I've been coming to the Riverside and Upland locations after Covid because prices became hectic. Both locations are great, Upland is closer to my job. The vibes here are great! I never walked out with a bad haircut, and these are students learning. Sometimes you'll get a student who's been cutting hair a while but just there to get licensed. In Upland, Mr. G is professional, he guides his students step by step when they have questions on a type of haircut. Mr. G always stands right next to the student and that's what I like. Prices are extremely low and affordable. Go yourself, don't bring your friends because it's only $8 and we don't need them prices to go higher anytime soon! read more

While the service is really good, I think this company has permanently ruined barber academies for me. I'm not sure if it was the combination of against-grain and with-grain my barber used, or him possibly using dirty clippers, but I now have an infection on the back of my head because of this place. Do not go here unless you know one of their barbers. read more

I recently completed this barber program and passed the state board test. The owner of the school, Fern, is an honest businessman. He provides a structured program that prepares you for not only the state board test, but also for real life barbershop experience. The instructors Manny, Danny and Jordan were the instructors who helped me through the program. If you are looking to become a barber and are looking for a program, this is it. Giving this place a three star due to welcoming experience. This was my first time time bringing my brother here for his haircut. I'm not sure if the man that we met up on front was the owner but I can sure say that he never welcomed us, didn't smile, & while this was going on he was having a conversation with another gentleman in which he seemed 100% more focused on rather than informing me and my brother about pricing. After my brother got his hair cut, which by the way was an outstanding job well done, big shout-out to the student that did my brother's hair. When it came to paying it was the same man from the beginning and again, the exact same thing. All he said was "$8 dollars" gave him the $8 dollars, he received the payment, while getting change again he was talking to a gentleman & paying all his attention away from me and not really acknowledging I was there. I said thank you and he never said anything back. To me welcoming is a big part of when it comes to running a business. Having recognition and effort in leaving your clients great and wanting to come back should be one of your top priorities. Unfortunately this was not the case. read more

Love this spot. Fern is the man. The spot is very bright and clean and an environment that is welcome to everyone. The people are welcoming and extremely friendly. The barbers are intentional in knowing about you and asking how your day is going. They aren't there to make money but they are learning about the whole experience, including customer service. Brought my son here with a full head of hair. His hair cut was supervised and done very well. He also had a hot towel shave. I saw other students working on kids and men. I'm so impressed with the quality work done at this academy. The place is very clean, bright and airy. I have recommended Eminence Barber Academy to so many people, I tell everyone about it. Had a great cut from Jacob, a new guy with lots of talent. He took his time and had an instructor check a few times just to be sure he was in the right track. This is a barber school so there's nervousness on both sides but I got a nice haircut and pleasant conversation as well! This school is by far one of the best Barber academies in the I.E. . Thanks to the very attentive instructors teaching in this school I learned how to cut hair and learned more about the barber industry. They really do care about you leaving that school prepared for state board and for a barbershop; they gave me so many helpful suggestions on how to cut hair that once I got my license I got a job at the first barbershop i went to because they saw how good I was and it was all thanks to Eminence Barber Academy.
