The outside of the building is unassuming and located in the Publix parking lot. Once you get inside you feel welcome. We were quickly greeted by two gents at the counter, and even though the sign said closed at 8 they were busy and invited us in. I asked about local beers and the gentleman at the counter walked my through their selection and even popped one open so I could taste. Perhaps it was humor that my husband and I didn't understand, but neither came across as particularly kind or welcoming. I had recently renewed my ID, and since my state issues a temporary paper ID until the official one arrives in the mail, I brought my passport as well, knowing that temporary paper IDs aren't always accepted in Florida. Since your main job as a cashier at a liquor store is to check ID's I would highly suggest hiring people who can differentiate a real ID from a fake one. Instead of just assuming that it's fake. And then I asked why he "couldn't accept it" and he couldn't give a reason, which adds up considering my ID is real and today was my 23rd birthday! but oh well, I see why the store has a 3.3/5 rating on google, and they have 2.2/5 on yelp. Not to mention, a different woman at the counter sold me 70$ worth of liquor 15 minutes prior to me coming back in and having my ID denied(for the first time ever). Lol read more

They had a sign on the counter pointing towards the door saying they don't have Blanton's, Eagle Rare, Wellers, etc. I tried to joke with them about it and they were jerks. This has been my go-to liquor store for a couple weeks and it's always been a good time. They are located in the strip mall next to Publix and Pizza by the Sea. They have a fabulous wine selection with wine ratings (aka cheat cards) for people like me who don't really know what they're doing. They also sell beer and liquor. I read the other reviews before shopping here so I was on the lookout for rude behavior. During my first visit, the guy was a little dry, but he did his job and gave me helpful feedback on my wine selection. Not sure what else you can expect from someone who works at a liquor store? Efficiency and wine knowledge should probably trump joviality in this case. During my second visit, there were two guys working. One of them cracked a joke and he gave me a recipe for my vodka - SCORE! Tip: You must be 21 to enter the store. Leave your kiddos at home. Or on the sidewalk. Terrible store. Didn't have the liquor I wanted and when I tried to check out with another bottle, they wouldn't sell to me (I'm 23).

I have to agree with most of the others. The big guy behind the counter is a jerk with no personality. There was another older Asian lady working that was nice. They had some high end tequilas in beaded bottles behind the counter that I asked to look at and you'd thought I asked the guy for a loan. If I'm spending $300+ on something I want to check it out. He was such a jerk I left and bought a "Tears of Llorona" at Shunk Gulley liquors instead (and got GREAT service from both employees working). read more

I ran in quickly to pick up enough Amaretto and a shot of whiskey we needed for a nightcap for my in-laws. I was greeted warmly as I entered by the employee sitting outside on a bench. However, when he realized I didn't want to spend a lot of money but only $5 of sample size, he rolled his eyes and treated me like crap while he finished the transaction. If you are concerned about your health, stay away from this place. It is 12/31/21 and COVID is raging all over the country. I am immunocompromised and wear a mask. Having shopped at this place several times before, I went there to get some beer and bourbon to be used as gifts. I wore a mask inside. None of the proprietors were wearing masks. One guy is morbidly obese. He was operating the cash register. As I was checking out, he looked at me and made a huge sigh, blasting his fat lips together and spitting all over me. I stepped to the left, appalled. As a follow up, he started blowing air out of his mouth saying he wished the fog would go away. It was unlike any behavior I've seen anywhere. That tub of lard weaponized his nasty breath. I can say with absolute certainty, if I come down with COVID as a result of his actions, I will pursue every legal channel possible. In the meantime, karma and natural selection may visit fat boy. So please folks, be aware of what you are walking into. read more

I agree with the previous post. The guy at the counter (says he's the owner) is unbelievably rude. SRB is a small close-knit community. I guess he doesn't understand that. He screamed at little kids that were in front is store claiming they were blocking people from coming in - keep in mind no one was in his store at the time & that his store is next to a very popular kids' pizza place! On a recent trip I thought it would be nice to support local merchants and buy beer there rather than Publix. They sold about three types of beer including one outrageously overpriced local beer. When I asked why they didn't carry more, the response what I got was "there's no money in beer". Obviously, they're more concerned with what they can make money on rather than the convenience of their customers. They also act like they're doing you a favor by selling you liquor or wine. Was looking for some quality bourbon for my father in law on our vacation. I ran into Publix and searched up and down and was baffled at my ineptitude in finding anything other than beer and wine. Being from Louisiana, I often forget not all states are created equally-- meaning that you cannot buy liquor in grocery stores lol. Anyhow, I ran into Emerald and was incredibly pleased at their selection. The ONLY complaint I have is the overwhelming friendliness of the two guys that helped me make my selection. I will definitely be back. I may even give them a shout and get them to send me some bourbon's that I can't find in LA. I have never had a better experience in a liquor store. As locals in this area we try to always support the businesses around us. After yet another negative experience tonight we will never return to this store. We were looking for a liquor store en route to Rosemary from Destin. We stopped at Wine World-struck out. Then looked for another that Google maps had that turned out to be a gated community... ??? Then I found this one. Right next to a Publix grocery store. I didn't read the reviews, but here's mine. When I walked in, there was a gentleman that had just walked in and held the door for us. He was asking where a specific pharmacy was. The man that worked there asked his wife that was at the counter. They talked for awhile and seemed to be genuinely interested in helping the guy. We were looking for Malibu, but a certain flavor called Sunshine. It wasn't on the shelf with the other Malibu products. Not seeing any displays I figured they didn't have it. Most liquor stores operate on the basis that if they have it, it's out. We bought some Malibu and some 1800 Margarita ready to pour. They also mentioned they had salt and fresh limes. Very handy. Of course, we needed that. They were friendly to us and we got basically what we needed. Not that picky when it comes to liquor. I would come back. read more

Last summer I rode a bike to this store to buy a bottle of tequila and asked the 2 guys behind the counter if they had a box to put the bottle in so it wouldn't break in the bikes basket. The 1 put the bottle in a bag and handed it to me while giving me a dumb look, the other offered me a bag with a handle on it. I saw they had a few empty wine boxes next to the counter so I put the bottle in the middle of 1 of the boxes with the padding around it and jammed it in the basket. I saw the 2 guys watching me and realized the dumb look the 1 gave me earlier was just part of his personality. There are 3 reasons the store stays in business. #1 location. #2 location. And guess what #3 is..... location. Their prices are much higher than any other store, but that's the area they are in and they can get away with that, but there is no excuse for the attitudes and the rudeness. If you can go to ANY other liquor store even if it's farther away from where you are take the drive to avoid this 1, that's what I did this vacation. read more

Went there today and the two gentleman behind the counter had us cracking up. They were super knowledgeable and very friendly. I talked whiskey with them for several minutes and they spoke the language. It was nice finding a place while we were visiting that also carried somethings that were harder to find at home like Birddog, whistle pig and Willett.
