Absolutely loved their food, but I rate it 2 stars because they charged me double. My bill was apx. $42 and ended up being $85 on my bank statement. I figured no big deal mistakes happen.... I went in to have them give me a refund, they took forever, gave me cash because the manager complained about the 10 cent charge for the card machine. Even though I said I would rather have it on the card she still insisted in giving me cash. I took the cash and left.. They didn't offer me anything for my next visit... So I must say as much as I love the food, I am a stickler when it comes to how they treat new customers (returning customers). I believe this place is owned privately and not by chain style owners.. No pun. So this point is a big bonus. The service was good although I popped in at 3 pm on a wednesday so no one was there. I ordered massaman curry and sake. The portion was small, no avocado on it, loads of chunky onions and curry was more watery then i am used to.. The sake tasted like rubbing alcohol so I know the quality was not so great. I was ravenously hungry and appreciated the food, none the less.. The bill $32. I felt that was a little steep for that place. Two items. Mid day. Not super great. Hmm.. I adore Thai food so maybe I'll return, yet won't drive out of my way. Orlando and Tampa have the best Thai restaurants and selections (competition makes you better) in Florida. Living in Naples almost a year now and missing the Asian food options (Thai, Vietnamese, Burmese & Indian) from the West Coast. My husband had one of the curries and I chose the classic Tom Yum soup. Tom Yum is the equivalent of chicken soup and a "labor of love" when one can source the ingredients, not easy in Naples where the one Asian market is a hit or miss with fresh galangal root and lemon grass, and I've never seen Kafir lime leaves. Take away these key ingredients and your broth can be almost tasteless without the fragrance of what makes Thai ok or fantastic. This was the case with the soup broth on a winter evening in December 2015. The predominant flavors was spicy, completely missing the sour and distinctive punch Tom Yum offers on that first (anticipating...) mouthwatering spoonful. I commented to the waitress who assured me it was authentic and begrudgingly brought out the chef (also the owner) who noted my dissatisfaction by bringing us a new "to go" serving of soup. All the while pushing a card into my hand asking me to please write a review for Trip Advisor. I don't write reviews for Trip Advisor, even with a quart of free soup!! We had the soup the next day for lunch. It tasted about the same as if I'd added the pre-made paste to water, and added vegetables. read more

Really excellent food and service. We've tried everything from a simple Pad Thai and curry to other Thai dishes, that we didn't know anything about, but we just wanted to try something entirely different and surprising. I'm glad we did, because now I know I can order anything and it'll be good! My boyfriend and I always split our dishes, so we can try different options while we are there, and we've not once had a dish that was less than delicious. I'm a fan of spice so on my very first visit ordered a spice level of 4/5. It was extremely, extremely spicy, but I could still taste my food. The cook came to our table halfway through the meal to ask us what we thought because she was surprised we went with 4. Their 2 is considered medium. She let us know that they don't buy dry spices, but buy the peppers whole and she roasts then blends her own spices. For anyone that says it is over priced, it's really not when you consider that they buy good quality products, cut their own meats and blend their own spices. I have been going to this restaurant for over 10 years, I love the food there so much! I have my "usual" the S-1 soup and HS-7 entree - AWESOME. All of the curry is very well done and I have never had something I didn't like. Definitely a "hole in the wall" by naples standards, and well worth a visit. Grew up in Thailand and went back for my honeymoon, been visiting the best Thai food joints across the country my whole life. This place is authentic and delicious. Prices were fair and service was excellent, food came out quickly. We had a group of 4 (2 who don't eat Thai often) with 2 infants for lunch and we sampled Penang chicken, laab chicken, pad see ew, fried rice and crispy spring rolls. Flavors were spot on. Our favorites are the papaya salad, pad Thai, green curry and whole fish with three sauces. You can't beat their dinner special for $35 for which includes a bottle of wine. We are on the road from Los Angeles, currently staying in Bonita Springs. Having tremendous cravings for Thai food, our favorite, we read the reviews for Em On's and were pleased to find a cafe serving "authentic" Thai food for a $$ price. The restaurant was empty, and as we waited to place looked over the menu we discovered this is not a $$ restaurant, it is a $$$ or $$$$ restaurant, depending on what you order. My husband was not at all happy and wanted to leave. $17 for a serving of noodles with veggies (no meat or fish) is ridiculous. Because we were famished we stayed, thinking we were going to have a good meal. Sadly, our curry and noodles were barely suggestive of "authentic" Thai cuisine. The Pad See Yew used reconstituted rice noodles in a watery beige sauce with little flavor. Only 4 pieces of broccoli in it! Very distant relative to authentic Pad See Yew with the dark sauce made from Thick Soy. It was not flavorful in the least. The Massaman curry, which others have raved about, was also not flavorful, but I accept some of the blame for that because it clearly states on the menu that it is prepared "Mild" unless you specifically ask for that. I have never had to ask for mild curry to be spiced up to have rich flavor, though. If this is the best Asian cuisine that Naples has to offer I would steer clear of Naples and visit another part of the state. If I could give zero stars I would as the quality of the food we received was not worth the price. The pricing needs to be upgraded to more dollar signs. read more

Excellent! This was our third time here and it was as good as the first time. I had the Panang shrimp and husband had Pad Thai. I cannot express how excellent the Panang was and husband really enjoyed the Pad Thai. Service is excellent as well. Everyone there is extremely helpful with questions and very nice. They never seem to have an off night. Food is to die for. Very clean and on the small side so be patient if it is a busy night because it is definitely worth it. They also have great specials. Cannot say enough positive words about Emons! Really a true hidden gem. We have been eating Emons for the last 6 years on a monthly basis. The service is perfect and the staff is always the same smiling faces. We always order the same thing, spring rolls and chicken peanut satay for appetizers, for our entrees we both order the "N2" Spicy noodles with chicken and mushrooms. Went for dinner on a Saturday and expected it to be more crowded, but the word "cafe" should have told me it's not an upscale dinner restaurant. However the food was excellent. We ordered 3 different curries. Fresh veggies were perfectly cooked, flavors were subtle and delicious. I wish I could give this place ZERO STARS. My friend and I were looking for a place for dinner in Naples and looked on Yelp for suggestions. Reading the reviews, we saw that this place was rated 15 out of 835 in Naples. I would rate it 835 out of 835. I don't know if they were having an off night, or the food is truly horrible. We ordered the special appetizer, which turned out to be fried dough with a tiny Bit of shrimp. They were greasy and tasted fishy. Mee Krob shrimp had ONE shrimp, and the rest of the dish left much to be desired. Then pad Thai and pad King. Awful, truly awful. The dishes were tasteless, uninspired, and just plain feh. Over-cooked, over-sauced, tasting like canned or left-over food. I don't know if we are spoiled because the Thai restaurants in NY are so much better, but the lack of fresh ingredients, over cooked meat, and uninspired cooking left truly a bad taste. By far the best Thai in Naples. The decor is high quality wood carvings set in a small yet comfortable atmosphere with low lighting and classic thai music which almost sounds american sometimes. The food is amazing. Pretty sure it's run by a family, but not 100 percent sure on that. Whatever they do back in the kitchen it sure is high quality. I had the basic thai appetizers that most places have to make a good judgment for myself. The steamed gyoza and thai spring rolls. Both were very good. No MSG or greasy mess. Fresh ingredients with a fancy presentation. For dinner I ordered the rice with pork n veggies. It was full of great flavors with plenty to have for left overs. My friend got the Tom Ka soup and he was raving about how it's better than any places we have gone to. Along with his Pad Thai. Also the bill was not ridiculous like the places downtown.
