Emilio's has a great location in Arden Mills. If I lived in the neighborhood, I'd be a regular. Having slices available is the chef's kiss not having to commit to a whole pie that is the same after every slice. Today, they didn't have the Don Ho. Being from the West Coast would love if they had that available as a slice. Tried the godfather of slices - pepperoni and another that I like bbq chicken. Pepperoni was a solid thin slice fold it over or curve it slice. Not much sauce, cheese and what tastes like authentic pepperoni not that bulk Hormel type. Bbq chicken has that sweet bbq that I like. Just the right amount of bbq and a healthy portion of chicken. Counter service - she was helpful and polite. The person cleaning the tables also very polite and quick to serve. Hands down the best pizza in York County. We have been to Emilio's a handful of times and every time are met with incredible pizza, friendly staff and service, and an overall good time. Coming from NY we are picky pizza eaters, and they do it right. Thin crust, big slices, and amazing flavors. Their basics are excellent like cheese and pepperoni, but also the other options like the buffalo chicken pictured here. We've done their sandwiches too which are to die for. We've found if we want to eat in we call ahead and place our order about 25min before we get there. They are BUSY so it's worth calling ahead, especially if you have young and hungry/impatient kids. Their staff moves quickly to clean tables and move folks along. Bathrooms are always clean, and the overall ambiance is friendly and has a home town pizza place feel. Cute little Italian restaurant! It was very busy for a Friday evening, which is to be expected. You order at the counter and they give you a number and then you take your seat. We ordered a large pizza that was half pepperoni half cheese. As well as a side of fries. The pizza came out hut, and the cheese was all melted and looked delicious. Unfortunately the sauce wasn't the greatest and the pizza did not have much flavor. The order of french fries was the largest side of fries I've ever seen lol and my niece, and I both agreed they were the best part of the meal. The staff was nice, but it was very busy so they were a bit short and seemed bothered when I asked questions not sure if we'll return because there's 1 million pizza places out there that are so much better. read more

Visiting with parents and I hadn't been here before but my son has been raving about it. My folks had the "loaded" pizza, I had the gluten free (that crust was perfection!) and added mushrooms, and my son had the wings. They also went ape for the garlic knots! No one was disappointed. It was busy -(being the day before Thanksgiving)- but the staff was friendly and we didn't wait long to sit down or get our food. The dining room was open, but we could still hear each other talk. There's a nice long bar set against a wall with seating as well. There are also TV's to watch the games from various angle's. Might I add, we are NYer's and very picky about pizza! The small gluten free margarita was delicious and more than enough for one person. My friend from NY was recommended this place from someone and liked her pizza! (As a New Yorker I can confirm we can be particular about pizza in other places.) She ordered a regular pizza to share with her daughter that was regular dough, not gluten-free. She was told there can be a wait sometimes so she arrived early to get us a table. Luckily there were plenty of seats, clean and open inside. There was some confusion because she requested her pizza be served in a box (she knew she and her daughter would not finish the whole thing in one seating) so my pizza came out first and we waited a long time for hers... until finally asking at the counter and finding out it was sitting with the takeout orders on top of the pizza ovens. read more

This is disappointing to write because the pizza at Emilio's is genuinely excellent. When we first came a couple of years ago, it was so good I left a glowing review and even called to compliment the owner. Unfortunately, the experience has steadily declined, and it has everything to do with how customers are treated. On our most recent visit, my husband simply asked for onions on his slice of pizza. He was told they "don't do that," which is already unusual. He then asked if they could just bring the onions in a cup so he could add them himself. Instead of a simple solution, this turned into a long, drawn-out lecture from the owner about why they don't do it, how other customers have "ruined it," and how things are done in New York. It didn't stop even after he was politely asked to. That's the problem--there's a pattern here of talking at customers instead of listening to them. We've also experienced visible frustration from the kitchen in the past over topping requests, including staff slamming oven doors, which was brought to the owner's attention and dismissed. Over time, it's felt less like a place that values customers and more like one that expects them to just accept whatever they're told. At some point, it feels like the success has gone to his head. It's easy to forget that customers are the reason a place grows in the first place. Also, this is Fort Mill South Carolina--not New York (owner explained that "most restaurants in NY don't offer toppings for by the slice - which is great, but I don't care - think DELIVERY to a paying customer). People here expect good food and respectful, straightforward service. A simple request shouldn't turn into a lecture. We won't be back, and that's entirely because of the ownership--not the food. We'll genuinely miss the pizza. And to be clear: there's no need for a response to this review unless it's a sincere apology. We're not interested in explanations, justifications, or long-winded defenses. We also don't want compensation or free food. We simply wanted a basic request handled respectfully, and that didn't happen. There are plenty of other places in Fort Mill/Rock Hill that serve great pizza and treat their customers well. Pizza is really good especially compared to the chains. Bar selections are first rate. Service is not. I've been twice and both times waitstaff was overwhelmed. Sat at the bar both times. The bartending was good , orders with the kitchen were without errors but just too few skilled staff. If you plan on going - and I would suggest you do if you like quality pizza - bring lots of patience as it will be a process to be attended to. Doubt I'll return anytime soon. read more

It's been about four months since my last visit and first review so time for an update. This time I ordered the Antipasto salad, just so good with Kalamata olives, peperronici, deviled eggs, salami, tomatoes, artichoke, romaine lettuce and an unbelievable house made Italian dressing. I added chicken for a small $4 upcharge but it was well worth it. This is an excellent salad and good for a full meal. They now have a full stocked bar though they remain in 'soft opening' mode as they try out different menu items. We ordered take out from this newly opened pizza restaurant which features New York style pizza. The menu also features salads, wings and a variety of pizza. Pasta , starters and sub menu to come soon. The restaurant is bright and clean and a comfortable atmosphere. We ordered a pizza with mushrooms, ( mushrooms cost $2 extra ) garlic parmesan wings and a Greek salad. Pizza was very good, cheese topping a bit salty than other pizzas I have had. Crust standard thin. The wings were good served with celery and carrot sticks with ranch dressing. The Greek salad also good but the dressing was lacking that olive oil taste and was simply bland for my taste. This meal cost a little over $36. We would definitely return and order from the menu again. read more

Came here for the first time on a Friday evening. This place is very popular so if you are wanting something fast, try coming on a different day. The staff were so nice and helpful. When we told the woman it was our first time she took a moment to review the options with us and suggested to find a table before ordering and if we wanted drinks are available at the bar. We ordered the wings and their blue cheese is delicious. We also went traditional and ordered a 14in pepperoni pizza. It was worth the wait, perfectly cooked! There are a ton of pizza reviews but I got the eggplant parm sandwich to go. It was the most tender eggplant. Perfectly breaded and crispy. It had the perfect amount of sauce and a ton of cheese. The bread was also soft inside but crispy on the outside. It wasn't soggy at all!! It looked intimidating but it held up fine in my hands. They can't get the timing right on their food. Over 1 hour for a pizza at 4:00 pm on a Tuesday is unreal. They constantly pos apologies on their Facebook page because it just keeps happening. Excuse after excuse but nothing changes or gets better. Guys you need to figure something out because yes the food is so good but the wait is making it impossible to enjoy. Ray- I don't know how to respond to you so I'll respond here - no we're quoted 1 hour, and it was ready after 1 hour and 30 min. It was a cheese pizza that's it. Like I said there's always an excuse but it's been a year if I'm not mistaken and if it's not getting better it will only get worse. Edited to add-the owner/management did reach out Sunday evening to explain what happened. I called at 2:33 to place an order to pick up and that included a Grandma Pizza along with a few other items. The gentleman in the background said there were a few left. The woman on the phone told me 25 minutes. At 2:55 I received a call back letting me know there was no grandma pizza and at 3:13 I was still waiting for my order because I had to pick another pizza. I not sure why it took until close to the time I was supposed to be picking up the pizza to be told it wasn't there anymore and now have to wait longer for another pizza. I didn't leave until 3:28. I sent the place a message and no response/anything. I would not have placed the order there if they didn't have the grandma pizza. We live in Lake Wylie and that was my husband's favorite and the only reason we were going. read more

Called in a "to go" order yesterday evening. One pizza; to be ready at 5:30. Got there at exactly 5:30 and was told it would be a couple of extra minutes. I watched the chef getting pizzas ready and people coming in to pick them up. I watched him, about 5 minutes after I checked in, box a pizza and put it on top of the oven. I waited until 5:45 and asked about my order. After looking up the order, the girl told me that it had "just come out of the oven". All I can say is what a surprise. I'm originally from NY. I'm always getting recommendations on places to try for pizza and Italian food. This place was recommended by a work colleague about 3 months ago and I kinda forgot about it. It's about 45 minute drive away. I've yet to go to a place that was recommended that I approved until today. We ordered garlic knots a cheese calzone and a meatball parmigiana hero. The garlic knots came out first they were nice and hot and looked very appetizing. I usually don't dip in sauce when I eat my knots but the sauce looked so good sitting there. I'm glad I did try the sauce it was amazing. Once I tasted the sauce I had a good feeling about this place. A few minutes later the hero came out huge meatballs well sauced with plenty of cheese again nice and hot it was delicious. My wife had the cheese calzone again very good hot with dipping sauce on the side. Everything was delicious. I was pretty stuffed at this point by couldn't help myself while I was doing my original order I saw the individual slices. so I went back up and ordered a single slice of buffalo chicken it was delicious. All of the slices looked delicious. The only bad thing I could say about this place is it's a 45 minute drive for me. I guess that's my problem. read more

We moved to Fort Mill at the same time Emilio's was opening, we are originally from NY, founding this comfortable family oriented pizzeria and everything else, was a blessing, the owners are amazing and always treating us like family. The pizza is wonderful and we love the garlic nuts. The ceasar salad is out of this world. I love that their older son is the chef and we met Emilio as a bonus. We highly recommend this place and of course, sitting at the bar and allowing their nice bartender to pamper you is something we enjoy as well. read more

Interesting place. It has a nice bar on one side and a "order your own restaurant" on the other side. Tables are large so expect to sit with others. Pizza is just ok with a basic crust without much flavor. Sauce is good and we enjoyed the meatballs. The Philly sandwich looked good. The pizza is very good here. Much better experience to sit there and eat it. Versus bringing it home, for us we're up near Tega Cay. But definitely worth the trip. The place is always crowded. So if you're gonna do takeout, make sure you order at least 20 minutes ahead of when you're leaving. If you're looking to sit down, I love the experience. You go up to the counter, you order they give you a number you sit at your table and they bring it over. They have a bar, people always look like they're sitting over there having a nice time. The place is spotless and all the kids at the counter are super friendly and unassuming and really wanna get things right for you. My only advice is if you order a Caesar salad tell them to hold the bacon. Both times we ordered the bacon was not very crispy. So you either need to tell them to make it crispy and put it on the side, but generally speaking I don't like bacon on a Caesar salad. The old-school cheese pizza is very good. I also really to order mine w/ meatballs, pepperoni, red onion, and Kalamata olives. read more
