I'm unfortunately disappointed with my recent experiences at Emme Beauty. I want to be clear that this review is not a reflection of my nail tech or the quality of her work, which I have always appreciated. My concern is specifically with the salon's communication and customer service. Last week, I called to ask if I could walk in for a quick nail trim and was given a time to come in. When I called back to confirm I was on my way, I was then told not to come because the salon was fully booked. Today, I arrived for my scheduled appointment at 1:30 and waited approximately 22 minutes without anyone acknowledging the delay or communicating how much longer the wait would be. I ultimately asked to reschedule. What was most disappointing was that rather than receiving an acknowledgment or apology for the lack of communication, I was made to feel as though my request to reschedule was an inconvenience. I completely understand that salons run behind and schedules change. My issue is not the wait itself, but how both situations were handled. A simple acknowledgment, update, or apology would have gone a long way. I really enjoy my nail tech and her work, which is why it's disappointing that the overall salon experience and lack of professional communication have left me feeling this way. read more

Called for a pedicure, it was my first time there, i never got a confirmation message for my appointment then when i show up in a week day , not busy at all that woman welcomed me with a mega long face followed by her terrible attitude , probably the worse service i have ever experienced.. then the owner handling of the situation like a unprofessional person... making the situation worse..Don't waste your money there , there are plenty more places to get pedicures in fair oaks .. read more

I've been going to Emme's for years, and Karla always does an amazing job! She's professional, detail-oriented, and makes every pedicure relaxing and enjoyable. First time at Emme. And the last. Went for a manicure and pedicure. Warning #1: When I made the appt, thought it strange that they asked if I wanted them both done at the same time "to save time". No salon has ever asked me that. I don't like double teaming because I can't fully relax. Too much going on. Now I know why they wanted to do that--- this place is UNBEARABLY SLOW. Just the manicure took OVER 2 HOURs! When I arrived, the pedicure person wasn't ready for me, she was still working on the previous client so I had the manicure done. I canceled the pedicure. If I had done the pedicure I would have been there for at least 4 hours instead of the usual 1.5 to 2 hrs max. Not good for the client or the business--which thrives on throughput. The place was empty. The manicure itself was terrible. Warning #2: Before starting my manicure, she said "let me know if I hurt you". WTF? She did not use acetone or apply anything to my nails to soften the gel and make it easier to remove my polish. She did way too much sanding and it hurt to get my polish off. Manicure was not that great. Interestingly I did not see her certification posted. She didn't seem experienced nor did she seem like up to date. Would not recommend. read more

It truly feels like I'm spending a couple hours with friends vs other salons where you just feel like a number. I've gotten to know all the amazing techs and they are all truly the best in the game. When I started coming here, my nails were damaged, short, and brittle. My nails are now long, healthy, and look amazing. It's all thanks to the team. I will forever only get my nails done at Emme's Beauty! I've had amazing experiences with my nail tech, Valeria, who can shape a almond point nail like a nail goddess! I had a horrible experience at previous salons that left me in tears. I message Emme's Beauty Salon on IG and they fit me in right away. Leaving the salon, I was in love with my pink tip almond nails. Now I have chrome nails and get sooooooo many compliments on them. I highly recommend Emme's Beauty Salon. Great experience here and will def be back! Everyone was great and seems to be far and above average to the skill you find at most nail salons in the area! My mom and I both got mani and pedis and even got the seal of approval from my mom.... Which is big, haha. Yomira did my pedi and mani and was so great. My nails were pretty intricate and she was very detailed! My mom had Kelly for her nails and Marissa for her pedi and both were fantastic! Can't recommend enough. read more

Looove Emme and my new bridal nails! She was very attentive to the more milky pink style of ombré I was going for, rather than that bright white most people go for. We went with the Valentino gel in Classic Nude that fades into the Soft White on shorter coffin tips. The only thing is that I didn't love was the shaping she did. I asked her multiple times to keep the tips the same width at the ends and for it to be symmetrical to the same finger on the other hand at the very least. But for some reason she still went way overboard, filing away on my left ring finger (kind of the most important finger for bridal nails) and right index. I had to pull my hand away from her to stop filing so hard. (See pictures.) Otherwise, my other experiences have been great. This is one of the only nail places I go to in SA even though I live in Austin now. It's too bad I'm moving out if Texas after the wedding! I'll miss this place! read more

Looking for the BEST wax specialist in SA? You've come to the right place. Lauren is absolutely the most phenomenal wax specialist you'll ever come across. I go to Lauren frequently for my Brazilians and she makes the process super quick and honestly very painless (I know ladies, how often do you hear that right?). But it's true! She's super quick and efficient, and pays attention to detail all at the same time. She's also has the BEST personality and made me feel super comfortable from my very first wax with her. I recently relocated back home to Houston, so I'm super sad I won't be able to support her as much as I used to. I've just recently started getting my nails done again, so trying out new locations. Was hopeful for this place, but I honestly just really hated it. I got lost trying to get there, but the staff was very helpful over the phone and sent me a pin, and I did end up getting there on time. I got a mani pedi, but was so wildly uncomfortable in the pedicure chair, like actual pain, that I was constantly readjusting and just counting down the minutes until it was over. I had both services done at the same time, and the two doing them were gossiping about how drunk one of them had gotten in Mexico, and I felt so out of place. There was nothing relaxing about it at all. Also, the appointment took so long, I wasn't even able to get all the services done that I had asked for. And then to top it off, my nails looked like this after 4 days. They split and chipped and just look haggard. Anyways. Will continue looking for a nail salon that suits me. Kelly the owner makes salt scrub, lotion & massage oils weekly & they were amazing feeling & smelled amazing. I LOVE this place. I love this place so much I drive across town to come here. The customer service and just overall quality of this place is so worth the drive. I used to go to this other place I won't name. It was a great location and they were always busy and did good work. But the customer service just wasn't good. It was just your typical feeling of they want to get you in and out as quickly as possible. I always felt they wanted up charge me and idk just wasn't a fan. This place is everything you would want in a nail salon. Vikki and Kelly are amazing and so sweet and genuine. We always have stuff to talk about and they really listen to you and don't shoo you off. I just really appreciate that a lot. Their work is always great and I always leave feeling good! They're also so accommodating as well. I had a bad cough when I went in and they told a lady to get me some warm water to ease my throat. So sweet. The only thing I would suggest upgrading is their pedicure area. It's soooo cute and modern but when I get a pedi I really love the whole massage chair and jet foot bath style. They just have a padded bench with a round porcelain sink for your feet. I called to change--if not, cancel if u couldn't accommodate the time change request. Wasn't cancelled but I don't think that should fall on the customer. In addition, when we discuss and u tell me u will "fix it" then proceed to tell me next time I will be charged it gives the impression that situation will be waived. She was very aggressive getting my cuticles off and of course broke skin.Then Evelyn decided to put glue to close the cut because of the excessive amount of blood that was coming out and also putting tissues which of course stuck to the cut. It's so hard finding a good nail tech. my cuticles aren't the best so let's disregard the untidy parts but the actual painting was just so unprofessional. I had residue of clear nail polish which wasn't removed and just painted over. Definitely not happy especially since it's before my vacation for the holidays. Response to Kelly: Thanks Kelly for following up. I did appreciate your follow up call after you saw my post on Yelp... but unfortunately, since I had to leave on vaca the next day I was unable to revisit to fix it within YOUR preferred time frame. Therefore, I came home and removed my nail polish and just put a clear coat over it. I did request a refund because I felt I didn't get my money's worth and since I was unable to revisit due to crunch time, it would at least give me some piece of mind to later visit and not feel that my money went to nothing. I agree that every business strives for perfection and I respect that, hence your follow up, but if you truly wanted a happy customer knowing that I had my son to pick up after I left you and a flight the next am, you would have accommodated me in another way. I'm sorry, maybe in the future I may revisit but as for now I'm truly not happy with the service. read more
