I sent out a request for an inspection and a chimney sweep because we were getting too much smoke in our house when we lit a fire. A few responses from other groups would either cost more or have taken weeks before they could come out. Robert showed up with a handshake and a smile and went right to work inspecting our fireplace and chimney. He quickly identified that our flue needed to be extended taller to increase draft (I thought for sure I was about to get up sold), but rather than quoting me some crazy expensive price he said he would send a good option for an extender and explained to us how install it ourselves. Called Empire Chimney Sweep out to inspect and clean our chimney up in the San Bernardino mountains. Robert showed up on time and did a thorough job inspecting and cleaning our chimney, as well as fixing a failing storm collar on the roof of the third-floor cupola. Afterwards, he cleaned the fireplace glass and area around the fireplace and then (at no additional cost) spent additional time trying to help us figure out where our internal fireplace fan was located because it had stopped working. Empire inspected the fireplace, chimney, and wood stove in the house I was under escrow on in Morongo Valley. They gave a really detailed analysis of the issues after inspection and gave me alot of confidence about the existing issues and what would need to get fixed to use these features safely. When I eventually moved into the home I immediately hired them to get the fireplace, stove, and chimney in working order. They did really excellent work getting everything fixed up including sourcing original parts for a stove that is over 100 years old. The flashing/cap on the top of my chimney came loose and was flopping around and banging when the Santa Ana's were blowing. Every time there was a gust I was afraid it would fly off and hit my neighbors house. I called Empire and Robert came right over, went up on the roof and took care of it. When he came out, he was very professional and polite. But what I like the most was that he made sure that during his cleaning he kept the area clean.
