I've tried a few of the Thai restaurants in the area, including one big chain that I will not mention by name, and I believe this place has -- by far -- the best Thai food in town. It's a little hole in the wall place that I assume is family-owned, and it's in a strip mall. My favorite type of place! I only got my food to go, but it was some of the best Thai food I've found in my eight years of living in Florida. I got a coconut Thai curry with pork, and the flavors pretty much just melted in your mouth. The pork was nothing special though. I asked for Thai Hot, and while it wasn't as spicy as I would have liked, it's by far hotter than the joke that other Asian restaurants in the area give you. Perhaps if I have time before I leave, I will go in and sit down and try out/review the full experience. A friend suggested Em On's when I asked for recommendations for Thai. WOW... this place is an absolute gem! Although there was a big dinner crowd (which I always take as a good sign!) we were still seated in less than 5 minutes. The service was outstanding.. Amy was our server and took great care of us. Tom Yum soup was out of this world and Pad Thai was right on point. We sat at a table in between a few regular customers. In addition to delicious food and top notch service, we enjoyed conversation with diners at neighboring tables as well. In fact, one couple of regular customers were offering us tastes of other dishes right off their plate! My family will absolutely be returning and I'm sure we will be "regulars" as well! read more

My fiance and I visited Em On's a few weeks ago, on a whim. It's a tiny restaurant, and not at ALL fancy (unless you count the disco ball hanging from the center of the drop ceiling). However, their foooooooooooood ... It was the best Thai food I've had in all of Florida, by far! (I'm salivating just thinking about it!) We like to try a variety of dishes on our first visit to a restaurant, so we ordered the Peek Gai Tod as an appetizer, chicken Pad That and beef Pad Prik Pon as entrees, and tempura bananas for dessert. The appetizer was just a giant stuffed and fried chicken wing. The only thing we found impressive about it was its monstrous size. (Seriously--I think it came from an Ostrich. We ate it to be polite, but we'll never order it again.) The rest of the meal was absolutely DELICIOUS, and beautifully prepared! We got a kick out of the carrot "flower" garnishes, and the waiter was kind enough to explain how they're made ... and the dessert? Who'd have thought adding something as simple as a honey drizzle could make chocolate bananas taste even better than they already do?? Not I--but it did! All that food, plus two drinks, and our bill came to about $60 after tip. We were there for over an hour, so not a bad date night in my book. This is an excellent thai restaurant. Went there for lunch today and had a chicken red curry lunch special with dumplings as an appetizer. I had the spice at level 3 out of 5 which was pretty spicy. The dish was a large portion and very flavorful. Service was excellent as was the price point. I will definitely be back. read more

Just wanted to update my first review specifically related to the atmosphere. All my other visits were during the day. Today for the first time I went for dinner, after dark. The "exterior" lights they have inside, among others, really changes the character of the restaurant and adds a bit more to the ambiance. And just to touch on food...still amazing!!!! read more

Update: I've visited Em-ons 4 times since my first experience and have been pleased each time. Excellent food, service and price. I'm giving 5 stars for the price. My boyfriend and I went last night for the first time. We had a great experience and great food at a great price. The service was fast and friendly. We did the dinner special that they were offering and the waitress allowed us to get a couple things that weren't on the list of options. No hassle. The owner who is also the chef came out and walked around to talk about The guests and ask how everything was. It was great. We had Tom kha soup, pad Thai and chicken spicy basil dish. Well, not the best experience for my first time there. By the time I got home, 10 minutes later, I had to make a beeline to the restroom.... won't go into details but not fun. This is authentic Thai food. We started with the chicken satay which were delicious and accompanied by a sweet and salty peanut sauce. We followed with a Thai curry and chicken with a garlic sauce. Both were exceptional, tasty and not too salty. Will definitely order again as many Naples Thai restaurants are Asian fusion and this is truly authentic. Em-ons is some of the greatest food I have had in a long time. I was first introduced to their restaurant by a friend of mine for dinner after work in 2013. At first I was a little skeptical as this particular friend would recommend good food, but the place had asked me about how spicy I wanted my food. On a scale from one to five, I got myself a two. It was fantastic. This has simply become one of my favorite restaurants ever. The food is amazing and the people are very nice and polite. I have become personal friends with the owner during my weekly visits alongside the staff there. It is a nice restaurant that doesn't go above and beyond in terms of decoration. It is pleasant on the eyes and is a pleasure to always visit. I would highly recommend to anyone that likes Thai cuisine. read more

My favorite Thai restaurant, ever! They have a dinner special for $32.99 and it's such a great deal. My boyfriend and I come here and get 2 Thai teas, 2 soups, 2 pad Thai's for that price. The special usually comes with alcoholic drinks which is a higher value than the Thai teas but their Thai tea is so darn good. Their Tom Yum soup is also so delicious. Their pad Thai is some of the best I've ever had and I've had it all over the US and Thailand. We've also tried their Thai donuts with the cream glaze and again, delicious! We have been living in Naples full time for the last five years and one thing we have come to know with absolute certainty after eating many types of Asian food all over the globe (in Thailand too) and in North America's biggest cities is 99% of the Asian food in the Naples area is mediocre and is, unfortunately, Americanized. Em On is part of the 1% that makes the grade. For Thai food, it is head and shoulders above any other Thai place in the Naples area. It's away from the chaos of the touristy locations. I'm not going to pick apart the menu because everyone has different tastes and preferences and people always have different experiences. We have experienced most of the menu and the food is good and the flavors are what they are supposed to be. There is a wide variety of menu choices without them stretching themselves too far. You will need to go a few times to sample the menu and find what you like best. In season it is very busy and on occasion it service can suffer just like any place is a resort town can. If it happens to you, move past it. On another note, there is no good chinese food anywhere. When you live in a town where people think PF Chang is great chinese all you can do is shake your head. Except for one small place - Namba - the sushi is really poor everywhere and mostly what we call designer sushi with such a mishmash of ingredients and flavors you would have no idea what's on the plate if you closed your eyes. The state of Asian food in Naples is really poor. Em On and Namba are exceptions to that. . read more

We typically go once per week and we always start with Tom Yum Gai and every time it's as if we've tasted this deliciousness for the first time. The dishes are authentic and made fresh each day. Very disappointing. Not very authentic. The pad see ew and massaman curry weren't right. Being half-Thai and having eaten Thai food a million times around the world, these were not at all what one would expect. The sauces and ingredients aren't what are normally used in these dishes. If you want authentic Thai food, keep looking for another place in the Naples area. I just order boneless chicken wings and rice noodle soup to go ...they neither give me a napkin nor spoon ...no folk ... No chopstick .....the chicken wings is not bad ...but the rice noodle soup is too salty that I could not eat ... I put it in the trash..... I call the restaurant and let them know....they say come back to the restaurant for exchange another rice noodle soup ... I am not happy because they make me go another trip .... Masanam curry was good, went with a level 2 spicy but wish I would have increased it. 2 wasn't spicy.
