My middle son ordered the Monster Omelette, and "monster" is no exaggeration--it was absolutely stuffed with fillings and cooked perfectly. My youngest son chose the Crab Benedict, and he said it was incredibly tasty as well. Every plate that came to our table looked amazing, and everyone left full and happy. Before we left, we couldn't resist picking out a box of donuts to take back to our vacation home--and we're so glad we did! Every donut we tried was absolutely delicious. We shared a raspberry-filled, a chocolate cake donut, and several others, and every single one was fresh, flavorful, and worth every bite. If you visit, don't leave without trying a slice of the Key Lime Pie--it was fantastic! In fact, everything was so good that we ended up making a second trip back just to grab more treats before heading home. I was tempted to turn around when I drove up and the line was out the door. But decided to stay. The sign on the door says dine in to the left, and takeout to the right, but in addition the door also says keep door closed at all times. That was a bit of a discrepancy, but someone walked up and told me if I was just getting donuts I could just got to the register. Thanks to that person! The donuts at this place were delicious!! BLUF: Excellent breakfast all day and delicious, fresh donuts in a diner-like atmosphere. My party of three arrived at The Donut Hole to a long-ish line down the ramp and I was wondering if it's worth it. It is! The Donut Hole most certainly has diner vibes and I suspect the booths are original to its 1978 origins - both of which made for a nostalgic experience. Although named for the sweet, fried confections, The Donut Hole has a huge menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner items. My table all ordered breakfast even though it was lunch time. The breakfast was awesome - omelettes, pancakes, poached eggs, cheese grits, coffee and the most delicious rye bread. I had the sausage and cheese omelet and there was something about it that made it better than other omelettes I've had. Also, I loved the rye bread - it was sliced thicker than what I am used to and it was very pillowy. I enjoyed it dry but it was also good with a little butter. We waited about 20 or so minutes for a table, but once seated we enjoyed prompt, attentive, excellent service. And's let's not forget to talk about the fresh made donuts! Oh my, there were a lot of flavors to choose from and none of them disappointed. Initially I went with a chocolate frosted and Bavarian cream filled donut. But then a fresh tray of key line donuts came out and I had to get one of those too. My sister ordered a few and we took them back to our rental, cut them in quarters and had a donut tasting party. Donut Hole is the cutest diner that makes me feel like I'm eating breakfast in the 90s. The prices are very fair for their portions, especially in this area where eating out can be very expensive. I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience was disappointing from the moment we walked in. We were a party of five and simply asked if we could be seated together instead of being split between multiple tables. Rather than treating our request respectfully, several staff members became visibly frustrated. Throughout the interaction, employees repeatedly pointed and looked over at our group while talking amongst themselves, making it obvious we were the topic of conversation. One female older staff member approached us with a noticeably passive-aggressive attitude, repeatedly pointing around the restaurant and saying, "There's an open table, there's an open table, there's an open table," instead of calmly explaining the situation. The tone was unnecessary and unprofessional. To make matters worse, we could clearly overhear employees talking about us from across the restaurant. At one point, we heard someone named Rainy say, "They won't even pull up a chair." The problem is that no one ever offered us that as an option. Instead of communicating with us directly, the staff chose to complain about us within earshot. Our request was reasonable, and the way we were treated felt completely unprovoked. No customer should feel singled out, mocked, or talked about by employees while standing in the restaurant. The staff needs better training in professionalism and customer service. Unfortunately, this experience left us with no desire to return. read more

We came here on a weekday morning and it was packed. There was a line out the door to get seated (but still easy to park in their private lot) so luckily we were just there to get donuts and pastries, which has a separate line that was much shorter. We waited in this for a few minutes, but were able to glance at their large selection of items. The were all out of the chocolate cake with chocolate glaze, but had everything else we wanted and the staff was patient as we made our decision. Some of the unique ones we enjoyed were the nutella donut, the peanut butter donut and the key lime filled. Other than those, we got the red velvet, bavarian, and a couple of varieties of chocolate. It all tasted fresh and were a decent size. I even reheated a few a couple of days later and it tasted great. I hope to dine in here one day although there will probably be a wait. read more

All of the donuts we tried were good, but the sour cream donut was the standout. It had a rich, buttery flavor, a moist cake texture, and just the right amount of sweetness. We got: toasted coconut, glazed, coconut chocolate, key lime filled, raspberry filled, blueberry cake, powdered and red velvet. All were great but that key lime filled is the winner. The red velvet was good, but be warned since they use red dye you may see some of that dye later IYKYK Day two: tried sit down breakfast. Their omlets are huge and great. Don't go with the biscuit for your side- pretty dry. The pancakes are gigantic! Could for sure share an order. Day three: went back for more donuts on the drive home. We just walked out of Another Broken Egg Cafe due to not being seated pleasantly or even politely. Our hostess slammed our tableware/napkin roll up on top of a table. We walked out! We are locals and hope they don't need much business from us during the off season! We walked into the Donut Hole down the street. We were greeted by Rene (pronounced Rainey, male server). He greeted us, seated us, served us, packed up our leftovers we wanted to take home and was swift, courteous, everything on our order was perfectly cooked.
