I have had dental issues before and so, when she was suggesting a procedure to reveal more tooth, cutting away gum tissue, so casually, I knew this was really an oral surgery procedure, and she was NOT an oral surgeon. While she might have been able to do this, it would have been not at all in MY best interests in light of prior dental traumas and discomfort. She was told this and said she could give me a valium. A very imo, stupid suggestion in that while I am a young senior, I am at this time using a walker and anything that would potentially make me unsteady could lead to a fall and injury would be ill advised. It became to me very apparent that she was not the type of caring professional I anticipated and was too anxious to do a procedure that would not be in MY best interests though would bring in some income for the business she was part of. I did have a follow up visit because the night of the first visit, the tooth basically disintegrated when I bit on something, and I went back to see if the treatment plan was still feasible even though I would not have her do the initial care, which I had indicated would be likely since I knew an oral surgeon. While she still thought it was doable, I had happened prior to have a visit scheduled with my retiring dds of many years. And when she saw the tooth remains, in its current condition, she was shocked, and concluded as I had, that long term the tooth was not going to survive and what was left needed to be removed and potentially replaced. To think that I went out of my way at great expense (for transportation) for this "care". The other DDS in the practice gets good reviews. For routine care perhaps they are fine. But I will not be back. Even if I lived down the block, I would hesitate. This particular DDS only enhanced my general distrust of dentists.

They directed me to Cleveland Dental Institute…read morein which my mom and I had to wait FOUR hours to talk to an oral hygienist and she said the tooth was not falling out and that I just needed a root canal. I WILL NOT get another root canal and overdose on acetominophen with liver failure like last time when I got it done by a student (because the nurses kept telling me to take 2 tylenol every time I called in pain...couldn've had a lawsuit there...Case Dental School). Anyways, so, even though my old dentist does not accept insurance anymore, I wanted THE TRUTH. All I needed was my tooth grinded down a bit to reduce the pain and minimize the tooth movement. And I had to pay $355 to see him. So Advanced Dental Center cost me $355 and 4 hours of my time at Cleveland Dental Institute when my tooth only needed to be grinded down. HORRIBLE! And when they said my tooth was falling out, they said they couldn't give me pain medication when I was bleeding and crying in pain. They're dentists, but cannot provide medication for tooth pain? So if you have tooth pain, DON'T GO HERE EITHER. For some reason THEY ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO PRESCRIBE PAIN MEDICATION when my gums were bleeding out of my mouth and I was screaming and shaking.

Also, I don't like taking pills and thankfully she didn't prescribe me 3 different meds I can't even pronounce (this was done at the other dentists and I took them obligatorily with uncomfortable results). She was honest and told me over the counter ibuprofen should suffice and wrote down how many mg I needed. I had no bad side effects. A few months later, I had a crack in a tooth caused by an old filling. Once more she had me in and out quickly. Thankfully my mouth has been pain free ever since.

He fitted me for an Invisalign and then used a spacer on ALL my teeth top and bottom, I asked him why he had to put space between my top teeth as they were fine,, his response was so they can shift and not be so close,, So I went through the whole process of wearing Invisalign and when I was finally done, He did some adjusting and then filed away my bite and did some kind of indenting on my molars which has since caused food to lodge itself in them, and besides brushing, I now have to dig with a pic to get the food out of my molars, and then he was gone from the practice I was told there were a lot of complaints about him. in steps Dr Todd Russell, Somewhat better but every time I voice to concern to him, he'd laugh it off, So today, knowing I was due for a check up, I called the office to find out there is no one there anymore did not receive any notification that the office was closing and the Dr. Russell was moving someplace else until the offices answering machine informed me some kind of notice would've been nice. I am totally disheartened and just want to get my medical record sent someplace else which I will do as soon as I find highly recommended Dentist. Problems with bridges,problems with crowns, the original bridge was to low in the back and separated 2 times, but the dentist argues that it was because the other side had issues, the agonizing pain of removal the first time, the tooth in the very back was sensitive, the bonding would not hold, came loose again. and tooth underneath became abscessed, the 3rd attempt was impossible to remove so now my 3600 dollar plus bridge had to be cut in half, back tooth extracted he put 3 crowns in the upper left also one of witch had glue stuck on the inside between the teeth painful as all hell when he kept trying to free it up it had a gap between and food kept getting in he say the teeth moved forward and would have to replace center with a wider tooth so now I have another 1000 plus to add and also the front and rear teeth of that one also crowns replaced at the same time I was told have cavities and would need to be replaced, so more and more money, I could have had all new teeth and less aggravation for all this money and needless insurance claims, and calling me to get me to leave work set up an appointment then telling me they can't do the work when I get there until I pay an additional 600.00! Buyers beware get a second opinion before making decisions. To add I was told implants were not an option due to bite strength!
