I hosted a small dinner party at our home over the weekend. I was out of town for three weeks prior to the dinner. I gave very loose direction and Emily absolutely blew us all away. She eloquently prepared a 7 course meal that began with passed appetizers. Her crab cakes are insanely good. I typically am not a huge fan of lamb, However I am a huge fan of Emily lamp pop. We came in from out of town for Thanksgiving with my 85 year old mother in-law. Because she lives in an assisted living facility we chose to bring Thanksgiving dinner to her place. I read through a couple of different catering places and chose Emily's Events due to the traditional Thanksgiving menu. We heated everything up at the VRBO following the instructions provided. This could have been a flop. However I assure you it was fantastic! Obviously home cooked food is best but given our travel restrictions this was perfect! Nothing was under seasoned or over seasoned. We did a couple of add-ons to the menu. I say get BOTH the candied yams and mashed potatoes. Also don't skimp on the pie! Get both the pumpkin and apple! The turkey was good, not dry. I like a standard stuffing (dressing) and this one met my expectations, yummy! We will be using Emily's Events again. Thank you Emily, Rick and staff for making this past holiday amazing! From menu selection, ordering, receiving update, the payment process and food pick-up everything was simple and exactly as promised. I requested to pick-up the food hot and it was hot and fresh. I tried Emily's Events for the first time during the COVID-19 lock down. With the family unable to go out and celebrate Easter we were at a loss of what to do, no body felt like cooking, because we had all been cooking every meal for weeks. Friends has recommended Emily for her catering, and seeing she was preparing meals for pick up or delivery I called on Friday and picked up the very next day, even though we were not going to eat until Sunday. It could not have been better! The food was packaged perfectly, labeled and with clear instructions for reheating. No detail was spared, even down to the fanned strawberries for dessert garnish. Highly recommended and VERY good value for money. We are already planning what to order next. We just had a catered Thanksgiving meal a day early. Delivery was on time and all the food was great. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, fresh buns, cranberry sauce and gravy. I contacted this caterer as potential vendor for my wedding. She responded quickly (within 1 day) of my original inquiry and asked for me to fill out a wedding questionnaire that surveyed all potential needs for including catering and planning services (dj, flowers, videographer, invites, officiant, hotel arrangements, etc) and personal information about you and your fiancé. Although these comprehensive services are appealing, I personally only needed a caterer and it seems as though Emily's Events will not acknowledge your inquiry if you don't need multiple services. She also required to estimate your budget in this questionnaire suggesting that they can accommodate different budgets and put together a menu within my allowance. Quote from questionnaire .."I do not see the sense in wasting your time proposing a menu that is either grossly over, or under, your budget...if it something we need to talk further about that is ok..." As a prospective client this seems promising. However, once I submitted the questionnaire I never received a follow up email. After two weeks, I wrote a follow up email noting that the questionnaire was completed. Still no response 4 days later after my second email. To me, that seems like she reviewed my questionnaire, decided I didn't have enough services needed, that my budget was not worth their time, worthy of a response, or that I have a "low income" status. I respect that vendors have the right to select their clients, but a courteous business practice should have included an email notifying me of this. In addition, she should not have falsely implied in her questionnaire that she is open and flexible to various client needs and budgets. read more

Emily and Rick exceeded all expectations with our daughter's bat mitzvah party. The request was to have stations with food from around the world - Vietnam (pho), Spain (paella and vegetables with romesco sauce, Italy (meatballs, butternut squash ravioli and charcuterie), France (dessert crepes). All aspects were delicious. The service was outstanding. All details were covered from the tent to decorative touches to a custom cake to a candelabra for a ceremony. We used them before and we will absolutely use them again because everything worked out so well and they were an absolute pleasure to work with. read more

I was on Yelp looking for a caterer for my husbands 60th birthday and came across the glowing reviews about Emily's Events and I was impressed with the fact that she did not have a "canned" list of items to chose from as my husband is VERY picky. I sent her a message to contact me so we could discuss things further and she got right back to me. We chatted about what I was looking for and we set up a time to meet at my home to discuss things further. She arrived right on time for our appointment and she asked for my husbands likes and dislikes and she came up with a concept for a 7-8 course tasting menu. She was able to work around several of our guests food allergies as well! She sent a final menu a few days later and her suggestions were SPOT on! We confirmed the event and she even took care of ordering all of the rentals needed for the event as well which was a huge help! The day of the party came and about 5 hours before the start time, I realized I had miscounted and we needed 2 more portions of everything. I was literally having a panic attack and she said all would be fine and not to worry! True to her word she came though and our guests were never aware there was any sort issue due to my guest count error. Emily and Rick arrived several hours before the event to get set up and the three servers she hired arrived about an hour before and they all went to work.. The party went off absolutely PERFECTLY and I was able to relax and enjoy my guests and my husband was thrilled with every course served as well as the top quality service throughout the evening. All of our guests RAVED about how amazing everything was and several took Emily's information so they could use she and Rick in the future. I am so very thankful I came across Emily's Events that day on Yelp and I will never use anyone else for a catered event! The party had 110 guests with 2 separate hot food stations, also 3 different passed apps. Emily also pulled off a super wedding cake. Her food was great! We hired Emily's Events for a graduation party for our twin boys. Emily and Rick took special notes as to each of the boys favorite foods and incorporated them into the event. With one boy liking Italian food, and the other liking Asian food, they were able to create an "East Meets West" themed party. They even provided a graduation tiered cake where one side was Lacrosse themed and the other side was Film themed. All the food was excellent and the staff couldn't have been more attentive and pleasant. At the end of the evening, they cleaned up as if they had never been in our home. We hired Emily's Events for our wedding with approximately 65 people at a private residence on 10/10/2020. From the beginning, Emily asked for our food preferences and made sure we had exactly the foods we asked for. She even suggested a theme for our food to "bring Mexico to us", since we had to cancel our Mexico destination wedding. The food was ABSOLUTELY amazing! We chose to do 3 food stations in lieu of a traditional sit down dinner. The stations were: Mexican, Italian, and Mediterranean. The Mexican station had a chef preparing carnitas & fish street tacos. The Italian station had a chef twirling the pesto pasta onto forks, individual lasagna cups (groom request), and gluten free meatballs. The Mediterranean/charcuterie station had a large assortment of cheeses, hummus, chicken skewers, and grilled veggies. She certainly blew it out of the park with the food! My wife is gluten free and we had several other special dietary requests from our guests. Emily made sure to incorporate as much food as possible to accommodate those food allergies. For example, she had gluten free crackers on the Mediterranean station in addition to pita bread for those without allergies. The Mexican station had the option of flour or corn tortillas. The Italian station had gluten free meatballs. 4 out of 5 passed hors devours were gluten free as well (caprese skewers, stuffed mushrooms, bacon wrapped scallops, gluten free crab cakes). In addition, she ensured the cake was gluten free as well! By the way, the baker she uses for her cakes is FABULOUS! All the guests were raving about the food! Emily also coordinated all the rentals and vendors for the event since the wedding took place at a private residence. During that process, she was SUPER patient with changes that occurred throughout the process. She also accommodated a change/addition to the tables & linens after both had already been ordered...Thank you Emily! We will definitely be using Emily's Events for catering in the future! Only feedback we will provide is: If you use her as a wedding coordinator, make sure you add her Wedding Coordinator package. Although she was gracious enough to help out, when we needed her...we had a friend step in on the day of the event to make sure the last minute details were perfect. It probably would've been better (and worth the extra $) to have her coordinate everything. Since we didn't pay for this service, she was not at the rehearsal & rehearsal dinner, which would have been quite helpful. Found dozens of caterers, BUT ... all of them had pretty much the same old tired menus: choose two items from column A, three from column B, and be thankful we're even talking to you. Somewhere I found EMILY'S EVENTS (with **lots** of recommendations, but on a site I have not yet been able to rediscover). What caught my eye was -- zero menus. She'll get your details, find out what kind of party you're throwing, how many and what kind of guests you've invited, and she'll whip up something amazing just for your occasion. The short lead time didn't faze her. She'd had a cancellation, she said. Our party was scheduled for six, so she'd be there at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, she said. And she was. With trays of the most beautiful hors d'oeuvres, snacks and tidbits you ever saw. Not just beautifully presented but omigod TASTY!!! Flavor combinations beyond delicious. When Emily set out the platters, truth to tell, I thought the spread looked a little sparse. Would there be enough? No worries -- Emily knows exactly how to calculate quantities. There was **just** enough left over to indicate that everyone had had plenty to eat, with a snackybit or two remaining for a tasty bite tomorrow. Her pricing is reasonable ... well within the range of other, lesser caterers; possibly even a tad bit lower. Certainly competitive, anyway, considering the excellence that she delivers. Emily's Events recently catered my 50's themed birthday party. It was held outdoors, at my home for 50 people. The weather was perfect & so was everything else. What a gem Emily's Events is. I initially started looking for a caterer for my husbands birthday party. When Emily and I met, she really got to know more about my husband. She submitted a quote to me and I fell in love with her suggestions. Everything on the menu was completely targeted towards my husband. Every other caterer gave me a list of their foods and told me to pick from a certain list. There was no personalization. I was instantly impressed by Emily and her creativity. What made it even better is she also can get you everything else you need for the event like tables, decorations, help, etc. They were the only stop I needed to plan the big day. Even with all her help and planning I was still a little stressed out because I had never used them and it was such a big event I was putting on. Let me tell you, they exceeded my expectations. I was planning on just having our friends over for some great food, but Emily and her staff made the night an experience. Emily and her staff were so personable and made all my guests feel comfortable and were interacting with them. We had an action station where everyone could have their own lo mein made. Even after everyone had been served they continued to cook food all night long. They did not have a stop time and kept the food coming until the party ended at 1 am and everyone had left. I was really impressed they did not shut down until our last guest left. Throughout the entire party, her staff kept our place clean and there was never any empty plates or cups left around. The food was amazing and our guests could not stop complimenting it and them. To top it off, Emily gave my husband a gift for his birthday. How amazing is that? I am beyond pleased with Emily's Events and will definitely keep them as my go-to caterer for any events and will always recommend them to others looking for one. read more

I first have to start by saying "was that a party or what"!? On April 13th, 2019 we had my husbands retirement party catered by "Emily's Events" with 150 people attending and it was really an event! It was so amazing that everyone is still talking about it! She was really great, positive and easy to work with throughout the whole time of planning. Whenever I had any worries about anything she released my thoughts with solutions. It's very hard to put it all into words but I will try...the food, the decor, the staff, the photographer, the DJ, the bartenders and the valet were all so wonderful. There is so much more that I'm probably forgetting, but you get the idea. My guests had such a great time. During the party and as they were leaving they kept repeating "this is the best party I've ever been to"! We were so happy that it all went off without one problem. I will only be using Emily's events for any other large or small parties we have in the future!
