I signed up for the adult swim class at $35/ class. In August I was charged for two classes and the enrollment fee. But then after my first class which was 5 days later I was charged $175 then two days after that charge I was again charged $192. I've only taking one class and I paid almost $500. I called 5 time and emailed 6 times. No response back. I emailed Elmer west to cancel my lessons. Still no response. Now I'm force by their policy to remain on for another month. This is what I call bait and switch! I'm filing a formal bbb and attorney general complaint. My recommendation is seek another school don't get "got" like me ugh read more

Well, I had high hopes after seeing small changes but I now realize Emler is all talk. They slap a bandaid on things and hope no one notices. My kids have gone here for two years. My oldest we have seen regress in swim since we moved here. He's been doing the same skills for two years! No changes or progression to more advanced skills. I also never get updates other than what I'm told at the end of class, which is literally the same thing each time. There's a high turn over for instructors here. If they actually show up to class they are late or unprepared. My "favorite" was the one who showed up late and laughed about the fact that she was late because she was hung over and slept in. Some of the employees are very unprofessional. They talk about customers within ear shot of other customers. It's incredibly inappropriate and immature. The facility itself is pretty disgusting. The bathrooms always have dead bugs on the floor and they reek of pee. The changing rooms have hair all over them and the drains don't drain well so you're often stuck standing in murky water. They have a new policy about makeups. If you cancel a class and try to make it up, they charge you $15. If THEY cancel your class, you can make it up but you're still charged $15! It's ridiculous the way you are nickel and dimmed. If you're looking for a place to babysit your kid at an expensive cost for 30 minutes, this is the place for you. If you are looking for somewhere that will actually teach your child to swim, I highly recommend going elsewhere read more

My daughter and son-in-law take their two young daughters, an 8 year old and 8 month old to swim class here on Wednesday evenings. I was able to tag along to one of their classes recently. My daughter really likes the instructors that work with the girls and the time and attention given. They also appreciate interacting with the parents of the other students since the class is filled with youngsters requiring a parent in the water as well. I also like that they have a bunch of bright clean restrooms and I like that Emler is in such a nice location. I will say some members of the front desk staff could be more welcoming by taking a few seconds to look up from their computers to greet incoming students,parents and guests. read more

Love coming here. My 3 year old runs through the door looking for his teacher and classmates. The office staff is always friendly.

We decided to enroll our daughter here since 5 months based on cleanliness and the warm changing station (useful during infant stage and winter months). She's now almost 19 months and have gone thru several semesters and teachers. She's very comfortable with the water and enjoys the class. Each teacher has a slightly different method of teaching, which we've felt the change between semesters/teachers. They've also recently implemented issuing tokens for canceled classes. We do miss classes due to personal events but when the classes are also canceling, it's hard to make up additional class time and they do not offer as many make up class times (only during the day for our age range) and have been encouraged to go to other locations for make up. We prefer to be reimbursed for these teacher-canceled classes since the cost of the semester is costly. Also, most times when I've called no one picks up the phone. I have left messages in the past and have received return phone calls and been hung up on immediately after answering or not received calls. It's frustrating when you have questions and cannot reach anyone, especially at the rate we're paying each semester. read more

When I called to pull my child out due to the guidelines they told us we need to follow with the pandemic and do not want to participate, I'm told I get a credit and not a refund. Only business during this pandemic that has refused to refund money. Completely unacceptable and shows how much they don't care about the families who attend. We do not want or intend to come back not only due to the pandemic but the inconsistent teachers who have been less than good over the past year. I use to love this school and now I see how money hungry they are and how much they don't care about those who were their students. Clearly you need my $250 more than I did complain on multiple occasions and even had to switch teachers multiple times. I will not be returning and I will make sure everyone knows how you treat people and keep our money during a national pandemic. Worst swim school in entire Texas. Always cancellations one hour before class, and when asked about it, they say chemical issues with the pool. Why do these issues occur for only this Eldorado location? They issue makeup tokens, and they never open classes for them; for these, they never open courses. Even if they do, it will be on Saturday at 8 am or 1 pm or some odd time, and the kids won't have a chance to attend. Giving one star is also a waste as they are not worth it. read more

When the door is open and you walk in just wanting to ask some pricing and you get a glaring look and a rude tone ... makes people not want to do business with you. Just don't do it! (They send incentive emails for 5 star reviews) We've been at Emler for 3 semesters. Our first one was great. The second started off bumpy, but ended well. This semester is awful. They have a revolving door of instructors which causes a constant rotation of training being done (during lessons). This semester started late December and we're now on our third class time/instructor. - The first one (two if you count trainee) weren't able to focus on actually teaching the kids anything. There was minimal instruction and class didn't flow how the previous two semesters did. They were both very new. - The second class/instructor was who we were with last year. She was phenomenal, but unfortunately left the school. - The third class/instructor could be promising, BUT she is also training somebody so once again they aren't focused only on the children. A 30 min class with 4 children around 5 doesn't leave much room to try to instruct them, plus make sure the trainee is understanding. My child was forgotten about for one task, then not allowed to do another "because she can't tread water." 1. She can and would in her previous class. 2. How will she learn/get better without practicing?? 3. If she had time to do it in class, maybe it would have been known she could. Outside of the issues listed, the bathroom floors are constantly soaked. It smells like wet diapers every time you walk in and the changing stalls in the pool area always have dirt/wads of hair/dust etc. I'd highly recommend spending money elsewhere. read more

Could not love this Emler more! Our daughter has been coming for a couple years and she loves her weekly swim lesson. The teachers are so patient with the kids and they have given our daughter the skills to swim with confidence and us the peace of mind that she is safe in a pool! We especially loved our time with Miss Nicole she is unbelievable. COVID update: they went above and beyond to make sure the swimmers, the parents, and the staff were safe during COVID. They've worked so hard to keep everything sanitized and safe and we are so grateful that our daughter was able to continue her lessons this past year. read more

I'll give 4 stars to the coaches and staff. But not happy with the recent changes in fees. They have literally doubled the semester from summer to fall without any update or information. When it comes to registering for new semester they send enough emails reminding us. But for doubling the fee, there are no emails. They simply go on deducting higher fees. When questioned they are saying it was in the forms! I understand recession and inflation is causing price increases everywhere, but 50%?!! Better go elsewhere! read more

The facility is nice, everyone I have spoken to either on the phone or in person goes the extra mile to make you feel welcomed and happy. When I called to make an appointment for my daughter, they answered all my questions and explained everything to me in detail. I was able to take her to a complimentary class to ensure this was right for her after a bad experience at another swim school (not Emler). She loved the class and instructors so much! She started the season and they keep an eye on the kids to see if they need to be moved up as well and talk to you. You feel so happy knowing your kids are in good hands. Even it seems if your child is struggling, they go the extra mile to help them. read more

They are very nice but need a new operations manager. The facility never answers the phone, so you physically have to go in to resolve or ask any questions. Then when you get there. There is always just one person behind counter assisting a long line of parents. While 2-4 other stand behind the counter unknowingly. No one greets you when you enter the building, they literally continue to talk to the guest without any acknowledgement. Every time I go to counter it's a 20 plus min wait. The facility smells during day like a thousand old wet diapers, when I brought this to the attention of the Op Manager she blamed the urine smell on the neighboring business. Which is a CBD shop. Smh.. they need someone to lead the business, it is a fail. They do not note the accounts of prior parent interactions. So there is no resolve. Then when I asked for information to escalate my concerns due to them saying they can not help me. I was given a phone nuMber to corporate, the op manager said she would email them. I asked for email address as well. I was told I could not have it because it was the corporate reps. personal email.!! How can a business email be considered personal. Especially when wanting to get a resolution on a concern not handled by the facility. To add more salt to my issue the last time I went in and waiting 25 mins without acknowledgment, when it was my turn I quickly was told she could not help me. Then goes get Jessica K. Op manager. She come out looks at me and the Info on computer. A lady comes up to counter who had been sitting watching her child swim. Asks may I ask a question. The op manager says sure. Looks at me and say give me a moment to help her. WHAT! I actually was so shocked that I allowed this until I seen it was not a quick fix. I asked that she return to finish assisting me. Whom She was called out her office to help in first place. I had stood waiting like everyone else. I also had my family in car waiting. Over a year I tried classes here for my 4 year old. once she attends three classes on 4th class they just pull her into water. Not every kid receives this well, they do this back to back 4 times until my child who was very excited for all 3 classes started whining that she doesn't want to go to next class. Shouldn't she attend enough number of classes to pull and leave aher completely in water?????? if pulling her and leaving in wate for a sec and pick her is the way of teaching, I can take her to pool nearby and do it easily, I need not pay for swimming classes. This same pattern happened last year, 5th class she literally started crying and it was standing near the door itself and we decided to try a year later, it was hard to make her comfortable throughout the year, we took her to swimming pools with us and showed her it is fun. Each kid has different levels of learning, teachers should recognize who is a beginner and who already attended many classes instead of pushing them to extreme beginning itself. read more

Five year old daughter learned side breathing in ONE class. I'm a swimmer, a lifeguard and teach water aerobics, but of course my child won't let me teach her to swim. Very skeptical about how beneficial this class could possibly be with only 30 minutes and three kids in the class. We literally just tried to work on side breathing over the weekend to no avail. Ms. Kaitlyn and Ms. Joy taught her in 20 minutes. read more

This school and it's teachers have been amazing for us! I just can't recommend them highly enough. My 3 year old daughter was terrified to be in the water without her floats she spent the summer in at the pool. She was 'that child' at swim lessons kicking and screaming to get into the water. To the point I was thinking I should stop lessons. The deck manager, Olivia, and her teacher LaTrecia were beyond awesome. They were so loving and patient with her. Olivia took her one on one when needed to help her overcome this fear. After 3 long months she is now enjoying swim lessons and swimming on her own without any floats!!! We were all in tears! We are forever indebted to both Olivia and LaTrecia in helping our daughter to overcome this fear and be water safe. read more
