There are no shaded areas so plan to visit early in the morning or later in the afternoon. However, if you end up here right in the middle of the day, don't worry! Your kids will be excited to cool down at the adjacent water park- also free! In between the city and water park there is a nice mostly shaded playground. This was such a fun place to visit! There is a big mall within a 10 min drive so you can make this a day trip!

Markham has these and so much more. When I first got to South Florida I came out this way for bike rides. Although it's very famous for its off road courses, biking the paved roads of the park is great as well. I've also used the range here, solid. But over the past couple years, we have come out here for the disc golf. It's a great course. Tough holes that feel very makable but still can humble most that play it. There are many other things to include a RC boats and RC planes areas, but whatever you mind come out West by, you are bound to enjoy Markham.

This park has picnic shelters and a playground with shade cover with an adjacent bathroom. The athletic fields are immaculate. They have four baseball/ softball fields, one football field that can also be used for lacrosse with stadium seating, a running track, and two artificial turf fields. There is a concession stand by the fields and more bathrooms. The fields have night lighting so games can be held in the evening. There is even a roller hockey rink. Dogs are allowed at the park as long as they are on a leash no longer than six feet. This is a wonderful park to exercise, participate in or watch a game, or just to take the kids to play.

The wide open space is great for horses to get a nice ride and to rinse off at the watering areas. The lakes and streams are filled with wild life that is indigenous to the area. Just taking a walk and listening to the sounds of nature is truly calming. On the weekends this county park gets very loud and crowded but because the park is so massive, there is always a place to relax.

At the time of my visit, there were a few ladies sitting under it getting ready for a drumming circle. We watched for a bit before moving on. The park has loop trails. It's easy to follow via the trails app. It's a great place for hikes, long walks or for just taking a break from people. The kids would love it here as well. We walked past a few play grounds and biking trails. I plan on taking the kids back soon for some fun. 10/10 as far as parks are concerned.
