The communication and scheduling was lacking, so we were a little frustrated, but it didn't prepare us for the ordeal we were going to be dealing with. We live in an old house, 1920's. My husband expressed this many times, that appropriate measures would have to be taken as we had lead in our old windows and trim. I heard him over the phone as well as in person and he was assured they would take the steps necessary. The day the windows were to be replaced, my kids and I left the house. Two windows were in our daughters room, the other in our guest bedroom. One window was oriented the wrong way and still installed. The worst part was, after removing the old windows, the workers took leaf blowers out to blow debris out into the yard below and all over the rooms. My husband ran upstairs and yelled at them to stop, that once again, there was lead paint involved. They stopped and cleaned up, but not well enough. My husband wiped everything down afterwards, not trusting it was cleaned properly. A few months later, my daughter received test results showing elevated levels of lead in her blood. It was quick and not a single other person in our family had any detectable levels. I was livid. I'm still livid. I don't care that one of our windows is wrong or that it took forever to arrange communication. I'm livid that lead safe practices weren't followed as promised and my child had to pay for it. You can't put a price on that. Thankfully, she's grown, and the situation is under control now, but if you have an old house, I would absolutely not recommend this company. To the owner, if your business gives homeowners your word that things will be done safely and following safe standards, you need to follow through. Safety should be top priority. This could have had a very poor outcome.

Some were original old windows while other ones were newer vinyl windows but our windows were not energy-efficient and some had broken seals. So we knew that we needed to invest in windows in our home. It felt very overwhelming trying to find which window company to go with. We had the super expensive Anderson windows come out and well, that company was not for us. Our budget for windows couldn't even cover two rooms of new windows let alone the whole house of windows. So we heard good things about WeatherGard and called to have a representative come out to the home to give us a quote. so happy that we did! The representative came out to our home and was not pushy and not typical sales person. We got to see their products and were impressed with the middle of the road type windows that they had. Not cheap like other companies but also not crazy expensive like the other company I mentioned. Our quote and job was huge! Replace two door walls, put in a bay window and replace all the other windows in the home. The price for the job included cleaning up and disposing of our old windows. We also got a discount for putting a yard sign in front of our house for advertising. Financing was available and it was through Michigan saves. The whole process couldn't have been easier. The only thing I would've changed is not replacing our windows in the dead of winter. But other than that the crew that came were professional and clean. Since getting windows a couple years ago our energy bill has gone down drastically. We noticed a difference right away with not having to use as much heat or air conditioning because the windows were still energy efficient. I'd recommend WeatherGard again and again!

Siding, roof snd gutters look great and are functioning well. It appears to me that the company relies on long history too much. Sales and service support could be enhanced. I didn't find these to be Ryan McGlinch's primary skills. Our project manager was very polite. However, was not here often enough and didn't demand accuracy and follow through from a homeowner's perspective. At time of the project and soon afterwards I was very disappointed and stressed that I had to request a number of follow up calls for work omissions. In fairness to McGlinch associates, they responded to address, correct mistakes of the initial crews thus demonstrating that final customer satisfaction is a high priority. To improve, McGlinch could be more proactive ensuring detailed work is accurately completed, and provide a process for customer satisfaction without requiring the customer to become upset and then have to complain to get a required response.
