The food at Emmett's is pretty good. We ordered scotch eggs ($21, 2 eggs) and the salmon and goat cheese salad ($22). The salad was amazing. The scotch eggs were pretty heavy and can definitely be shared between 2-4 people. Our server was friendly but not super attentive and we had to ask for the check. Overall rating: 8/10

Travel for business. Try to stay away from chain restaurants, without putting myself in uncomfortable part of town Emmett's fits the bill and checks the boxes [[HIGHLIGHT]]Authentic Irish enough to satisfy my wants, but well maintained and " upscale " enough for my dinner companions , or as I like to measure with, "would I bring my wife here"[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very busy for a Tuesday then I realized it was trivia night. Lots of participation. PA speaker could be turned down a notch[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Some variations on Irish meals that were unexpected, but not disappointing. Having consumed too much weekly travels, I am truly disappointed and not being able to sample some of the amazing whiskeys on the two page selection. Our server was fun And attentive

I went to Emmett's for the first time for dinner and it was a lovely experience! I had the public house burger which was quite good, the whisky jam being a surprisingly good addition. We also had the cheese curds and egg rolls to start. The egg rolls weren't my favorite but I enjoyed the cheese curds. Our server was friendly and attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall it has a charming, high end Irish pub feel, with great seating options[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

"Irish Breakfast", served on weekend mornings.

Went back after they reopened, since I saw that they have an "Irish Breakfast" on weekends. I love a good fry-up, and can only think of two other places in town that have them (Eagan Arms and Morrissey's on Lake Street). Like other stuff on their menu, it's their own spin on the dish. No rashers (streaky bacon instead), no black or white pudding, no grilled mushrooms or tomatoes. The beans were not Heinz, though they were tasty. Lotsa flavor. Bangers were the same. The one standout was the croquettes. A regular fry-up will have potato cakes, but these were colcannon cakes! Delicious! I don't think I'll go back for food, but the new spot is very comfortable and attractive, and would make a great stop for happy hour!

Not a huge selection on the menu. Cocktails were good. Location was on Grand Ave which is always hopping.

Oh man. Where to begin... I've been going to tappers since 2010, before I was even 21. It was the…read morespot for the neighborhood usuals and it was a great atmosphere. But as the new owners have taken over, things shifted. Generally it was fine but in the last couple months things have gone downhill. The last straw was when I went in for a single drink with a friend, early in the evening and when we got our tabs, we filled out our receipts and left our tips and went on with our evening. The next morning, I was called by my bank about a suspicious tip amount that I had recently left (aka the evening before). These cheapskate cheaters and thieves working at the bar had changed my tip amount egregiously. On one single pint, I think I paid $7/$8? And my tip amount was over $30 making my one beer almost $40. If that is what tappers has become, it is no longer that quaint and unique neighborhood dive bar that Chris and Steve had bought back in the early 2010s. The icing on the top was that one of the owners was actually our bar tender that evening. Slimey and shady and when we called to inquire, we were hung up on. Let this place go back to the dogs. At least the drunks and townies that used to call Tappers their neighborhood pub weren't stiffing the customers.

The best place for sitting down. I've sat in so many places where I had a decent time sitting down…read morebut Tappers is different. Sitting at Tappers is just better. Sometimes I eat a pizza while sitting at Tappers and it's always amazing. Sometimes I drinks some drinks at Tappers and they make sitting at Tappers even better. I highly recommend sitting at Tappers.
