Ordered a bagel with egg, cheese, and ham, another egg and cheese bagel, and pancakes. I waited 36 minutes before finally asking about the status of my order. At that point, they searched for it and discovered it had been sitting there the entire time, no one ever called my name, even though they were calling out other customers' orders. By the time I received my food, the sandwiches weren't even warm and the pancakes were soggy and sweating from sitting in a to-go container for far too long. There was no apology or accountability for the mistake. For a New York bagel shop, the food is shockingly bland, basic, underwhelming breakfast sandwiches that don't match what you'd expect at all. Overall, a very disappointing and disorganized experience. They need to get it together. read more

I love there food & I love the atmosphere at bagels and cakes however each time I go there they mess something up. The people are very nice so I have no complaints about that part of the service. It's just frustrating that I waited almost 20 mins for my salad because they put the wrong name on the ticket. The other time I went they messed up my salad. read more

Club 86 Bagels & Cakes was recommended to us by some Geneva locals. Lots of restaurants are closed in Geneva (Sunday,Monday & some Tuesday), so not a lot of breakfast choices if you wanted more than coffee & a pastry. Bagels & Cakes was a good choice. Bagels & Cakes was a short drive (1 1/2 miles) from our hotel - so not really walkable. It was a much nicer building than we expected. You order at the counter (cashier was really nice). They have great coffee, breakfast sandwiches (we had ours on good bagels), and omelettes. Once you order (they make your coffee & give it to you to bring to your table) they will bring your food to your table. We opted to eat inside, thought they had a nice covered patio. They also seem to do a lot of catering (food choices looked good) & make specialty cakes. If I lived here - I'd be back. read more

Up here for work and we needed a place to grab breakfast. This spot is very cute and was open! We all ordered breakfast. The service was very quick and the staff was nice and accommodating. I ordered the Manhattan - lox with cream cheese, onion and tomato on rye bread. I opted out of the pickle. It was very good, but very messy. The only thing I would change is to have be lox added after pressing because the lox got cooked and it basically became just a salmon sandwich. It was also very messy to eat so prepare yourself with lots of napkins. Matcha was okay, very sweet for something that I didn't ask sweetener to. I did ask for oatmilk so the sweetness might have come from that. Overall, I would recommend this spot. It is very clean and quick. read more

Bagels and Cakes has been in Geneva for a HOT MINUTE! Until last week, I had never been! My friend, Dina used to work there. She and my friend, Melissa always told me to go in, but until last week, I thought it was just...bagels and cakes lol. This is why it's important to just...go in to these places. I loved it. I was happy to see that they had food..:like salads (and many other things to choose from). Was it pricey? Hell yeah it is! I was getting ready to come back to Idaho the next day. So I was just wanted to get a couple bagels so I wouldn't have to get anything bigger at like Wegmans or wherever. Just needed something for the morning. The bagels were cheap tho...$1.35 each, I think. I asked how much their salads were. She told me and I was like... yeeeeah, nah. Just the bagels and cookie. Any bakery like this, if they have any kind of cookies I like...ima try them. They had a sprinkle cookie. Was it expensive? Damn right it was! $4.00 for ONE cookie. Did I buy it? Based on that price, regrettably...yes I did. It was SO good tho! I attached pics. The back of it was so cool looking. Like a tie dye. Delicious cookie. I absolutely love love love cookies. I watch what I eat, but again, hometown bakeries...I will definitely try the cookies vs grocery store bought ones. There's just no comparison. $4.00 tho!! Absolutely insane! As tempting as it will be next time...I will have to unfortunately...pass lol. If they get snickerdoodles tho (which they should absolutely have btw) I will have to try those. They're my favorite. So the salad. I said no. Went to the car, sat there and contemplated whether or not I should get it lol. I know, it's just a fn salad hahaha! But spending $14 on a salad at small place like this...just seems crazy to me. Was it good? Sure. The chicken was definitely tasty. I added more Romaine tho when I got back to my house. The reason...the salad was small...especially for $14. I got it because it was just convenient. I was leaving the following day, didn't wanna cook anything. So I guess it was worth it. The restaurant/bakery itself is very nice. Very homey. Very well kept. They definitely take pride in their appearance. Weird even having to say something like that and I guess bc some times you go into places like this and they do NOT care about their appearance. So it's very clean, very inviting. The help was super super sweet! Couldn't ask for nicer girls. Just really nice people. I was there the evening of Dec 5th. Stopped by on a whim and am not disappointed. There are so many breakfast and lunch options. Seems like a well oiled machine as they were getting orders out very quickly and expertly. I had the BEC with jalapeño cream cheese and it was to DIE FOR!! I also had bites of the bagel and locks and it was great!!

We were headed out of town and starving for breakfast sandwiches even though it was almost noon. We almost settled for Dunkin across the street and then say this little gem! It's an order at the counter and they call your name situation but they have lots of indoor and outdoor seating. I had ham egg and cheese on an everything bagel and it was amazing, except for when toasting the garlic and onion got pretty burnt, but I probably should have just ordered sesame bagel. Hubs had bacon egg and cheese on white toast and hash brown which was phenomenal. I also had a cup of the chicken bow tie soup that was absolutely delish. read more

You're charging a good amount of money, but the cost is reflected in the quality of the food - it's excellent. Best bagels and sandwiches I have had in at least an hour radius. But I'll be honest, when you're spending that kind of money, the service needs to be friendly. The person at the counter seemed irritated with me both times. Which made me irritated. Great find as we were visiting the area. Trendy cafe with lots of good stuff. I had breakfast bagel and my boyfriend had avocado toast. We also shared a bowl of homemade chicken bow tie soup. The Boost smoothie was refreshing. Running between events at HWS, dropped in here for a late lunch. I had a protein smoothie - the banana one (I forget the name). Loved it. It's the next day, and I'm thinking how can I get back? Will try the green one next. Son had everything bagel, with an egg, and avocado. He was happy with it. Everything was fresh. Service was in the time we expected. The place has a large selection - something for everyone. They are happy to make changes. It's a cute place - colorful menu painted on the wall. The desserts looked delish! The bagels are excellent by any standards. I make it a point to stop here when I'm in Geneva as the Bagels are better than anything I know to the west of Geneva. The menu is quite broad both in the sandwiches they make with bagels and everything else. The cream cheese and lox spread tastes pretty much like bagels and lox and is much cheaper than their actual bagels and lox -- which if you want to really indulge in lox, is more like a roast beef sandwich made with lots of lox. Also a good deal. The drinks are good. Portions are generous. They make good coffee and have great looking breakfast plates (I always get the bagels, though). Bagels and cakes food was delicious - I ordered the bagel and lox sandwich on Saturday to go. When I got home, I was sad to see that they had made me the Manhattan - which is a similar meal but on rye bread instead of a bagel. It was DELICIOUS - but my hope was for a bagel - from BAGEL and cakes... they also left off the capers that I paid extra for. I cannot stress how the food I took home WAS delicious and extremely well prepared, it just isn't what I ordered. Part of that is also on me for not checking before leaving with the to go order. Inside it was also pretty busy but customers got their food in a chaotic orders. A couple that was there longer than the entire 20 minutes I waited for my food never got their order even though the other half of their party did. Whenever I drive past it always looks as busy as when I was there so I am unsure what the norm is. On Sunday, my wife and I returned to B&C because she missed out on Saturday. I ordered the same order food; Bagel and Lox with no tomato. This time I got the correct bread (an everything bagel that was extremely tasty) however they also added tomato to it. To me, the tomato slip up is more understanding than the bread, however, it was disheartening to go two consecutive days and not get a correct order once. Upon arrival I ordered a coffee, bagel, and sandwich. I was brought over my sandwich and coffee that had no milk, which I had to ask for. Later while finishing my meal, I went over to check on my bagel which had never arrived. The overall average Yelp rating is correct. This was a carry out experience. Hubby got a breakfast sandwich and I got a plain English muffin toasted. We asked for butter on the side ( counting calories). When we unpacked the bag out in the car, we realized the butter was not on the side, but the muffin was dripping in it. Sigh! No strength to go back, just ate 3/4 of it. The dragonfruit smoothie we shared was a good healthy one. Hubby's sandwich was just okay. He preferred Dunkin 's the next day as it was bigger, cheaper, and more filling. So yes, it's average. read more

I ordered avocado toast. It was a VERY generous serving, but I would have rather had a half of a serving. The bread was whole grain, but even after toasting, was way too soft and collapsed under the heavy weight of avocado. It needed a more sturdy bread. It bordered on soggy, especially with tomatoes. Not sure I would order it again. I wanted a salad, but they are too big if you just want a small bite or don't have much time. I would be very happy if they had half salads/one slice avocado toast. This place works for breakfast while traveling to the area. I got a hazelnut latte, bagel with cream cheese, and home fries. The home fries were perfectly textured, but needed to be accompanied by ketchup to balance out the overwhelming amount of seasoning. The bagel was decent. Better than you would get at a Dunkin' Donuts but not up to par with your favorite bagel shop back home. I found the latte to be diner grade. Let me start by saying I have enjoyed the food here and was a frequent customer up until about 2 months ago. My wife and I would order at least once a week. We stopped ordering from Bagels and Cakes as the service was becoming worse. Well this week we decided to give it another shot. I called and was first put on hold for 10 minutes so I'm assuming they just forgot to pick the call up. So instead I drove in and ordered a buffalo chicken wrap. I waited for my order then drove home. After I opened my order I realized it was a regular ranch chicken wrap. I called the restaurant and let them know what happened as I understand mistakes do happen and orders do get messed up. Instead of offering to fix the problem I was transferred to who I was told was the cook. The cook asked me the problem, I explained and then heard him yell to someone else if they made a Buffalo chicken wrap or another type. He told me the other cook made the correct wrap and he him self witnessed it being made. I assured him it wasn't correct and I would bring it back to show him. At this point I could tell he was irritated because he said "sorry we will talk to you later" and told me to bring it back if I had a problem with it. so I drove back another 15 minutes later and met with the manager who then looked at the order confirmed it was wrong and did refund me for the wrap portion of the order. Well I appreciate the refund that's not what I drove back for. I live over 12 miles from this restaurant so it wouldn't make sense to drive back for a 12 dollar refund. They just couldn't grasp the concept of owing the mistake and trying to fix it. Instead nothing but excuses from the manger and saying it happens over and over. This was really not a review I wanted to write as I was a long time customer but at this point it's the only way I can see getting the word to the owners to make some improvements . I don't know if it's training, staffing problems or just entitled young people running a business with know guidance but I hope they can turn it around.
