Even though my son had taken Water Babies and Advanced Aqua Tots for the last two summers he is still very afraid of the water. We started off this school year with an Advanced Aqua Tots class and after about 6 classes I was ready to throw in the towel. I knew I would be doing him a disservice in the long run by taking him out of swim but the constant screaming during the class was getting to me. He would even run from me when it was time to get his swim suit on and there wasn't much improvement during the 15 minute car ride to Emler. We tried switching teachers and classes but nothing worked. I was then approached by the manager, Mrs. Devon and she recommended private classes. To start off she did two classes with my son and then Ms. Emily stepped in. What a transformation my son has made. When I tell him it is time to go to swim he starts jumping up and down and after one lesson he even got upset because it was time to leave. My son is not the same "swimmer" he was a month ago and it is amazing to see Ms. Emily dial into the things that he likes and in return we get results. Her patience and kindness has been amazing. I can see the trust that my son has for her and that is huge coming from a kid that has a fear of drowning. I can't thank Mrs. Devon and Ms. Emily enough for their efforts as I was on the brink of quitting. Not only was my son screaming for the entire 30 minutes, I was trying to juggle a busy toddler. My nerves were shot. I am forever grateful for Mrs. Devon and Ms. Emily as well as the rest of the staff at Emler who have worked with my son. read more

Do not recommend Emler Swim School. I brought my 6‑month‑old and the class was chaotic and genuinely terrifying. We canceled our membership the same day with the manager (possibly the owner), who assured us it was handled--yet Emler kept charging us for two more months. I expect professionalism and accountability from any company working with infants. Instead, we were met with poor class management and unacceptable billing practices. We moved to a different swim school and have had none of these issues. Mgt was so eager to make things right for us. After the last incident, they put us with a fantastic teacher Ms. Molly. And my son loves swim class with her :) Warm smiles always greet us when we come for our class. All Deck Managers are always greeting me my name and making sure we are happy with how the lessons are going. If you can get in a class with less students- obviously it's a better... This place is amazing! Our daughter has been attending this summer for a week now and has made some serious progress! I'm really impressed with the whole program and the instructors. At first, I was skeptical about a swim school in a strip mall. But Emler surpassed all expectation. Their staff and teachers are extremely professional and are really there to work with your child's and their swimming needs. I appreciate this place and their style. There is a room for parents to watch (older kids) or the parents can be in the swimming area on the side. Although this space is limited. The bathrooms and changing areas are clean and kid friendly of course. We do a bath time babies class here which is a class for babies 6 months or younger. It is a 30 minute class that is free and they are trying to get you to continue on tho their paid class called water babies. There is very little pressure though and the classes are small in size so you do get a good amount of attention. read more

I'm so impressed with this place. My son who just turned 8 fell in a pool when he was 3 and nearly drowned and has had a fear of swimming ever since. He took lessons at the city of McKinney two years in a row and made little to no progress. This year we knew we had to do something because he was too big for a puddle jumper anymore. We have one day left and he is totally swimming on his own, jumping in and even went down the slide today! I LOVE the Frisco Emler! Joined the Bathtime Babies class at the end of October with some other mommies from the playgroup and I couldn't be happier! I'd intended to start my little guy well before 6 months, but we were moving to Texas, so I waited. He was 6.5 months old when we started Bathtime Babies and he's learned so much! Ms. Shakira is wonderful with each child and the parents too. The 30 minute class goes quickly, but it's packed full of fun and great teaching for the babies (3 months - 7 months in our class). There is plenty of space to get the babies changed before, and after, class. Including private rooms for the adults to change too. Every single person who works there, including the Director, Hunter, are so cheerful and helpful. I'm excited for my little guy to grow and love the swimming at Emler. read more

We started our three year old in swim class here about a month ago after the free evaluation class. She loves it and is progressing each week. They have a smart process of introducing new skills and longer under water (increasing by one second each class as the child is ready). The teachers are so friendly and are great at engaging the imagination and making it a fun class with lots of individual attention. This swim test is required for summer camp and about 20 youth/adults participated. Class was fine when it was at the 1:2 ratio. On the 2nd class, it became 1:4 and things became hectic. The teacher tried to get more than one at a time (A big no no and unprofessional) and sometimes let kids go on their own for a little bit. My son lost grip on the floatations device and was literally drowning for about 15 seconds. I rushed over from the other side of the pool and the teacher was not even alerted. The deck manager jumped in and got my son when I reached to the side of the pool. I nearly had to jump in myself! Unacceptable in anyway! The supposed "life guard" was 2 feet away and did not jump in until I got to the side. Now my son is afraid of water! The classes in the Frisco Athletic Center are much more professional and much cheaper! Plus, it has better facilities! Although they tried to make it up with private lessons, it didn't seem to be much of a help with the traumatic experience. read more

My son successfully completed the water babies course at the Dallas location a year ago. We transferred to this location and drove out of our way (past 2 other emlir locations) so that he could attend private lessons with a specific instructor. From the very beginning the experience with the site director was frustrating. There was a complete lack of communication and follow through when trying to find a time that would work for both the coach and us. It took several phone calls and talking directly to the coach separately for me to arrange this. I did all the work and yet I was the one paying $90 for a 30 minute lesson. On top of the struggle with the scheduling they didn't want to allow the coach any freedom in how he would teach my child. Keep in mind this was a private lesson not a group setting. The coach and I talked about the areas we wanted to focus on. The lack of communication came around again when the instructor was "let go" from Emlir. I found out from the coach a week before anyone from this location called to inform me. They called me the day of his lesson and told me that they would have to reschedule and find a new time that would work for a private lesson. This location is a complete joke and the staff here (at least the front desk staff and manager Devin) give Emler a bad reputation. I have sense moved to another location and am having a great experience. I recommend the school just AVOID this location as long as the current mgmt is there. read more

Even though we had a rough start, they proved us that their system works and their beyond excellent customer service leaves us happy customers who will definitely refer friends and continue swimming with Emler. I take the girl I nanny to her swim lessons every week. She loves it (she's 4.) Her instructor is really good, her name is Charis. She's patient with each kid and is very experienced. The girl I nanny has learned so much, she went from not knowing how to swim without me, to swimming by herself using both her arms. She has so much more confidence now in the pool. I love that they do a show off to the parents at the end of each session, to show what skills they're taught them. On birthdays they even sing a special bday song to each child! The staff is so professional and friendly! I reccomend it to all of my friends! read more

My son loves Elmer, his teacher Mr. Blake is wonderful. When my son first started at Elmer he was so afraid of the water he refused to slide down the slide and when he did decide to go down the slide, he stopped in the middle and had to be coaxed out. We are loving Elmer so far. My kindergartener just started lessons a month ago. He has worked mostly with Haley, but also Akila and Sarah. Every instructor has impressed me in several different ways. It takes time to learn these critical skills and we are in it for the long haul with Emler. It is very loud in the swimming area, but the kids manage to stay focused. The deck manage, Tammy, who is there during our lessons is excellent. She communicates often and well with parents about what is happening and appears to remember who the kids are. Both of my kids have been attending group classes here for about a year. They have many time slots open for every age/swimming level so I am able to schedule both of my kid's lessons on the same day and time. We have only had great teachers, all of them very friendly and professional, able to get my kids to be excited about lessons. Both of my kids have learned so much and are great swimmers!! read more

Highly recommended Emler Frisco... I enrolled my daughter in the basic program. She is 4 and was not a strong swimmer. The basic class taught her many tools needed to prepare herself and get comfortable in the water with out her floaties. She has now advanced into the next class and I'm really seeing her advance fast with each class that goes by. The staff is amazing and willing to work with each child. Management truly care's and check's in with you on your child's progress. As a parent I love how connected I feel to the management and staff. I see them interact with all the parents as well. They do care about teaching your child to swim and highly recommend placing your child in swim classes here. read more

Amazing school! They have great teachers who follow the Emler system. They will tell you what your kid needs to be working on and be able to gauge what level he/she is at. Just the right place for your kids to learn to swim. My oldest boys, now 14 and 9 learned here and now my 4 years old boy is enjoying it too. It was hard to find a place for my boy with autism and in Emler Frisco they made to work out for us, starting with short lessons to gave him the opportunity to feel comfortable in the water . His teacher John is outstanding ! Fun, loving and works consistent to build my son's confident in his swimming skills. Most of the staff knows my son's name and mine too, so nice! Last week a new child joined her class and was very scared and screaming. My sensitive child got upset and right away the director, Demond, pulled my daughter aside for her own class while the new child got settled in and comfortable. We highly recommend Emler Frisco! My son was taking lessons at a different swim school where he was very scared of water and started to get aversion towards swimming. But after we moved him to Emler, he is out of the fear and has made a lot of progress. It's great to see him enjoy swimming now. All the instructors worked with my son were great. My four year old son and I love Emler in Frisco. He has learned so much in the short time he's been enrolled here. I love the consistency. We were previously enrolled at Aquatots in West Frisco and my son had a different teacher with different teaching styles every week. It was very confusing and my son had a difficult time finding a routine. Not so with Emler. My son is in Mr John's class (he is great!) and looks forward to swim class every week. Our Son just competed his first "semester" at Emler. We took him on Sat afternoons which was great because it was during an undesirable time (for most people). This meant we had one on one time with the instructor. This was good until we received a message saying our instructor would be changing without a reason why. The new Instructor was ok but didn't know how much progress had been made so I don't think we were able to properly assess how my son fared and improved during those eight weeks. He did learn to go underwater without being afraid and took the big slide. The half hour goes quickly and for the last couple of classes he had other classmates which made that half hour go too fast as the one on one opportunity was gone. It is pretty expensive as well but may be worth it if you find a great instructor and time that works for you. We may return in the fall. read more

I can't say enough amazing things about Emler!! My 3 kids (6,3,&2) all started in the bathtub babies program at 4 months old and have been Emler swimmers ever since! Their program is wonderful and their teachers are so patient and great with all the kids, from the great swimmer to the ones that are scared and crying! Jean has been one of the teachers that taught my babies in the beginning and she is so kind and knowledgable! Blake is another teacher that I can't talk enough about! well i had my sons 6th birthday party here. the lady i think her name was christy was real good super sweet and helpful. BRING towels or extra clothes ,no one told me, no one also told me i or anyone over a 100 # couldnt get on the slide which is basicly the only thing in there besides two small pools , but finally the last 30 mins they say we could . also u can play music on there over head speakers and it was pretty good a lil expensive for that but it worked out. you should also know they make all swimmers do a swim test even for parties and sign waviers so ... if they dont pass swim test they make them put on jackets even adults so thats also something to think about, life guard was not to friendly but she did the job. read more
