I usually order a pb&j or peanut passion with vegan protein. I'm a traveling salesman by day and a power lifter by night. I hit almost every emerald city smoothie joint in the Seattle-Tacoma area. I asked the barista what creatine they put in the smoothie he said he wasn't allowed to tell me. I asked if it was monohydrate or hydrochloride or even the amount of mg in a scoop or pill. I just got a blank look like he was annoyed with my questions. I then asked, what could you tell me about the creatine? He replied with this annoyed attitude "my boss says other restaurants don't tell their ingredients so we don't." I explained that I take this supplement at the same time everyday and I just have to know if it fits my nutrition plan. I explained to him usually carry my supplements in my gym bag when I'm on the road but Every once in awhile I'll forget them at home and the other ECS usually come in clutch. He replied with "I don't care." I was just like wowwww. I still ordered and paid for my smoothie with out the creatine. As I'm sitting here drinking this sorry excuse for a smoothie. I'll never be back to this location. One more thing, the taste is very VERY inconsistent to Lakewood, Tacoma, Sammamish, the 2 locations in Kent and New location at Southcenter to name a few. It has upset me enough to write this review. Cheapest of the cheap ingredients IMO. read more

This is my first bad review and I don't mean to be rude, but I can't help to warn you about these crappy smoothies. My husband and I are regulars at the Shoreline location and we have a few favorite flavors, but the ladies there have the recipe to perfect ratios. This was our first and last time coming to this aurora location. Our smoothies literally taste like a bunch of powder. My Zone zinger tastes like the childhood strawberry gogurt with extra chemicals and powder. Also, the man on site making smoothies was not very interactive and wasn't really open to any questions. He gave me a small size but never asked what size I would like and normally the regular size is the 24oz. It's okay if I have a small size smoothie I don't mind but this was just overall a really disappointing experience for us. :( read more

I love the chocolate espresso smoothie! It's so good ! And the owner is pretty cool very nice remembers my name every time. I'm giving this place 4 stars for that reason. On the other hand it's extremely dirty there's dust all over the supplements in some of the food products which is gross makes me wonder why the owner doesn't care enough about his business to clean it or at least make employees clean it during down time instead of having the tv on watching it but hey that's just my opinion. Zack and Jessica are AWESOME! I admit I a smoothie lover. I would have one of these every day if I could, but what truly sets this place apart for me are the people. When you take the time to get to know Zack and Jessica, your experience becomes about connecting and community. I was disappointed by my smoothie here. Emerald City Smoothie has a smoothie that reminds me of a shake I used to drink a lot from my childhood (and there's protein in it, so even better!). I've been to two other locations (Shoreline 205th and Federal Way 320th), which have made a phenomenal smoothie; however, I WAS BEYOND DISAPPOINTED WITH THEIR SMOOTHIE! I threw it away after a couple sips... It tasted like pure syrup. There's supposed to be pineapple, coconut and almonds in my smoothie, but I only tasted this nasty coconut syrup flavor. There was absolutely no remnant or hint of pineapple or almonds. It was not worth 6 dollars :/ I didn't have any qualms with customer service, but take into consideration that my total visit was under 10 minutes; I came in, ordered, and left with my drink... I guess the one nice thing is that there was free parking, although the parking lot was kind of tight. I will not be returning to this location for any smoothie. I recommend you go elsewhere. read more

I can't say enough great things about this place. I stop in there at least 2-3 times a week, and I love the menu and staff. They are always very friendly, engaging you in conversation and recommending options if they see you keep ordering the same thing. Based on the manager's recommendation, I tried the breakfast blend drink, and it has become one of my favorites now. This is a near perfect location as well, as I can stop in here on my way to work or heading home from work. My only wish is that they were open longer hours. read more

Don't know the name of the lady, she had star tattoos by her ear, pretty middle aged. But she was incredibly rude. I asked for a kale smoothie and she tells me they don't serve it and that I should google that next time. Thinking that they simply didn't serve an entire kale based smoothie I asked for a listed smoothie with kale added. Other Emerald Smoothies I have been to had a kale option but apparently this one did not. Instead of simply explaining that to me she tells me, "we don't have kale here this is what I'm trying to explain to you" completely cutting me off from the conversation. This is my favorite smoothie shop. The flavors, boosts and texture is exactly what I crave. I love this place so much that I will drive out of my way just to get my fix and those cravings come often. My only complaint is the location because I'd love to have one that is on Green Lake instead of grubby Aurora. After a strenuous run or for a healthy morning breakfast, a smoothie is perfect. read more

I am thankful that this location exists so that when I want a low carb mid day at work I can have one. But really this location is a big disappointment. I understand it's a franchise but the fact that the owner chooses to make the drinks his own way vs every other location is a bummer. I've probably had 50 drinks at this location and they are always watered down because he automatically uses water as the base instead of non fat milk. That's not the normal way and I wish he wouldn't do that. The smoothies always taste watered down and lack flavor. I still drink them because they are a high protein meal replacement and I need that. I think it's time that the company step in and require consistency between franchises. I'll keep going sometimes, regardless though because of the convenience. read more

First time coming here was awesome the guy seemed nice and made my drink pretty tasty. Second time I called in my order so it would be ready for me to come get it, I couldn't remember what the name of the drink I had last was but knew it was on their "new specials" board so I asked him; "what's the new mocha drink you guys have?" He gave me a name and I left it at that. I asked him for a medium one of those and TRIED to ask him to put in 2 bananas but he said "oh yeah ok!" And hung up on me as soon as I said "can I get a medium one of those with...". So then I had to call back and tell him that I had just called and wasn't finished with my order and that I wanted 2 bananas in my drink. So I walk over there and he rings me up and gives me 2 drinks..... I told him I only ordered one. He fixed it quickly so that was fine. Drinking my drink now it tastes like there's no bananas and actually a little peanut butter instead? People being impatient and thinking they know everything and how everything is gonna happen and don't LISTEN are one of my pet peeves. read more

I have been to Emerald City Smoothie weekly now for about three months. Jessica has always been great about engaging in conversation. and always greets my friend and I with a smile. She gets the smoothies out quick, but we are usually in there for about 10-15 minutes just to continue having a conversation. It's great seeing someone who pays attention to the customers and compliments them as well. ECS is definitely going to continue being my normal stop. read more

I recently discovered Emerald City Smoothies and instantly fell in love. The staff is always nice, the smoothies are amazing (and good for you, which is what I was looking for) and they always give me the stuff you're supposed to pay extra for, for free...which I love! Even though they still cost about $6 it's pretty comparable to any other smoothie place, plus if you're using it as a meal replacement it's a pretty cheap meal. They also have punch cards, which is always nice that you can get free ones for being a loyal customer. These punch cards are only good at each individual location though from what I understand. Parking is easy and they also have a ton of different nutrition supplements at good prices, if that's something you're interested in getting as well! read more

I have NEVER have had so much disrespect for an employee. I love emerald city smoothie and would like to go to this location if you get rid of her. I work out at golds gym and my class gets over at 730and the sign says you close at 8 so I figured no problem going. So I get in there around 745 and the girl says "we are closing only card no cash" and she said it with so much attitude ugh but that's not a big deal so I was like that's fine. And she looked at me like she was so mad at me for coming in! She was saying how she wanted to leave earlier to go home? I'm sorry but if ur store says you close at 8 you close at 8. What kind of business do you think you are running? I want to come to this place twice a week after my class and I tip really well if ur nice! So how about you take the stick out of your a** and be nice to me or you need to get fired. You are only losing business by having this girl work for you. I would love to come here but if I see her stupid face I'm leaving. While she was making my smoothie another girl walks in and she yells at her " we are closing" and she was like u don't close for ten minutes. Then she said "well I am trying to get home. Card only" and the costumer was thrown off and said "I need a smoothie for my friend in the hospital" and she wasn't even being rude and the girl working said "I have the right to refuse service to anyone so please leave" are you kidding me?!?!? She wasn't rude or out of line or anything? Do you even want to make money??? That girl working is ridiculous. Not only rude but a complete idiot.
