I got my chimney swept and asked if I needed to do anything to prepare and was told no and came home to my brand new rug being ruined by soot and my husband had to clean the soot off our brand new chairs. WOW! worst cleaning I have ever had! some sloppy lady showed up with her car and no ladder to clean the pipe, came in to the house and did a quick "sweep" of a brush up the pipe and said it's clean, one month later and there is no draw and lots of smoke. He completed our chimney sweep and said we were good. One month later the wood burning stove pipes began to leak smoke into the house. We called another company to checkout the problem and they said that it could be fixed with a cleaning. We informed them that it had just been cleaned. Long story short they cleaned it and it stopped smoking. We were also told with the amount of debris that was in our chimney there was no way it was cleaned properly two months ago. I hope after reading this you avoid this business to not have the type of experience that I just had to go through. I made my appointment with Bill 2 weeks prior and then when it came to day of he tried to cancel. After I told him that he could not cancel on me, Him and His assistant showed up two hours late and with the worst attitude I have ever seen on someone that I was paying. They were there to do a cleaning and to install a new gas set up with fake logs. I had been in contact with Bill for the last two weeks asking him about different set ups, sending him pictures of the old set up as to make sure everything that he would need to do the job was there and ready. He was charging me 150$ for the cleaning and 150$ for fire place set up. I thought that was high for the set up since I already had a gas line but I wanted it done professionally. Aside from the chimney brush Bill didn't bring any tools to accomplish the job. Something as simple as a flashlight he had to ask me for. He kept asking me for help as his assistant sat in the car and pouted. I was wondering if I was going to get a discount for helping him so much. Turns out he didn't have the parts he needed to install and told me I need to go to the hardware store. When I told him I was trying to do other things he said it was going to be 65$ for him to go to the store plus the cost of parts. (35$) Surprised none of that was included in the 300 I already gave him, and the fact that I offered to get him what he needed two weeks leading up to him being there to do the job. After getting back from the Hardware store Bill continued to complain about whatever he could. After the gas line was laid, Bill didn't want to lay the logs or the rocks for the fire set up. He said that I could do that. Finally, When Bill was up on the roof, He fell off the ladder, good thing I was holding the ladder, so that I could break his fall. The whole experience was a nightmare. I have no other reason to write this review other then to try and save you. STAY AWAY Big BEAR. Bill is not the guy to be doing work on your chimney. Also Have a Plummer do your gas line set up. read more

I called for a chimney inspection believing it possibly needed a cleaning due to the occasional gas odor complaint from previous guests and family members. Ronnie came out and determined that the chimney was clean and that the flue was possibly not being opened completely. Everything written in these reviews is true. It is very nice when you call someone who wants to help you solve your problem, giving you their expert advice, but not selling you more. We had a very dirty gas fireplace, not sure what we could clean and/or replace, not sure if we needed a chimney clean. It's gas...rather leave it to the experts.
