He wasn't honest at all form the pricing he started that my payments would be $80.00 per month no Truth on that my total purchase price was $7.000 seven thousand dollars for 4 small windows that won't allow me to get a window air conditioner in my 2 double hung Windows that I purchased from them. When I spoke with Larry Cook here with this company manager or other. he was Very dismissive started harsh and screaming by saying we aren't air conditioner people which I never said you were however with 2 measuring people one Douglas Ross and the second one said had no business card to give stated we don't give them out but had a marked vehicle all employees doing business should have them or reality is you have no business doing business Larry was not only rude and dismissive about trying to reimburse me for a minimum of $1. 500 fifteen hundred dollars in the phone conversation twice he was not only harsh and yelling.to me as a existing establishment client returning for the second time He was insulting me saying I sounded drunk. Yesterday I had a specialist come to my home to provide a quote on a front window (three parts: L crank, R crank and small transom overhead). From the moment Alex entered, he was sizing up our home - it's size, what we have on the interior - as if he factored what kind of neighborhood we live in, into his price. During our negotiation, Alex kept asking if it was a matter of financing, that I was not happy with the prices. He asked three times, which was insulting after I had told him I would be paying cash. He was also disrespectful in the fact that he asked twice to speak with my pregnant wife - who was on a conference call, and also does not need to deal with this. This was after I had already informed him that I would be the only one making the decisions on this matter, as this is of no interest to her. The price for the bedroom window was $13,515. In order to give us a deal, he wanted to look at the rest of the windows in our home. He picked out two others that he could replace for the "deal" of $12,638 - which, by the way is not a deal if I didn't ask to replace those. In this, he had factored the BOGO offer, 10% off cash payment, previous customer discount, and signage discount (90 day sign in our yard) - the price came down to $7,862. Clearly, I wasn't satisfied with the price. That is astronomical. We renegotiated. The price was brought down to $3,706, for JUST the one bedroom window. I told him if he can do $3k for the one window which sounded fair, we can make it a deal. He paused, agreed to the pricing, shook my hand and stated, "Welcome back to Weathergard." With that, he left to get his tablet. The tablet was provided to me to sign outright - I asked to view where the price change had shown $3,000. The price had in fact, not changed. He stated we never agreed on this. Also, the signage was raised to 120 days - two signs in our yard, which I did not agree to. I had enough of the games, I told him it was time to go. At this point, it got weird. Alex sat there and wanted to keep arguing. He was reminded that it was time to go and there would be no deal made, and that the interaction was being recorded. He wanted to continue arguing. As we finally made our way up the stairs, he continued to go at it with me stating his inaccurate version of events. Honestly, this interaction made me sick to my stomach. I don't enjoy inviting strangers into my home to disrespect me and take advantage of my finances, especially someone that wants to get into arguments with the customers in order to force a deal on their end. What kind of unstable people do you have working for you? He absolutely made me uncomfortable as a man; I cannot fathom my wife needing to deal with him alone, or an elderly couple. Here's the revised review reflecting the clarification: I'm very disappointed with my experience. During the first visit, I was given a verbal quote but nothing in writing. I had them come back out to quote our bay window, but during both visits, the window above our kitchen sink was missed. The salesman came to my house and gave me a quote for a new storm door and frame. The salesman told me $915. I asked for the quote in writing he said he would give it to me no problem but never did. When I followed up and requested to move forward with the quote, they said it would be $1700. What an increase! I was very disappointed with this situation. A couple of door-to-door salespeople came to my home, whom I normally turn away. It just so happened that I had decided to install French doors and replace a sliding door. I went ahead and scheduled a salesperson to come back and provide a quote. Oddly, they insisted that my wife had to be present for the sales process. This was difficult, as we own multiple businesses and our schedules do not always align. On the initial scheduled time, I had to cancel because my wife was unavailable. I decided not to contact them again, knowing this would be an issue. They contacted me, and I explained the concern. I was told they could schedule without her, so I made another appointment and stayed home. They did not show up for the meeting--no call, nothing. I called them after two hours of waiting, and the operator said she would inform the relevant people. This was Wednesday, October 23rd. On Monday, October 28th, they called me again. The person on the phone seemed clueless about what had happened and said the meeting was not confirmed in their system. She tried to schedule another appointment, and I explained the situation again. She insisted both homeowners had to be present. I informed her that I own the home, so the homeowner would be there. She asked if my wife was part of decision-making, which seemed odd. We've been married for 26 years and agree on projects, but we don't meet contractors together due to our schedules. So, we did not schedule an appointment. Two days later, WeatherGard called again to schedule an appointment. I explained the situation once more. This time, the person acted like she could schedule it, but then transferred me to the same person I spoke with on Monday, who gave the same speech. I repeated my concerns, and she said she would ask senior management. She came back with the same answer. I asked why they were wasting my time and said I would now call other companies as I had originally intended. I highly recommend not answering your door if WeatherGard comes to visit. He started by degrading the name of multiple competitors to us, then said the company that did all our windows lied to us about where they get their windows and that no other company would offer a lifetime warranty on windows and (the company that did all our windows makes them in their factory they don't buy them from big box stores and they offer lifetime warranty that is Transferable!!!) he named a specific competitor and said they will charge u $9200 for a standard size sliding door, then he came in with his BUT I can do it for less and give u a discount. 1 slider cheapest available $4800. Then when we said that for that price we would just do it ourself. He laughed in our face and said quote " what are you gonna buy it from Menards and have it look like crap, you would be stupid to do that" not even joking, we told him to leave. We moved into a house that was still under warranty that had weathergard vinyl windows put in the very early 2000's. They have not held well at all. They are double pane windows almost all have condensation in between the panes. The majority of the weather seals are warped and cracked. I called on the warranty that unfortunately ended up being non-transferable to new owners. I told them I would make my house a display house for anyone in the neighborhood considering weathergard products to show them how they hold up. They changed their tune and came and replaced a few weather seals but not all of them. Maybe 3 out of the 7 or so damaged windows. I did notice the new stripping is a different material. I hate vinyl products anyhow, they are too susceptible to temperature extremes and are cheap imo. But for what I am sure they cost the previous owner, they have not stood the test of time. Where to go to get new windows!? That was our thought when we bought an older home that had a hodgepodge of windows. Some were original old windows while other ones were newer vinyl windows but our windows were not energy-efficient and some had broken seals. So we knew that we needed to invest in windows in our home. It felt very overwhelming trying to find which window company to go with. We had the super expensive Anderson windows come out and well, that company was not for us. Our budget for windows couldn't even cover two rooms of new windows let alone the whole house of windows. So we heard good things about WeatherGard and called to have a representative come out to the home to give us a quote. so happy that we did! The representative came out to our home and was not pushy and not typical sales person. We got to see their products and were impressed with the middle of the road type windows that they had. Not cheap like other companies but also not crazy expensive like the other company I mentioned. Our quote and job was huge! Replace two door walls, put in a bay window and replace all the other windows in the home. The price for the job included cleaning up and disposing of our old windows. We also got a discount for putting a yard sign in front of our house for advertising. Financing was available and it was through Michigan saves. The whole process couldn't have been easier. The only thing I would've changed is not replacing our windows in the dead of winter. But other than that the crew that came were professional and clean. Since getting windows a couple years ago our energy bill has gone down drastically. Called to get an estimate for multiple windows at home. Brandon required all decision makers at home. I get it. But the method he used was oppressive, repetitive and exhibited a feeling that HE is in control, not the home owner. Strike 1. He mentioned that the windows are painted and through-color. That means if there are any scratches for whatever reason, you would see the real material color showing through. Strike 2. After setting up a meeting, he called again, and again started peppering me with questions if I would be home at 9am for a 1 hour meeting. I said yes. Then he hedged and said 'Well, you know, we may be late and come at 10, are you going to be home still?'. These questions are the same ones we covered the first time he called. Why all the questions again? Not tolerating this controlling and condescending attitude from someone over the phone. I committed originally. Enough. But no, he did not seem to understand that. So I am done with WeatherGuard. I cancelled the meeting as I do not appreciate someone trying to make me feel like a kid and like he is my parent trying to reprimand me or something. We got every sleazy sales pitch in the book. My review isn't based on their products. First red flag was being reminded at least 3 times that they would not give us a quote unless we were both present (to force our decision faster), then showing up early and taking up 3 hours of our time (sunk time/cost fallacy), showing us horror stories of other people's bad windows/installations from "the other guys" (oddly no after photos though), hey look a bulldozer can drive over the window it won't break! Here's a weird demonstration about how our windows absorb heat better, how impressive! Then came the outrageously fake discounts (the difference in initial "retail" price down to final price before they left was a difference of $18K for 4 windows..get real). Of course the condition was that we had to commit right then and there without a thought and allow them to put their marketing materials all over our yard. If we wanted to think about it and call tomorrow, suddenly the price would be $6K higher. Then came the guilt trip as they were finally leaving at almost 9:30pm (drove over an hour to get there, they only make money on commissions, they worry we'll never see such a good price, etc.). Very much their sales tactic is to manipulate and guilt you into buying something for potentially 10s of thousands of dollars without having the opportunity to at least sleep on it to make a rational decision. We were in desperate need for new windows in the back room of our home. As a first time home owner I wasn't sure where to go so I started asking friends, family and people in the building industry for recommendations. WeatherGard was the company mentioned by numerous people so I researched online reviews to verify that customers outside my circle were also happy with their services. I knew going in that these aren't the cheapest windows, but I'm a firm believer in the concept, "you get what you pay for". I am also extremely cautious of being taken advantage of, so I was on guard when deciding to schedule our free in home estimate. The last thing I wanted was a pushy sales person to show up. On the day of our appointment, John showed up on time and equipped with samples of their products. He was professional, knowledgeable, friendly and more importantly, he was NOT pushy. We were relieved when he listened to what we wanted and didn't push us to do more than what we were prepared for. He took the time to show us their products, explained the benefits or disadvantages and answered all of our questions. I got the vibe that he was honest, genuine and firmly believed in the products he was selling. We had a couple odd shaped windows in that room that didn't necessarily need replacing, so he gave us quotes with or without those included. We were upfront with him from the start that we weren't planning on financing or going into debt for this purchase and we would contact him when we had the money saved. He respected our decision and didn't push us to finance. He was also honest with us about timing for window orders. Covid has slowed everything, so he let us know upfront that it could take 14-16 weeks to get all the materials in and manufactured. We took his contact info and said we'd contact him when we were ready. A few months later we had our deposit saved so called John and put in our order (without the odd shaped windows). He didn't push us to do any upgrades or add those windows and he honored our quote and put our order in. He said that they were still running 14-16 week manufacturing times, so they'd be ready in the fall. We were ok with this because it gave us time to save up the remaining cost that was owed after install. We finally got the call that they were in and we scheduled our install date. Yesterday our installers, Craig and Jacob showed up on time and ready to work. They replaced a sliding glass door wall and 4 windows. As I watched, it was clear that they were experienced and knew exactly what they were doing. They were also extremely clean and meticulous with their workmanship. They paid close attention to measurements, lining up trim, caulking, and sealing up any gaps to prevent drafts. They also cleaned as they went. By the time they left there weren't any scraps or construction dust left behind. Overall the job took about 6-7 hours. We are 100% satisfied with the overall experience and we are so happy with these windows and door wall, they look great and the quality is fantastic. We already notice that they aren't letting in any cold drafts! We will be sure to call John again when we're ready to do the rest of the house! read more

I had a representative from this company in my home. I received a quote for seven Low-E (high-efficiency windows). The representative presented a long-winded presentation bashing other companies and their product's ability to keep our home cool. An hour and a half demonstrations never revealed that Weathergard sells windows with one, two, or three layers of protection --three levels for the purpose of blocking UV rays. The windows that were installed were NOT THE ONES IN THE DEMONSTRATION. We found out one year later by chance. Another company underbid them for the remainder of the 29 window job. I asked the other company while testing the efficiency of their windows, to test our others. Weathergard windows maxed out at about 77% block of UV rays instead of the more than 90% sold to me in the super long demonstration. Upon the discovery, the manager said, "My customers don't complain about their windows. They generally say that they are better than what they expected." I replied, "I 'am' your customer, and I'm complaining." He then compared my complaint and the competitor's test to the bad press that President Trump receives from the media. He also made me aware 25 minutes of his time had been spent talking and that I had signed a contract. Lastly, had I contracted the remaining windows with his company and 'discovered' the difference, he could have switched them for the ones with three sheets of protection. Placed order for 18 windows and 3 door walls the end of December 2021. Supply chain issues delayed installation until July. Installation was quick, professional, good clean-up. After installation we discovered a ding on one door wall. Sent them pictures, and the door wall was repaired, plus all the window latches checked for alignment. l I am extremely satisfied with WeatherGard Windows.
