When I looked for somewhere new, I literally called every Pilates studio within 20 miles of home. I tried out a few and decided on Jennifer Pilates after getting a great workout in her mat class. I bought a 30 session package and am just about half way through it. Everyone's been noticing HUGE changes in how I look already! I move through space with more balance & strength. My clothes are fitting loser everywhere except for where I FINALLY have a butt! She's encouraging when things are a challenge. Her awareness of detail is at a height I've never seen before and I think that's the magic to what she does! Her private session prices are about on par with everywhere else in the area, so yes, you're going to likely make a dent in your wallet. That said, I'm SO happy with my results so far that I'd seriously consider selling a kidney to be able to continue. Luckily, since that's not an option in the developed world, her small classes are a steal at $15 and there's enough individualized attention and modifications for everyone.

I've tried a lot of pilates studios/classes and, if you can afford it, nothing matches this kind of intense, personalized training.

It stays true to the classical Pilates method while thoughtfully incorporating modern techniques and modalities. Courtney and Morgan bring decades of experience to their teaching, and their knowledge, attention to detail, and commitment to their students are exceptional. I especially appreciate that the group classes are intentionally limited to a maximum of four students. The small-group format allows every student to receive individualized instruction, precise corrections, and guidance tailored to their body and ability level. The studio also offers private and semi-private sessions. Another thing I love is that questions are always welcomed. Courtney and Morgan take the time to explain proper form, movement patterns, and the purpose behind each exercise. The recently updated studio is clean, modern, chic, and welcoming. I wanted more/better lifting experiences and less emphasis on running/rowing. Loved my time there but I genuinely missed doing lifts with barbells, kettlebells, etc. A bunch of people I know followed the Journey IG which piqued my interest when I started shopping around for a new gym home. At the time, your first group workout was free to attend, to check out the gym. I immediately felt welcomed and encouraged at mine. You see the same/similar folks if you go to the same class time during the week, which helps with getting to know the community. The best quote to come from us evening folks in the last few months has been "we listen and we don't judge" :p In addition to group training, Tanner offers private coaching, athlete coaching, etc. He usually plans a few events sprinkled in throughout the year plus family/friends workouts to give potential clients an opportunity to check it out.
