Stopped in for breakfast on our way home and we enjoyed the experience. This place was wild on a Sunday very busy but they made it work! I had the heuvos rancheros and hashbrown and my fiancé got the lox bagel with cream cheese. We also tried their famous strawberry cake which was awesome. Prices were pretty good overall and everything was tasty. The rancheros needs something flavor wise but otherwise was pretty good. Plenty of seating indoor and outdoor and lots of parking. You will easily miss this place if you are not looking for it. The only signage is on the building (might be an ordinance) but I am always on the lookout for places that are tucked away. They advertised Italian night on Wednesday so I thought I would try them out. You can eat in but it is not a full service restaurant. Order at the counter, grab your silverware and condiments , then bus your own table. I was hoping for spaghetti and meat sauce but all of the dishes were made with rigatoni, I didn't even know what that was but really pasta is pasta just in different shapes and thicknesses. I got the chicken Riggie. Chicken , Italian sausage and pepperoni with cherry peppers covered in a vodka sauce. It came with a salad and bread for about 15 bucks. Once I ordered my expectations were really low. It looks more like a breakfast place that had a limited dinner menu. What I learned is what they do, they do well. The bread was great, the salad was not anything special and only served with Italian dressing, but the entree was fantastic. There were plenty of pieces of each kind of meat, There was enough sauce to compliment the pasta but not overpower it and the serving was so big I couldn't finish it all. I have a reputation for not leaving food. The staff was a little confused. The young lady behind the counter made an error on an order and did not know how to correct her mistake. No one helped her, she spent 10 minutes or so and finally figured it out. I had to ask about the special and was handed a menu, when I got ready to order there was a different lady at the counter, I assumed the other lady was new and frustrated by her mistake. The lady took my order and we talked for a few minutes, she told me the history of the place and the other establishments this family owns. She explained that she had worked for the parents and grandparents of the current owners and had come out of retirement to work part time because she missed the people. I asked her for an itemized receipt and she told me she could not provide me one. I told her that I needed it for work and could not eat there if she could not get me one. She called the first lady over who immediately printed what I needed. Bathrooms are a big deal, the kitchen typically resembles the condition of the bathrooms. There was room for 1 person but they were clean, nicely decorated and well supplied so I am sure the kitchen is as well. I expected a 2, gave them a 4 so they really exceeded my expectations. read more

This place is awesome! So many options for breakfast and has good portion sizes as well. It is a bit pricey but the staff were all friendly and got the orders out in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend for a good filling breakfast! They have lunch and dinner options and it looks like they do catering as well. Smoothies and açaí bowls are also available in addition to the yummy breakfast sandwiches and homemade bagels. Good outdoor seating options as well as booths and tables inside. Food is usually pretty good here. You bus your own table, they call your name out when your food is ready and bring it to your table. The blues burger is pretty good (blue cheese and caramelized onions. Desserts are pricey and the bars in the showcase keep getting smaller and the price keeps going up, not sure what that is but I fully take notice. If you order a meal and pay extra for the sweet potato fries instead of regular fries that come with the meal you get half the amount of fries, which also makes no sense to me and I have mentioned it to the staff but they don't really have an answer for it. Overall it's a decent place for a meal. The beans and greens are pretty great as well. read more

What a wonderful way to carb load. Lol Wonderful, cheerful service, AMAZING baked goods, comfortable atmosphere. My husband and I both had the bagel with lox, cream cheese, capers, and onions. It was divine. The lox was very fresh and there was A LOT of it! He also had 2 eggs with toast made from their wonderful homemade wheat bread. It was delicious. I had to get a cookie as well, and was not disappointed. Shortbread with espresso baked right in and half-dipped in chocolate. It went perfect with my coffee. Just had a not-so-great experience at Bagels and cakes. I calling there three times to place my order. Put on hold twice (over 5 minutes) and finally got a mailbox is full so I figured they must be really busy so I decided to just go there. When I got there, to my surprise, there were only three customers in line and there were three ladies working behind the counter; one working each register and one working filling orders. Just as it was supposed to be my turn, the short young lady on the right register called out to her friend, who was behind me in line that she could "take care of her" so I had to wait until she had taken care of her friend to order my food (an Italian Stallion and hash browns). I didn't say anything because I could tell that she could care less. Then after, I placed my order I waited and waited while several people placed their orders , paid for them, got them and left. They screwed up my order and had to take it back to replace the home fries with the hash browns. By then I was angry; but said nothing to the perky little airhead, took my order and was walking out the door when I heard her say loudly "ANGRY" and the other two laughed. I grew up with the Legotts (Jean and Jimmy) and have always been a customer but, apparently now, if you are not on a first name basis with the help, too bad. I won't be going back. read more

You can choose healthy or not! Their strawberry cake is the best dessert!! Their Cobb salad with balsamic dressing is fantastic and a full meal!! We have been here 2 times now. The first time they forgot about our order. I went up after 30 mins asking where our food was and ended up getting a voucher for 25.00 to come back. We went back a month later with barely 2 people in the place. We ordered 2 of their Hurley sandwiches and 1 split grilled cheese for the kids. It was all subpar and we both decided there isn't a reason to come back here ever again. It was one of those places where you didn't feel comfortable or welcome. I had my kids and everyone else there was from the local college. I felt I didn't belong. I felt like it was more for the younger crowd. Even though I'm only 33. Not sure why I keep coming here. The coffee is not that good, the atmosphere reminds me of my grandma's house on steroids, the food is meh'... But for some reason I've been here 3 times... Granted 2 of the times is because it is right next to the auto shop I like to go to. Oh Roast Beef sandwich was pretty gross... The fries were good though... I am scoping out the area for places to buy bagels when I move to the area because I buy them buy the dozen. I read some reviews on here and decided to check it out. The staff was VERY friendly. I had my two-year-old daughter with me and they were very accommodating, although I wish they had boosters and not just a high chair. I thought the coffee was pretty good and I loved the bagels.. nice crisp outside with those lovely bubbles and a good chewy texture. I think one of the nice things is the great selection the menu has. I enjoyed the breakfast on my second visit much more than the lunch I had on my first. I visited the bathroom and it was clean and stocked. I will definitely frequent this place when I get there. read more

I thought is was cute when we walked in and maybe we just hit them on a bad day. I ordered a tomato mozz panini. They used the butt end of the loaf. Ok, I'm not 7 I got over that. Fresh and lively atmosphere. Inviting dining room. Employees know the regulars by name and face. Love it! Music is refreshing. So many places like this you walk in and it's dead quiet. The food is amazing. Everything is fresh baked in house and enticing. The hardest part of my visit was deciding what I wanted. Multiple choices in bagels, cream cheese, drinks, breakfast sandwiches, and OMG they had lunch ready to go to be heated up at work. Fresh homemade soup and it's summer! Asked for a gluten free wrap, and stated that I had a gluten allergy. The lady taking my order had a horrible attitude and took a long time to put in my order and then served me a WHEAT wrap. The servers noticed that they did not give me a wheat wrap, said they saw me eat it, and yet did not say anything!! I went up to the counter and said that I did not think it was gluten free, the lady said "yeah it wasn't on the receipt, we will make you a new one." No I'm so sorry for our mistake, nothing. The general ambience reminds me a lot of the great aspects of The Bagel Bin (out of business, 2011) in Brighton, NY. They have the same delicious brownies, and their breakfast sandwiches on bagels are phenomenal. They use real fried eggs. Really tasty. The customer service was not bad. The cashier was not overly friendly, and could have had a more positive demeanor, but I've seen worse. I would recommend stopping in. read more

I'm struggling to find anything good to say about this place. We walked in and it was packed, clean and the menu was huge. For starters, there are no servers. You order, pickup then seat yourself. I'm not sure what they are gaining from not having a serving staff because they had 3 young girls running around behind the counter that could have easily been serving. I guess the system could potentially work well if better organized but it simply wasn't and felt chaotic. Once we got our food, we realized they forgot our oatmeal. They apparently left the instant oatmeal in the microwave. 5 minutes later, they forgot to put brown sugar in the oatmeal. All in all, 10 minutes AFTER we got our food, we had our instant oatmeal. The toast was absolutely burnt which is just sad for a place that calls themselves a bakery. Why would you put burnt toast on a plate? Lastly, these guys can't cook eggs. Over easy was overlooked and barely had runny yolks. Avoid if you can but if you must... Stick to a bagel or pastry. read more

We had our wedding cake made by Lori here and it was wonderful, we got the strawberry filling kind and all the guests were really impressed with the cake. It was beautiful and also very tasty! We went in to have a wedding cake tasting. First, there is no special wedding area for you to go taste in. You sit down in the extremely loud, crowded dinning area and do everything there with the whole room listening to you. The cakes are not like traditional wedding cakes. They are all very heavy, dry tasting sponge cake with whipped frosting. Unlike normal wedding cakes they only use butter cream on the inside and used whipped on the outside. This is very unusual as whipped is normally used only on request either for customer taste or to save money as it is much cheaper than butter cream. The price turned out to be about what I expected, very typical for the area, so the cheaper frosting chose baffled me a little. They were however, very nice to us and let us try several flavors. All in all I did not like their cakes but it would be worth a trip to see if you do! read more

We were staying in the area for graduation weekend. This place looked cute from the outside and nice in the inside. As a manager of the only 4 star restaurant in upstate NY - I may have been expecting a little too much. Over easy eggs were over cooked and the yolk was oozing out, with burnt toast. Clearly, anyone would know to turn the heat down and never serve a guest burnt toast; I only ate 1 piece. The oatmeal was microwaved ... Such an easy breakfast product that could simply be cooked to order. Sunday's are the busiest times for breakfast, prime time 9-10am; they were slamming busy, forgetting orders and/or a piece of 1 persons order. The employees were nice , but unorganized. My significant other and I kind of giggled. We would find a way to put this place on restaurant impossible.. It has potential. With a list of things I would change ... I realized the owner must not have the amount of passion in hospitality/ restaurants as I do. That being said .. It will never reach its max potential. I may come back ... But only for a bagel.. Good place in Geneva next day breakfast after a wine tour. Its pretty busy, and the bagels are decent.

Not only was the cake delicious, but it was absolutely beautiful and the customer service was wonderful. This bakery saved me from a cake emergency the day of my daughter's birthday. With only a few hours notice they came through with an AMAZING Wonder Woman decorated 12 inch round cake, more than enough for 45 people. read more

Great bagel sandwiches. Had bacon, egg and cheese on everything. Coffee is very hit and lots of choices. Went back for dinner and had eggplant Parmesan. It was especially good.
