Price gouging at its worst! I just had my oil tank filled and the price is 5.99 a gallon. We could literally go to the gas station and pay 1.50 less per gallon. So this is an extreme mark-up for a critical supply, isn't it? I've used Empire Fuel for the past three years and while I haven't exactly been happy with the way they are noncommittal with delivering services (god forbid you run out, you'll be making that trip to the gas station to refill enough to have heat/hot water for a couple days), I never could even imagine the price hike that has happened between my last delivery a little over a month ago and today. I'm fully aware of the situation of increase with oil prices, but this is just outrageous. Also unfair is how they charge you the most they can charge you as soon as you request services and only after it's clear you don't need that full amount do they then credit your card... which of course can take 5 business to reflect on your available credit read more

Fair weather driver. I was called to be told driver refused to deliver for 2nd time. Driver states that road was not wide enough at bend. ( some snow on edge of driveway) from where the bend was to the tank would be approximately 75 feet. So why not use the 100 foot of hose to make the deliver? When I called the first person I spoke with was rude when I questioned this and she repeatedly said to me do you understand me like I was her child. When the supposedly manager got on the phone once again not the most pleasant person to deal with. When talking to me he made a rude remark and when I said back to him no shit he hung on me. I would not recommend this company to anyone they let you run out of fuel and don't care. read more

I was quoted a price on September 30, 2022, and was told that EMPIRE FUEL would match the price of competitor but could not make a delivery until October 11, 2022. I spoke with Kristin. would NOT recommend !!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of their trucks SPILLED FUEL OIL all over the road in front of my house -- in JANUARY 2014 {I called them immediatly, & they said because of the snow on the roads, they could not do anything to clean up the oil spill, & that they would return in the spring to clean up the oil spill -- {what crock of bull} Its NOW June 2014 & they haven't done squat to clean it up, because they claim that they NOW CAN'T CLEAN UP THE OIL SPILL BECAUSE IT SOAKED INTO THE GROUND !! & its too late to do anything about it......{what the hell} I contacted the NY DEC, (NYS Spill Hotline (1-800-457-7362) & they said because it was less than 5 gallons spilled, the DEC and the EPA does not have to get involved, & the oil spill does not have to be reported by EMPIRE Fuel co. { WTF!!!!} thanks for the stinky oil spill EMPIRE Fuel !!! read more

I called these people for the first time. The woman whom I spoke to asked me a lot of questions, what my address was, what color was my house, what side the fuel tank was on. I had to give her my debit card number. That was on a Monday. I called them again that Friday to confirm the delivery which was supposed to happen on next week Tuesday. They confirmed it would be Tuesday. I look at my bank account on line on MONDAY NIGHT before the scheduled delivery and see I was charged $200. I was home all day and saw no fuel delivery truck. I go out to the tank, the same amount of fuel that was in the tank Sunday is the same amount I have in it now, Monday night. Either one of two things happened. The Fuel got delivered to another house OR they charged my card to someone else's delivery. SO, as it was too late to call their office and they have no e-mail to contact them, I had to leave a phone message. Hopefully, they'll call me back and not give me a hard time. I didn't get the oil and I'm out $200 bucks. I've gotten of to a very bad start with these people. I hope they make good on their screw up. read more

My husband and I have been using Empire Fuel for 2 years. After waiting a week for our delivery, ON THE DAY OF OUR DELIVERY, we received a phone call stating we would not be getting the delivery WE ALREADY PAID FOR!! When I asked why, and when it would be delivered? The very apologetic woman on the phone told us HER BOSS, AKA, THE OWNER decided they were not servicing our area (Wallkill, NY) anymore. If they're not servicing our area anymore, they had better take off a whole slew of towns that are all in the vicinity of mine to avoid false advertisement!!!!! read more

I have been using this place fore 3 years, when I called to order fuel, I was told it was going to be over a week. Well I ended up running out of fuel. They finally delivered and I then my furnace would not come on. I called, got a response over 4 hours later. They recommended Fanelli's Heating Service which I had used before as well. I called them and set up an appointment. They never never bothered to show up. I will be switching my oil service to someone who actually gives a shit about there customers. read more

I thought it was just me but i guess not. These guys are so rude. Never return calls promptly in an emergency, and act like you are bugging them to use their service. They once called me insisting I didn't pay for an oil delivery. The woman harassed me over the phone and was beyond rude. After I produced my receipt she realized she had called the wrong customer. Less than ZERO rating !!!!!! Had to give one star so that I could post my review !!! I purchased my new home and ordered my first oil delivery. When I arrived home I found a bunch of landscape rocks all over the walkway and in my grass ... my brick wall garden along side my house was toppled over and the bricks left in the walkway and the lattice around the back porch was ripped off.. broken and left on the ground !!! The driver never bothered to try to fix his mess!!!!! I spoke to Gina several times complaining about this and was assured she would speak to the owner and get back to me ... well after NO call backs ...I continued to call and was told they would give .25 cents off per gallon... seriously? When you do the math it's less than $40.00 .. I would NOT recommend these people .. absolutely ridiculous that this is how they treat their customers!! You people seriously need some customer service training and teach your drivers to use care when making deliveries !!! read more

instead of improving their service with me..they canceled my contract, and stated they werent interested in my business. big mistake contracting this mickey mouse company. very happy i reported them to the bbb the day before they canceled my contract. run from your issues, instead of making things better..and during the winter? well...good luck. this was their rude response to me ot was racial, and they slandered my name...we are sorry you feel this way mrs.orozco. and for everyone that continues to read these slanderous accusations made by her, we apologize. mrs.orozco was unhappy with us last year because in the middle of a snow storm we attempted to make a delivery and couldn't get up her driveway, which she only put 2 shovel tracks in the snow where she assumed our truck tires would be. we then gave her a call requesting that the driveway be cleared better. she then proceeded to curse out our office manager and degrade her for not knowing spanish, while also calling her names. our office manager then explained what the driveway looked like and sent her a picture of it. upon receiving the picture, mrs. orozco then called up and apologized for the way it was "shoveled" saying she was unaware that whomever was in charge of it, did in fact do a bad job of clearing the snow.we thought that was the end of it. mrs.orozco apparently wasn't done with her accusations. she then waited a few days, decided she didn't like our pricing, called up and requested we match a competitors price, which we gladly did (we are home of the price match guarantee afterall ;) ) then decided after all of this to take to facebook and bash our company and personally attack the office manager. last night we received a phone call from her claiming she was out of oil, we rushed our trucks there this morning to get to her and guess what...she wasnt out of oil! so she then decided the best way to handle this was to go to the better business bureau and bash us yet again about a false issue that was made up by mrs.orozco. slander is real and a legal isssue. we decided to end our business relationship with mrs. orozco as there is no doing right by her. to our valued customers who continue to stand by us, we appreciate you and will continue to heat your homes while providing quality customer service to all of you. read more

Unfortunately I can not put in less than a 1 rating, but this company sucks. My girlfriend called them the day of delivery and was told that that they could not make a delivery because they could not reach her to get the color of my house or where to put the (home heating) oil. They were told at the time of the appointment that someone would be home. I called them and was told that they could never delivery to my home because my girlfriend yelled at a supervisor name Lena. I called to speak to the owner and was told that owner left and does not have voicemail so I can leave him a message. This is a horrible fuel company and not recommended. Pay the few pennies more per gallon and chose a much better company. read more

These guys have always done right by me! Great prices and the people that work there are very nice. They are very affordable and i'm not sure what these people that left the other reviews are talking about, but I never experienced that. These people shouldn't have waited until they ran out to order oil in the middle of winter... But overall I am very satisfied with this company and would recommend to anyone! Thank You Guys! read more
