Stopped here on a Saturday morning for breakfast before setting out for the day. Located near college ag buildings in a small strip mall, we walked in as the only customers and placed an order. We got 4 donuts as well as two drinks. The girl who waited on us was very nice and friendly. We got a blueberry, Berry fritter, chocolate filled, and a cinnamon sugar. I also got an iced SF vanilla latte. The latte had ice cubes that were coffee which was a great idea. Latte was good - donuts were okay. Overall a nice place. read more

I stopped by Empire Coffee to pickup an ice coffee to go on a Sunday morning in July 2025 while driving to Chimney Bluffs State Park from Penn Yan, NY. This strip-mall cafe on the side of the road has a nice, casual vibe with an informal atmosphere. Unfortunately, the ice coffee was disappointing as it had a sour taste (perhaps it was an old batch). Also, the service was much slower than expected due to the customer in front of me who was dithering over his order. That said, Empire looks like a nice place for doughnuts and hot coffee. But I might skip the ice coffee if you're passing through town. read more

We stopped in here because we were craving coffee, it was raining, and the place has great reviews here. Let me start by saying, I have nothing against employing special needs people in any establishment, however the man working the counter seemed very overwhelmed and confused. We felt sorry for him, as there were other staff members there that could've helped him out but they didn't. He was unable to make customer's coffees correctly (we sat inside and watched this happening multiple times). We ordered cold brew which was served in a weird glass that was only half full and it was NOT cold brew. Both my husband and I are avid cold brew drinkers and it was clear that it was just iced coffee. The place inside also seemed dirty and drab. I would not recommend going here at all. read more

First time visiting, definitely will come back. The house glazed was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The lemon curd with black raspberry glaze was a great balance of sweet and tart and HUGE. Chai was also great, like a warm hug. I wish I could've stayed longer to enjoy their cozy store to read a book or play one of their many boardgames. read more

I rarely get to stop in at Empire for my morning coffee, but a two hour delay at work gave me the perfect opportunity! I got an oat iced latte with French vanilla, which has coffee ice cubes in it, a wonderful touch! I had been dying to try one of the highly recommended donuts which was also fantastic and had an almost citrusy flavor to it - pretty complex and delightful! Grungy, grungy, grungy. Look, I want to like this place. But when I walk in it gives me the ick. Doesn't feel clean at all. Had a matcha latte the other day and my entire outside of the cup was sticky. Also hard to enjoy your drink when the inside needs a serious cleaning. read more

Was visiting from out of town for the eclipse and was in dire need of wonderful hospitality and great food/coffee. This place wonderfully succeeded and fulfilled that need. Not only were the owners incredibly sweet, but their coffee was delectable. Not included in the photo was a cinnamon roll donut crossover, a sweetly delicious caramel coffee, and a handsomely sized flavor filled breakfast burrito. If you're in the mood for coffee, sweets, or savory you need to stop here and stay for the extensive amount of board games offered. Wish I could pick this place up and bring it back home! read more

My partner and I stopped by to try it out this weekend, absolutely loved it! We accidentally left our danish behind and they brought it out to us before we left, that was extremely kind of them and definitely won me over. I love Empire Coffee. The owners Rebecca & Dan are very welcoming, engaging, and friendly. They've created a warm and homey environment in this spacious, somewhat quirky (in a good way) coffee house. There are varied seating areas and different kinds of chairs, tables, and couches, so it's easy to find comfortable space. Empire is also very community-minded ... offering different classes , workshops, and game nights. Their coffee is delicious ... enhanced by a plethora of house-made syrups. Empire Coffee & Donuts is the best. The atmosphere is cozy and homey, and they make it clear that everyone is welcome. A whole shelf of board games?? Yes please! The staff is helpful and kind, and the drinks and pastries are wonderful--they have creative and affordable drinks for coffee drinkers and non-coffee drinkers alike! I love their matcha latte with lavender syrup. As a student, I really appreciate the longer hours and the selection of meal options for long study sessions (highly recommend the breakfast tacos).
