Ordered on Uber Eats, everything tasted great! The reviews on uber are great but since the reviews here weren't great I was a little nervous but I had no reason to be. The food is great. It's East coast style Chinese food so if that's not what you're looking for don't get it but if you are it's delish! Ordered crab Rangoons which were filled to the brim and tasted amazing. Also had sweet and sour chicken which was great, wonton soup, miso soup and beef chow mein all of which were delicious. They also gave us a bunch of fried wonton pieces for free which were good as well! Food came in good time and all the boxes were literally packed to the brim. This place is delicious! I ordered the crab Rangoon, yellow chicken curry, pineapple fried rice, and wonton soup. The curry has the perfect kick to it and comes with white rice. The wonton soup tastes great! The pineapple fried rice is the BOMB! If you like Hawaiian pizza do not hesitate. It's basically regular fried rice (onions, carrots, peas, etc) with pineapple in it. I haven't had fried rice this good since I was 10, and I'm now 23. And lastly, the crab Rangoon is perfectly sweet and creamy and fried to perfection. I did. in fact order delivery and on Valentine's Day (at 6:45pm, prime dinner time) and it only took an hour for it to arrive. I ordered a beef dish that had an unappetizing, slimy and powdery texture. It tasted almost like liver and had no flavor. My wife got the Hawaiian platter and the beef was as tough as beef jerky. We also got the lo mein, it was flavorless and the chicken still had tendons and grizzle all throughout. We ordered a few other items that were all inedible. We tried to give it a chance but had to dump it in the trash. We called the restaurant to let them know and the lady on the phone was incredibly rude and started to argue with my wife. I got a letter in the mail from this place for Chinese delivery. I thought it was cool because I didn't know of any delivery other than pizza. When I was placing my order the person taking it was pretty rude and impatient. She kept saying what else after everything. Then I asked if any of the meals came with rice she said no. Man was this place horrible! First I had one meal and it took over an hour to get here. When the delivery person came, she almost gave me the wrong food. The only reason I knew it wasn't mine was because I didn't order the 2 liter coke she DROPPED on my foot. Never order from here. Not only was the food horrible but the customer service was really bad. 1. None of the food was hot or even mildly warm. 2. The inside of the egg rolls were mushy as if it was chewed up before wrapping them, the wrap was soft as if they sat in grease for hours. 3. The rice was hard and dry, as if i heated rice up in the microwave 4. The beef in my shrimp and broccoli was soggy and the inside was still pink. 5. After the tip was added to my order, The total amount charged to my account was $5 more then what it should have been. When contacting the restaurant manager. She told me she contacted the owner and sent him my information and pictures and that he would contact me the next morning. Also if i wanted to order more food she would give me $10 off. Little to say. Two days later i called back and the same manager, said she spoke to the owner (instead of him calling me like i was told) and he said to give me back the $5 difference from my total bill after the tip and what they charged me. Then when i asked her what we were going to do about the uncooked beef (which i ate none, i returned it when i went to pick up the $5. she took the container and threw it in the trash and told me, "the owner said that's how we make it and if i didn't want it like that then i should have asked for it to be well done" Once i asked "so that's it i lose out on my money for the meal because it was uncooked?" she told me that's how its cooked but the owner said if you wanna order more food, he will give you 20% off your next order. Very very unsatisfied with this place, there are other Chinese places to order from. I wanted to try something new because they put a menu in my door and it was close to the house. Nothing about this experience was good or worth it in any way. I actually wasted money ordering from here. Disrespectful and rude, rice and egg rolls were old and the beef was under cooked. I do not recommend to anyone especially if you're in Camp Lejeune because they are not customer friendly by any means. They over charge me everytime I order. This last time, they charged us TWICE. We paid them using the Beyond Menu App, which pays the restaurant. Also, we weren't given a receipt because the delivery driver claimed he only had one copy. We have called both beyond menu and Empire about them charging us over $90 for a $36 order which took them an hour and a half to deliver!! Empire keeps claiming the owner is out of town. I am filing a police report for fraud and theft. Check you bank statement a few days after you order, the amount ALWAYS goes up. ****THIS IS A LONG REVIEW AND ACCOUNT OF MY DEALINGS WITH EMPIRE CHINESE RESTAURANT. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I called to place an order for delivery and the woman who would later identify herself as the so-called manager was extremely rude and short so I attempted to cancel within 30 seconds of giving her my card information and she claimed that the card was already charged. I argued that food preparation hasn't started so the order can be cancelled, to which she responded "DON'T EVER CALL BACK HERE". I then called back and asked if I needed to go up there to get confirmation that my order was cancelled to which she responded "COME UP HERE AND YOU WILL BE DEALING WITH THE COPS" and hung up. I made my way up there and when I arrived, I asked a woman behind the front counter for proof of cancellation for my order and she had no idea what I was referring to. I quickly realized that it was not the same person I was dealing with over the phone. This particular woman gave me my receipt and I left. Upon explaining the situation to my wife, she made her way up there to get the owner's name so we can file a complaint. As soon as she showed up and inquired about the name, the 'so-called' manager made the connection between my wife and me, and called the cops. After a few minutes an officer showed up and we explained the situation. He tried to enter the store to speak to her but she yelled that he get us off the premises, at which time the officer suggested that we leave and obtain the business ownership information by other means. We then head home and about 30 minutes later, a man calls me and asked "WHY DID YOU HAVE YOUR GIRL GO UP THERE TO TALK TO MY GIRL", confused, I asked who he was and he then stated "WHY DID YOU HAVE YOUR GIRL GO TO MY BUSINESS, I'M THE MANAGER". We had a heated 60 second argument and he ended the call by stating "JUST SO YOU KNOW, I HAVE YOUR INFO". We live on base and I alerted base PMO and a report was taken. TAKE NOTE: -HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND -MY PERSONAL CELL PHONE NUMBER WAS GIVEN TO THE SO-CALLED MANAGER'S BOYFRIEND SO HE CAN COMMUNICATE A THREAT. The action of threatening me alone should be grounds for restrictions or a ban to be placed on this business by the base inspector general. I intend to cooperate with PMO and help ensure no one else has this experience. WISH I COULD GIVE THEM ZERO STARS, STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS! read more
