Our Samsung refrigerator from Home Depot was still under their warranty when it crashed and burned on us. HD no longer has a repairman in the area, but they referred us to someone in Hawi. Way too far from our home in Volcano. Emil came right up after my call and fixed the current problem, and found and fixed a factory defect that we've been working around for almost three years. The entire visit was completed in about one hour. His charge was far less than the expected travel charge to come up here. HD should have reimbursed us for that charge, but hasn't done so in well over two months. I'm not too concerned since the service fee was very reasonable. No more appliances from them allowed in this house. Emil was fast, very polite and protective of our mahogany floors, and reasonably priced. I was in a bind with a new gas dryer received the day before that wouldn't ignite after the LP conversion and the wife needing to dry her wash. Emil fortunately returned my call and just so happened to be close by going to his next service call. Being close he decided to swing around and arrived in 10 minutes. One look and he saw the problem which was a broken igniter. He said those things are super delicate. It looked like was broken prior to receiving since the ceramic or porcelain part was also chipped. He had parts in his truck and replaced it. In and out in less then 30 minutes. I also learned a few tricks. Real professional and nice guy. My dog loves him too. read more

He's awesome to work with he came over and he fixed my dishwasher it's a long story but he had to come back two times. We thought it was a door switch but it was the motherboard and luckily he had it in his truck it was all good! Emil was super helpful when a friend was staying at our place and the fridge began to cool less and not freeze items. He was honest over the phone that it may not be repairable from the age and manner the fridge died and referred me to Hilo Design Center as I may need a new one. Emil was scheduled to look at the fridge just before it quit completely the next day and I ended up ordering a new one from the store he referred as everyone knows that finding things on the island is tough. I will use him in the future for any of my appliance repairs as he responded promptly to my call for a repair, scheduled an appointment on a Sunday and was honest enough that I knew enough that I may need a new fridge from the start and that a repair may not be practical.
