There was no Lightheing....it was the most Horrible Experience of my Life! I throw away the USB that they gave me!! The most inexperienced Photographer I have ever seen in my life! I wasted $145 for three HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PHOTOS!, If I were you I would to go to Professional Photo Studio, and spend the money to get the "QUALITY PHOTO" you are looking for. I could have taken better Photos wih Iphone!!!!!!! Don't Waste your money and time!!!!! I would not even want it to give it a ONE STAR!!!!

Wow! It's a good thing that I didn't read the reviews before I booked my appointment because I…read moremight have hesitated doing so! I needed a business photo to accompany some work that I'm currently doing. The last time I did similar work for someone else, I wasn't told they wanted a photo until the last minute---eeep! What to do? My husband grabbed the camera and took a shot---and it was pitiful---especially next to other contributors since most of them glammed up. Lesson learned! This time I got plenty of notice. I considered doing Glamour Shots but ruled it out because we don't live that close to one, it was very expensive and it would be very time consuming. So...what to do? Aha! I got it! First go to Macy's and have the Clinique people put some makeup on me, then go to the Picture People. Bonus points because I did this on a day when we had a function to go to in the evening where we had to look decent LOL! I made the appointment for The Picture People using their website. The day before, I got an email confirming the appointment. I went on a Thursday afternoon and the place wasn't busy. This may well explain why I had a better experience than others. My photographer, Masaya, took me on time. He was very friendly, had a good sense of humor and knew exactly what he was doing. The one drawback? When I had to take some non-smiling photos, it took a little bit of work to stop smiling LOL! I ordered the high resolution business photo CD which gives you 3 shots for $75 plus tax. Of course, there was a bit of an upsell attempt --- if I liked all the shots, I could get them for $150! No thanks. If I recall correctly, 15 shots were taken, different angles were shot plus different backgrounds were used. They even use a round, gold disk in some shots that's positioned in such a way to cut down on glare. The photos didn't take long at all and I was never made to feel rushed. After the session, Masaya told me to wait a few minutes while he uploaded the photos. When he was done, he signed on at a computer terminal in the waiting area and pulled up my photos. He gave me a piece of paper and told me to write down which photos I liked, all the while figuring it would take me a while to narrow it down. Much to my surprise, I actually liked 3 of them right off the bat! He then told me that it would take a few minutes to put them on the CD. All totaled, from start to finish, it all took about 30 minutes. When I got home, I popped the CD into the computer and my husband and I were very pleased with the photo quality. Long review, I know---but I would certainly consider using The Picture People again. They even give you a coupon for your next visit along with your receipt. Now, I'm entertaining thoughts of getting our daughter and family to join us all for a family portrait next time they visit. Hmmmm...

When I got back the next day, they didn't have my photos ready and said I needed to choose a collage. None of the photos fit in the collage and the sales rep basically said "oh well. That happens to every customer." If they know that is an issue with every customer's photos not fitting into the collage...how is that excellent customer service? I drove out there 2 days in a row (40 minute drive) just to experience horrible customer service. So, the sales rep said "here are your photos" while he handed me the folder. As I'm walking out of the store, I realize the collage that I just spent so much time to make and had to compromise on quality was not even in the folder. Then, I went back to the counter and ask where is the collage? He said "oh I couldn't print it because it was after you paid." WOW! He was just letting me leave without all of my items and not telling me. Then, he said I have to drive back (another 45 minutes) the next day. Also, I did not receive my online copy of the photo. My family and I had an awful experience. We have used Picture People for years and this was the first time we were not pleased at all. We were coming back for Valentine's day family photos, but we are not pleased at all.

I'm so glad this location has turned things around for the better.

It was incredibly unorganized there, as they were over an hour backed up and also told us that since we were 5 minutes late, they couldn't fit us in and we had to reschedule. You try being on time with a baby! We ended up calling Picture People and they had an opening within the hour, so we went over and got checked in. It was a night and day difference of vibes! Picture People was spacious with better lighting throughout the space, and they had 2 studio spaces with many different backdrops. They also had a large variety of props for the holiday, and also numerous "containers" for babies (basket, little couch, sled). The staff was also patient while I nursed my baby. I believe our photographer was Marissa, and she was professional, kind, and so gentle on our baby. She managed to get him to smile AND snap a picture of it! All of our pictures turned out really good. After taking the pictures, you have to wait a while for them to select the best ones and do some light editing. Then you sit in front of a computer with one of the staff as they go through the pictures and explain their packages. We weren't too happy with the green screen backgrounds so we paid extra to get the original green screen pictures. The digital photos in an USB was a reasonable price, and you can purchase prints that they print out on the spot too. I highly recommend Picture People for quick and simple portraits, especially if you have a young baby!

Disrespectful and unprofessional experience on 12/13/25…read more I had an extremely disappointing experience at Picture People (Fair Oaks). Our original photographer, Kayla, was rude and unprofessional. While we were changing outfits, she had an active FaceTime/video call going in the studio. I asked her to turn it off because it was completely inappropriate. Instead of addressing the concern respectfully, she responded in a dismissive way, claimed it "wasn't faced toward me," and then stormed out of the studio. I met the manager, Yvonne about it and she made the situation even worse. She was condescending, did not try to resolve the issue, and offered no apology. I also observed a clear difference in how she interacted with customers she was pleasant and accommodating with white customers, but spoke to us in a way that felt racially biased and disrespectful. The only bright spot was when we were reassigned to Shelby, who was professional, kind, and helped salvage what she could of the session. I'm leaving this review because it sounds like others have raised concerns before and nothing has changed. Management needs to take this seriously and provide real customer-service training and accountability, especially around professionalism and respectful treatment of all customers. This is our maternity shoot and we looked forward to this moment but the entire experience was so bad I even cried afterwards. I wish I can leave no stars on this painful review.

We have been going to Picture People for many years a few times per year. Today, the manager yelled saying "you are 3 minutes over. Out!" I HAVE NEVER experienced this type of customer service from Picture People. It is so disappointing. They were even training a new girl who had a very pleasant demeanor. Then, I explained my discomfort with the level of customer service from my visit to Shelby and the manager overheard(I believe her name is Yvonne after looking at my last review). As she was overhearing, she rudely cut into our conversation and said "you guys were 4 minutes late. We have other customers. I wasn't speaking to you. I was speaking to Shelby." She then continues to say "Shelby will get in trouble for allowing you to go over the time." Then, Shelby just laughed. That was so rude. I have never experienced a manager act this way. I told her instead of yelling "Out!" she could've simply said "this session is running a bit over. We will need to end soon." She made my mother, my children, and I very uncomfortable.

They do answer your questions in a friendly and satisfactory manner, but they do not take the initiative to update you while you are waiting. Looks like this trend has continued for years. Long version: The staff seemingly spends very little time, if at all, at the front desk. When I first arrived (no one was working at the front desk, typical of the countless times I have walked by the store on my mall visits), I waited for a good 20 mins until patience ran out and I walked into the backroom down the hallway with the computer screens to see the 3 staff members back there chilling (they were not with customers). I needed passport photos and the guy seemingly in charge (Antonio) said they'd be $16 with 4 copies of the same photo printed. I asked about whether the picture would be available to me in jpeg, and Antonio said "no," unless I pay another $40 for a picture disk... ok, at that insane price, no thanks. It turned out Antonio was the photographer and on the 5th headshot we found the picture I liked. I was not told how long I'd need to wait for the pictures to be printed. It turned out it took another 15-20 minutes. Finally finished, the pictures were acceptable.
