. Service is very slow and food is overpriced. But the whole island is that way. Overall my stay was not unpleasant. I enjoyed the view from the room and having the beach a few steps away. With a little TLC this place could be awesome. read more

The Resort: I was in St. Thomas on business and liked that the resort was within walking distance to the airport. The view are great and Beach is perfect for relaxing and reading a book after a long day. At night the bar was quiet and the spicy wings were fantastic. My room was dark good size and clean except for the room sink which was obviously clogged with hair. I've seen cleaner public restrooms at a gas station and the gym looked like it's been abandoned for years. Minor annoyances when working but not where I'd spend a vacation. read more

Okay so I am going to just list our Pro's & Con's as that's the only fair way to do this: Pros: - located right next to the airport. Can't be late for your flight! Get to watch the planes land/takeoff if that's your thing or if you have kids. (This is also a con because the flights begin at 7am). - there's an on-site restaurant and bar. There will be more info on the cons list. - there's a pool (we didn't use it but it looked nice) and it's right on the beach, with beach chairs and balconies overlook it. - there's a mini refrigerator in the room. - plenty of parking. Cons: - the rooms need MAJOR updating and don't give off that clean feeling. Our bathroom seemed dirty, there are a lot of things that need replacing and this place just needs a lot of love. The AC wasn't very strong. - roosters - they start around 5 am so if you're a light sleeper you're screwed. And then when you finally get back to sleep the planes start. Also, the hens lay eggs on the balcony and squawk at you if you go out there. - the restaurant was closed then partially open. I went by there for breakfast and there was a single waitress working and she seemed very much in the weeds, ended up getting the food to go and the order had been missed initially but then finally fulfilled after an hour. Don't come here if you are rushing to the airport or are famished. Come to the restaurant if you are in the mood to do some waiting with beautiful views (right in the beach) or just get it to go. Also, pricey for the food that was mediocre. Overall, it's a hotel on the beach. So if you don't plan on being in the room all that much, and aren't bothered by a place that's not pristine, this is your spot. But there are far more spots that have been kept up to date and for a similar price. Can't beat the view and the beach on premises! read more

I am currently staying at this resort. I want to first start off by saying that the beach is lovely and the resort is walking distance from airport. They also have plenty of taxi there to take u where u need to go. Warning don't let them over charge u the prices are set on a board for public display. They tried to over charge me. Check in did not go as planned even though I reserved a month in advance I still had to wait for a room. The lady at the desk wasn't very friendly either. The view from the room is breathtaking. Room is pretty basic no microwave but has mini fridge and coffee maker. If ur looking for plush this hotel ain't it. Motel 6 vibes. Also has issues with getting room cleaned . Had to go to the desk almost everyday for towels. They have a restaurant there on site very expensive but one night I had a very delicious dinner of stuffed salmon but the two times I had breakfast there it was horrible and very expensive.Take from me catch a taxi to T restaurant and chicken fry. Best stewed chicken, rice and Peas and plantain I've ever had. It is in a rough part of town but not too far off the main highway. The beach the hotel is on is not private so many of the locals frequent it and that lovely because you can ask them where the best place to go to eat and shop are. Lastly no fault of the the hotel but worth mentioning there are some very loud and not considerate people here now. They're arguing on the balcony as we speak also one lady was shouting on the phone while at breaksfast about someone messing up her section 8. The point to this review is if u enjoy the beach and except nothing else this is the place to go. The view and the beach itself is what made me rate this resort 3 stars read more

Family member got sick due to mold exposure. Food is way too over priced for what it is, and there is no other option in walking distance - they also block Uber eats for delivery service. The hotel also has a deal with the cruise ships in town, place turns into a complete beach carnival. 0/10 read more

The restaurant was filthy, and the service extremely poor. The waitress took forever to take the order, and the food was really bad. Once we received the bill, a 20% gratuity was automatically added, hence the level and quality of service. October 2018 Cons: Room was dirty and untidy, shower had some weird things going on with it, mildew, thin sand papers towels, the beach towels that you check out from the front desk are stained with holes in them, the restaurant has mediocre food, nothing in immediate walking distance, Internet is spotty, sand is tracked all through the restaurant because there is only a common bucket of water that everyone dips their dirty feet in - no hose or shower. Pros: Close to the airport, big beds, right on the beach which is gorgeous, all rooms have a view, drink specials for guests, free lounge chairs and umbrellas on beach, near jet ski rental, air conditioning, mini-fridge, pool with waterfall, friendly staff, beautiful grounds with chickens and lizards. Overall, this is not a luxury resort that looks to still be recovering from the hurricane. It is fine if you need a place to stay for a night before you fly out. read more

Where do I begin? I am currently staying here as I write this. I check in on Saturday afternoon. We have a party of 20 staying at the hotel. We ask to stay in the same building weeks ago and provide the hotel with the names. That was not done properly. I was told I would be moved the next day that did not happen. Once I checked in to my room. The room was not made correctly. No towels, sand all over the floor. I did let the front desk know Of the issue. When it came to taking a shower there is no hot water. I complain every day about the water. They claim to have to maintenance to come to the room and check it. The water started to get lukewarm after 30 mins running the water. On the second night I pull my sheets back and see bugs in my bed. I called the front desk they came and put new sheets on the bed. By the way the beds are not comfortable. My ac is leaking water. I am not able to control the thermostat. I am still waiting for maintenance to "see the water" on my floor. When I told the lady at the front desk she was said "I have To see it." Please do not eat at the restaurant the food is horrible. They use frozen pizza on their menu and want to charge you $20. The burgers are not good. The only thing I did like was their onion rings I would not recommend this resort at all. read more

Possibly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. hot water was hit or miss. over an hour just to get waited on in the restaurant. Everything is dirty and run down. The blanket on the bed was torn and had big stains on it. The tile floor was oily and dirty. Most of the staff is just worn out from complaints so they've become completely ambivalent to any issue. It gets 1 star because of the view, otherwise I'd give it a zero if possible. There was another positive, Tyler at the bar was the only staff actually getting people served quickly. She was so understanding when I called to let her know due to the winter blast in Dallas we were not able to make it to our connecting flight to the Virgin Islands. Her kind words help calmed down my distress. She assure me all would be okay and it was. The moment we arrived at Emerald my husband and I had the best time. The staff was so welcoming and so nice. Amazing drinks at the bar. I love that the beach was right in front of the resort. There was always transportation available to go out and explore the island. Also, if you are staying at Emerald talk to Michelle in advance. She did a beautiful setup in our room to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Was ok that we only stayed one night. It is a horrible check in process. We had 12 couples. And there were other random people checking in and no ones rooms were ready at check in time. The rooms all had something wrong with them. Half of the air conditioners were not working. The water was either scalding hot or cold. One room had roaches in it. And most staff were very rude. Some were pleasant. Mostly by the bar and restaurant. It is conveniently located by the airport though and that was our goal. read more

If could rate this places zero I would in a heartbeat. Great location but TERRIBLE resort. This is a place to grab food and drinks but not a place to stay. The front staff is okay- the check in process took a while and they told us it'll be ready at 4:00 but they didn't let us check in until 5:30. The room was terrible- the shower barely worked and the AC never once worked correctly. The shower dripped water out with it's bad pressure. The AC was at 65 which was the lowest temp. The room was so hot and humid--that I was tempted to sleep on the beach instead. We immediately called the front to have maintenance come by and check but ABSOLUTELY NO ONE came by. We cut our stay early and left because 2 days was a hell hole. The only pro is the BAR was amazing. Great place to hangout and super cool bartenders.
