Developing cost $15 per roll, which is average for film development (but this includes getting your negatives back- if you really don't need them, you get a cheaper price). Every time I'm there I feel like I spend a few hours debating how much I can spend, on things that are necessary or not, but I'm almost always convinced to spend more than I needed (by myself) since I'm not there often enough and it's nice to pick things out by hand instead of online for a change. Costs are generally a bit high but not all unreasonable depending on what it is. They have a parking garage which is a perk, but the downside is that it is absolutely tiny (with the tiniest spots) so it might be better to just park on the street to avoid getting hit or scratched. Last time I bought something here there was a minor issue but it was too late for me to return by the time I discovered it and realized what it was, and too expensive to get it fixed there, so I have to do it myself which is the downside... but generally good products overall. Either way, the only real options around Greater Seattle Area that I know of (as good options at least) is either here or Kenmore Camera, who also have fantastic staff, good gear and lots of parking, so check out both and see which is better for you.

We toyed with doing it ourselves, but after pricing photo scanners and doing a few trials with some apps, we decided to outsource the work. We wanted to find someone local because shipping a lifetime full of curated memories to who knows where for several weeks made me nervous. While those places do cost less, the reviews go from mixed to worse. Also, since I painstakingly took the time to keep my photos organized over the years, I didn't want them all dumped into one pile prior to scanning, which is often the case with the cheap online providers. And, lastly, I wanted our photos scanned in high resolution. The Picture Org(anizer) not only met all my requirements, but John and team exceeded all expectations. My scanned photos look fantastic!! I am so pleased. And the USB drive that he put them on was neatly organized into my desired subfolders. I couldn't be happier.

I was informed by email three different dates that is was shipped. Each time it had not shipped. I wanted it for a road trip up North but that will not happen. Keep in mind two things, one its NOT a custom order. two, nowhere on the website does it say shipping out will take this long. Not to mention that being perhaps the most expensive tripod on the market they still charge a shipping fee. I've asked more then once to just cancel my order and each time I'm told its shipping. Considering its still in the factory and will take 6-8 days more to arrive you would think Ries would offer a discount on expedited shipping but that is not the case. There website should have been a warning to me that perhaps something is wrong. Site was unusable to place an order. Not sure if this is a company or a side job. Obviously, being the only wood tripod manufactory in America there is a lack of competitors and they treat the customer accordingly.

I developed a few dozens of rolls at Omega Photo so far, mostly medium format black and white but…read morealso others. I always also got prints and mostly DSLR scans. I was happy with all of these, and the prices are reasonable, even when I can do most of this at home (considering time). I like the staff, they know a lot about this stuff, I even had the opportunity to see some of their equipment. Color rolls get processed relatively fast (few days), but for BW rolls, it's good to understand that they bring these to the lab on Friday and then get them back next Friday. So if you bring a roll on Saturday, its a long time before this gets back. Standard scans are typically ready the next day after development, DSLR scans typically take a couple of extra days. This works fine for me, since I have one or more rolls ready every week, keeping the visits fruitful. For DSLR scans, I recommend tiff format.
