The absolute WORST dental experience of my entire life this morning. I made it very clear multiple times that I was there because I was in a lot of pain and I couldn't wait for my regular dentist to see me next week. The assistant grabbed my jaw and jammed the guide in to my mouth for x-rays 3-4 times trying to make it fit while I shrieked and cried. Then the dentist walked in, looked at the x-ray and said "get the anesthesia ready." No explanation to me of what he saw, just tells me to open my mouth and starts TAPPING on the affected teeth with a metal tool!!! It felt like my head exploded so I screamed, and he said "I have to do tests to find out what's wrong." I'm like - what tests??? What do you see on the x-ray?! Then he tells me I need two root canals on my two bottom front teeth, next he does a shot of cold air on a tooth and I screamed again. At that point I was done and said "I will not be doing a root canal here today. I need an antibiotic and pain meds to get me through the weekend." The staff acted like I was insane and kept telling me I needed a root canal. Bedside manner and communication were the worst I could ever imagine, and no one in that office seemed credible at all. I am getting a second opinion from an endo later this afternoon. Total waste of $140, and legitimately traumatic. read more

I am from out of state and had pain in a molar from eating a hard piece of candy a few days prior. I was a little afraid to try some place new and was sure I had a cracked tooth or perhaps needing a root canal. I was recommended Emergency dental care from Smiles essential ( I had a wonderful experience with them 3 years ago) but all offices were closed on Sunday as well as till mid week due to July 4th except EDC office. The minute I walked into EDC office I was warmly greeted by Jen at reception desk then Ro (dental assistant) made me feel like I had been a regular patient there for years. She listened to what was wrong, took several X rays then got the dentist ( Carlos Salas) . He was friendly, listened to what my issue was then went over my X rays with me. Not only was he thorough but much to my surprise (and relief) I didn't have to have any other procedures done...no crown replacement etc. He gave me follow up care for that molar but he went further and took a look at all my other teeth and noticed my gums above an implant was infected so he gave me a prescription for antibiotics. The cost was an office visit and X rays which I had thought originally was going to be a lot of dental work and expense . I have a dentist back home that I've gone to for 35 years and this topped it! Without a doubt if I lived here this would be where I would go to for all my dental visits/work. read more

Unfortunately one of my molars snapped yesterday, so I called this place under the assumption that they worked with in-house financing without credit check because I'm new to the area, haven't sorted out insurance yet, and I don't have any spare cash until payday. I was turned away and told that they require fees in full at the time of service, or they would accept Care Credit upon credit check and approval. Their own website states "We accept most dental insurance, offer convenient appointment hours, and have flexible payment options for those without dental insurance" on the homepage and says in the faq section: "We have several different financing options ranging from zero interest CareCredit plans, to in-house financing which requires no credit check." The associate I spoke with claimed they had been employed with this facility for 7 years and had never heard such a thing. She was shocked to see it on the website. Unfortunately with how they schedule management, there wasn't even anyone above her I could speak to about this, and barring all of that, their site says same day appointments for those in pain, but she said she couldn't get me seen until tomorrow... Oh well! I guess my quest for a dentist will continue. Shame on you for shady business practices! read more

Called in for a dental emergency today (bad wisdom tooth that I ignored for the better part of three years that suddenly caused intermittent excruciating pain) had an appointment within an hour and a half, was seen within 30 minutes of arriving, and within 30 minutes of being seen, the tooth was pulled and I was out the door. Staff was professional, Dr. Short was super chill, no BS, explained everything from the procedure to post care. Accepted my insurance with a super reasonable copay. Misdiagnosed my 14 year old son! Took my son in for pain in his tooth and the dentist working told us it was a "canker sore" turned out to be an abscessed tooth! Unreal!! I even asked the dentist "a canker sore can cause pressure in the tooth?" To which he replied "sometimes if they're really bad" what a reckless moron! Needless to say we won't be back; ever. Tonight, I urgently needed to have a broken wisdom tooth pulled. I'm really happy the husband found this place! We live in Broomfield, and could not for love or money find an oral surgeon that would see me today in our area. It was a bit of a drive for us (or rather for the friend who drove), but it was sure as heck worth it. Their prices were very reasonable, the people were extremely nice, and the care I received was excellent. I am highly resistant to the normal anesthetics, like Novocaine and Lidocaine that dentists and oral surgeons often use, and when I told them this, they tried Marcaine (which did nothing at all) and then Septocaine - which worked amazingly. They were _extremely_ careful to make sure I was as numb as possible before doing anything. They also provided nitrous oxide (which I am also somewhat resistant to, but it still helps!) Dr. Lutskiy then proceeded to get a broken, hard-to-reach wisdom tooth out of my mouth without me feeling anything beyond a bit of pressure. Both he and the lady assisting him were very patient with me the whole time. Everyone at the office was thoughtful, efficient, concerned about my comfort, and overall just great. They answered all my questions completely. They gave me detailed instructions on how to care for my mouth, post-surgery, as well as written instructions and supplies to take with me. They explained all costs to me in advance. Even though it was a rush emergency appointment, during hours that most dental offices would be long-since closed, the prices were standard and quite reasonable, especially compared to other places we checked. I had an extremely good experience (and how often can you say that about getting a tooth pulled?), and would readily recommend these folks to others. read more

Worst experience ever Dentist I have ever had. Do you not tell this Dentist his work is anything less than perfect he will become immediately aggressive and combative. Today I had a 2 o'clock appointment and him and his admin and I Gentis were 35 minutes late from lunch and did not show up until 235 and did not offer an apology. Then when I complained about work that was done two weeks ago the dentist got extremely agitated, combative and aggressive towards me I am mediately left I would rather be toothless and have this pretend Dentist touch my teeth. I have been a patient for a number of years. They have been ok in the past but after my last visit when a crown that they put on popped off. When I went in to see them the DR. Potter stated that they had to do x-rays and some other work before he could reattach it. He charged me $260 to do this and he recommended a new crown at a cost of over $1300. He made negative remarks about my income based on my appearance which were the furthest from the truth. They do not accept my insurance and the Dr. was not pleased that I wasn't going to pay him in cash on the spot. The dental assistant did all the work while the DR. Potter walked around the office telling me how great he was. I called to discuss the fee with the receptionist and all she did was hang up the phone when I asked her name. I came in with a broken wisdom tooth and did not know what to expect. The doctor and the nurse took very good care of me. They explained the entire procedure and what to expect during a tooth extraction. Before I even knew it, the tooth was out. The professionalism and courtesy displayed by this team was remarkable. I have not been to the dentist in approx two years and they were not judgemental of that. I appreciate their office being open on Saturday because I don't think I could have made it over the weekend as I was in so much pain. Be very mindful of the direction the staff gives you and DO NOT PROCEED if they can't reach your insurance provider. We went on a Sunday for my husband to get a tooth extracted and they told us MetLife's system was down, so we had to pay out of pocket, but that MetLife would definitely reimburse us for the cost as soon as they entered the claim the next business day. They claimed this was common, so we proceeded on their guidance. We forked out almost $600 and received a check for only $25 couple weeks later. After calling MetLife to figure out what was going on, we found out this practice has never been in network with MetLife. MetLife contacted the dental office on a three way call and the woman's excuse was that she wasn't there that day but that she wouldn't have given that direction if she were. When my husband got understandably upset, she hung up on us. They absolutely pulled a bait and switch and knew 100% that we wouldn't see a dime back - she proved that by telling us she wouldn't have given the direction and that she's been there 12 years. I had a tooth pulled the same week, at an honest practice, and only paid $75. This business claims to not overcharge "just because" they are an emergency dentist, but that is an absolute lie. Even before insurance coverage on my own extraction, the cost was half of what this practice charged my husband. I will be contacting the attorney general to file a complaint, but I want to make sure to post this wherever I can, to ensure nobody else gets robbed by this practice. I hope your office learns a lesson and makes the changes necessary to avoid putting other families in a bind, like you did to us. read more

I have gone to Emergency Dental this past weekend due to a root canal last minute. I called emergency dental, the receptionist was kind and was able to get me in that same day. From the moment I walked in...the staff, along with Dr. Carlos Salaz were very kind and courteous with me, Pretty funny guy as well ha ha. The billing Dept was able to get a quote for me with my dental coverage in a jippy. I have no complaints whatsoever with my experience there. I even received a call from Dr. Carlos Salaz personally checking up on me and making sure that I am doing OK. I greatly appreciate that. I can't say many doctors take the time to do that. My husband had been struggling with toothache for a couple of days. I was out of town but when I got back, I noticed his cheek was swollen. We concluded he needed dental assistance ASAP. We googled emergency dental care and this was the first option that came up. Upon arrival, we were not greeted by "Jamira" as she claimed her name to be. We explained we were there because of the severity of his pain and swelling. She had us complete paper work and let us know right away they did not take our insurance without asking what insurance we had. I couldn't remember my insurance because I recently changed it. I asked her to maybe assist me by thinking of federal insurance names. She said, "there are tons" and failed to make any effort to help. Once I remembered, I told her the name and she said they did not accept that insurance, we need to pay out of pocket and then submit paper work to our insurance. She let us know the price right away, $140 for consultation. Her attitude and demeanor were very negative. We paid the $140. She told my husband to walk in but did not let him know where to go. When he asked, she was bothered and pointed to the station. After the consultation he came back out (to the hallway since I couldn't come in and wait in the wait room like another lady was doing) he told me they needed to pull his tooth out. They gave him no options and just gave him the price, $395. I had to walk in and ask questions. When I approached the receptionist "Jamira" I was about to ask her something and she picked up the phone and completely ignored I was there. When she finally got off the phone, I asked her if there were any other options than pulling out the tooth and her response was, "I don't know, I'm not the doctor." That is when I asked if there was something wrong with her because she has been having an attitude with us for no reason. She did not respond to that. I asked for her name, she stalled, then said, "Jamira" which of course I did not believe her. I just did not want to deal with her negativity anymore and walked out. The dentist came to talk to us before I walked out because he noticed there was an issue. We spoke to him and we decided to have the tooth extracted. We paid the $395 and we're on our way. I felt discriminated and disrespected. This place completely sucks and they just want a pay day. They do not care about their patients/clients. My husband had a follow up appointment with our regular dentist and confirmed they did not do what was in my husbands best interest. I wanted to share our experience to warn others before they step in here. And to "Jamira" shame on you for being a total Karen to us. You are there because of the clients and patients. Well this was a much better experience than what I expected. I had a broken molar that has become very painful and needed to be fixed. I do not have a regular dentist and haven't seen one in years so I was nervous. This dental office was able to get me in within 24 hrs and took care of my tooth. I had to have a root canal done. The office staff is freindly and efficient, DR Stevens was very professional, very friendly and kind and explained everything very well before, during and after the procedure. The dental assistant was also very good and attentive. They made me feel very comfortable. These guys are absolutely top notch! I would highly recommend them to anyone. I am really shocked at the positive reviews. These reviewers must be very wealthy. I went to this dentist b/c I needed a root canal. Their website states they take insurance - my insurance, specifically. I have a dentist, but, he couldn't fit me in for another week and the pain was pretty severe. I made an appointment for a root canal here. When I came in, suddenly, they didn't take insurance and they expected me to pay $1400 CASH to them, that day. My insurance pays for 80% of the procedure - I would never have come here if they didn't lead me to believe they accepted insurance. I feel like this company is a shakedown artist--they mislead you and, once you get there, they tell you the truth, thinking you're so desperate that you'll pay them anything. read more

I had a tooth (back molar) that had been filled many, many times, and my regular dentist suggested I consult with an endodontist if it didn't stop bothering me after placing the Mother Of All Fillings in it. Well, six weeks later, it turned into a different kind of mother (you know what I'm talking about) and I was fantasizing about the ice skate scene in Castaway... So, at 4 a.m. I found Emergency Dental Care through a Google ad and figured, let's do it! I went into work the next day, but as soon as I was out at 2 p.m., they got me in right away. The front desk attendant/dental assistant was super friendly while I was having my little mini-panick-attack in the waiting room, and got me started on x-rays right away. Dr. Haws explained my options very clearly and was very honest when he said that he didn't have high hopes for a root canal (my thoughts exactly!) and was on board with pulling it out! Nitrous is extra, but worth every penny, IMO. The injections were perfectly placed and no more painful than they have to be, since he did them really slowly (the ones that they stick in the corner of your jaw for a nerve block). I let him know that I typically take a while to numb up, so he waited a while and I was nice and numb as he sawed my tooth in 2-3 pieces and removed it. I let him know I was having a tiny bit of pain as he got to the bottom of my S-shaped root and he stopped immediately, gave me another injection, and then pulled the rest with no problems. There was no yanking of my head, minimal gross noises, none of the horror stories I have read anywhere else. Then sent me home with a prescription of percocet to last a few days. Just 24 hours later, there is no pain, a tiny bit of tenderness, and the swelling is gone! Fees were reasonable; maybe 50% to twice what you'd pay at a regular dentist, but you get immediate service. Exam/x-ray was just over a hundred, extractions range from two to three hundred, depending on complexity. They are very up front about it and will discuss your price options along with your treatment options, and they were totally friendly with the idea of me dealing with my immediate problem (extraction), and then following up at a poor people's clinic where I can save money on future implants (I have an appointment with a dental school coming up). There was no BS about "we should do it here" or "we can provide the best care," they were very up-front and understanding, even though they also offer implant services. If you are in dental pain and need treatment NOW, give these guys a call. read more

I broke over half a tooth and went to see Dr. Arthur on a weekend. I wound up needing a root canal. Let me start by saying I am petrified of dentists. I have only had two good experiences in my life and I'm almost 40. I came in scared to death, Dr. Arthur and his staff were extremly patient and understanding. The work was painless and perfect. I have a new dentist and I live in Arvada, and the drive is worth it! I will go no where else from here on out. I needed an emergency tooth extraction and was in terrible pain so I went in for an appointment. I had a bad experience in the past and was terrified to have a tooth pulled. The staff was amazing, friendly, and got me in right away. Dr. Ruff is a skilled dentist and had the two teeth (one was a wisdom tooth) out in less than 30 minutes and he was so gentle I didn't even realize they had been pulled. I had very minimal pain after the procedure yesterday and zero pain today. I am very impressed with the efforts he made to ensure I didn't have a bad experience. I had broken my back tooth, (one that previously had a root canal done by a different dentist), and had to find an emergency dentist, which I found in this business. We went last night and I ended up having a replacement filling, cleaning out the tooth, and getting a temporary crown. The dentist and his staff were awesome. I am terrified of anyone touching my mouth, and teeth, and I was a nervous wreck. They were very kind and patient with me and made it an easy experience. I would recommend this place to anyone!! I had a porcelain veneer fall off while eating a sandwich on Christmas Eve. I have thankfully never needed any type of emergency dental work before, and wasn't sure where to start or go. I am very lucky to have found this place. I called and was able to get an appointment for the same day. ( They also take walk-ins). The office staff was very welcoming. When I was called back to have my veneer put back on ( It fell off intact), I felt I was in good hands and at ease. The price was way less than what I was expecting. I would really rather not go to the dentist, but i was in too much pain to avoid it any longer. I called yesterday and was able to make an appointment the next day to have teeth removed. I was on time and they took me right after I finished the papers, there was no wait at all. The staff took their time giving me options and answering all of my questions. Everyone was very friendly and didn't make me feel dumb for not knowing haha. I had to have two teeth removed and it didn't hurt during the process. I felt like I was in and out. Try not to let things get this bad with your teeth, but if they do I would recommend this place. I appreciate the care and friendliness everyone showed me. I have really bad anxiety about dentists and I would have literally ran out if they had me uncomfortable in even the slightest. This place is a total rip off, was quoted $40 over the phone to fill a tooth, after paying $120 for a "quick exam". They made me pay $120 up front, I sat down for literally 5 mins, they took one picture of my tooth, then said "oh it's really going to be another $261 not $40". I said that was obviously a bait and switch, but I would be reasonable and pay $60 for 5 mins of the dentist's time. They told me to kick rocks after they all admitted that they quoted over the phone and shouldn't have done that. In my opinion, the dentist looked like he just got off a 3 week meth binge, so that was great too. Literally got robbed for $120 bucks to get a picture of my tooth. I took my 97-year-old father to the Centennial CO office for emergency treatment due to a loose and bleeding tooth. Since it was the beginning of a three-day holiday weekend, his regular dentist was unavailable. The dentist refused to treat him without a medical clearance. Of course I'm upset that my father has to struggle with this tooth for several more days, but what is completely unfair is that they charged him first, then denied service. He was obviously a frail man in extreme old age when he entered the office. If they thought they wouldn't be able to treat him, that determination should have been made first. They refused to consider a refund. These people are heartless thieves. Don't go there! I have to choose one star or the review won't post. I wanted to give it none. read more

I had a huge abscess on my gum, and was in so much pain. The right side of my face was terribly swollen, and you could feel hard lumps on my cheek. Little pockets of infection. I take methotrexate for Rheumatoid Arthritis, so I have a lowered immune system. I was so nauseous also, and hadn't eaten or slept for almost two days. They took my money, gave me antibiotics, but refused anything for pain or nausea. From the receptionist to the dentist, not one person had compassion. The pain was making my head and ear hurt, and I was miserable. He told me to take Tylenol, which I had been taking for two days with zero relief. If you want caring and compassion, DO NOT go here, go anywhere else. I threw up the first dose of antibiotics, and when I needed a refill because my face was still swollen, and still hurt, they refused that also. Not sure which board regulates dentists, but I will be filing a complaint. To refuse an antibiotic refill is unconscionable to say the least. They are in this for the money, period. Read their negative reviews, 33% of their patients were unhappy. That's one third!!! read more

This place was recommended by my sister who had work done to her front teeth. The same thing I needed done. My dentist at that time said that she couldn't help me. So I found Dr Salas- with the help of my sister. He is very polite, soft spoken, honest and gives plenty of options. No pressure in this office. I was pleased. The best part was my new teeth...I get amazing compliments and these bad boy teeth are not going anywhere. AMAZING JOB Dr Salas and your wonderful assistant. Prices maybe a little higher than other places but afterall, this is essentially an emergent dental care. I will keep coming back :) read more

I went in to have a broken tooth extracted. They told me I had no coverage through Delta Dental although I did. I had to pay cash for the extraction and then submitted for a refund through Delta. Delta told me I should have only paid 71.50. I paid them 420.00. They told me I was covered at the time of the service. They said I would have to get a refund from Emergency Dental. I will no longer subscribe to Delta dental because they do not pay their claims. I have called Em dental twice now and was told both times the office manager would call me back. I have so far been blown off. My gum is still sore at the extraction site after over a month. I would not recommend Carlos Santos or Emergency dental to anyone. read more
