Had a leak in baseboard heat and pipe ran under length of hearth of fireplace. "May have to rip-out, jackhammer etc". Signed contract for ~$2000 or so. OK so far. Workers came to do job, noticed cap on hearth was loose; picked it up and leak was right there in elbow. Replaced flex-pipe by pulling it through hearth. Total job 20-30 mins. No other work required. Asked about adjustment to contract. No deal! Workers did good job, owner is arrogant and miserable! read more

I don't totally know what to say. I called to get some info about upgrading my water meter, specifically the pricing. Was told they do not provide estimates. I wasn't even looking for a free estimate, I would pay, I just wanted a rough idea if it would be a hundred dollars or a zillion dollars. Was told, "no way to tell, we work by the hour, every house is different." Surely. But, isn't that accounted for in the estimate - an estimation based on the idea that every house is different? 'Parently not. I would have to have them come out, do the work, then find out what I was on the hook for once there was no turning back. The took four figures from us for their service which did not work ( leak was ofter the service was done), other contractor said this was done wrong, they charged us double price for that faucet, pull dirt on us when tjhemselves making mistakes in calculations and now refused to talk by shouting in abusive way on the phone. this is the worst company ever. The prices of their 'services' are skyrocketing. The contractor was informed upfront over the phone conversation about what we needed to repair faucet. He came and took off for the store to peek up parts he needed. He spent over 2 hours to repair just one faucet and priced us over $400. Gave us his invoice in which he specified the tax added to the bill. In a couple of days he called and harassed us for not paying tax. Who in the whole prof. world spent over 2 hrs and estimates the job for over 400 $ and then making multiple calls to harass? We were week, did not expect him to spend that much time. We should sent him off our property once found out that he will need now to travel for the parts he knew he will need. The guy was super rude, just a mafia attitude. I reported all this to BBB - will se what' s going to happen. Plan to go to court next. Awful. I would do that faucet myself, just want to make sure professional will do it well. read more

I have also been the victim of someone giving a bad review and later found it to be the competition....a very low blow. wanted to think twice before reviewing. they wouldn't give quote for furnace checkup and cleaning. 1st time for that with various services in 30 years. should have taken the hint. to be fair, office and service personnel were polite and professional. work was professional and complete but took longer than ever before. here's my complaint... service took two hours, i can live with that i guess. but the billing was called in and totaled and returned which took 10 minutes which was added to the service call at a 1/2 hour charge. annoying... read more

Be careful if you use these guys they try to rack up hours and before you know it you just spent $900 for a clogged drain. Not very honest at all . Totally 100% took advantage of us. Cleveland Plumbing was clutch - they came through for me between major winter storms (3 days apart) and were able to come out that day to look at my heating system. Heather was very helpful on the phone, she let me know that they could fit me in after another service call, but that the timing was dependent on the previous job (which was completely understandable). She then kept in contact with me to let me know that their service tech was finishing up the previous job, and then that he was on his way. (Even the owner, Scott, emailed me to reassure me they would look into the problem to make sure there wasn't a gas leak.) When Dave (the plumber/tech) came out to the house, he was very thorough and knowledgeable. He immediately diagnosed the issue (my boiler had flooded), and tried to trace the problem to the source (which we believe was a result of 2 days of a brownout followed by a blackout, due to one of this season's major storms). There was another big winter storm in the forecast for the next day, so it was an incredible relief that Cleveland Plumbing was able to come out to my house and diagnose my heating problems. We had an plumbing emergency at my job one day that left us with no working bathroom on a Friday afternoon. Within an hour there were two technicians there to diagnose and fix the problem. The price was more than reasonable especially considering I had called two other places first that were going to charge more and wouldn't have been able to even get there until Monday or Tuesday. They cared about getting our problem fixed and not with the fact that it was the end of the day on Friday. I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

Hyde Park would be best served if Cleveland Plumbing moved to Cleveland Ohio. We got screwed. We needed a pump replacement. We were given the wrong solution, overcharged and re-charged. We ended up paying almost $6,000 for something that should have cost around $2,000 with material that was marked up 300%. The owner has made gouging part of his business profile. Beware!!! Worst company ever!!! Owner sits on the other line & listens to the conversation with you & the receptionist. Then when I told them that my tenant was paying the bill for negligence on their end, the owner started yelling at me & said: " I'm not charging your tenant, you are the homeowner & you are paying for it". The only concern is money. Woman who answers the phone is dismissive and only concerned with the rates, which are very high for this area. Not accommodating in the least. If you want an appointment at 4pm you pay overtime rate $150 per hour. I said I would take my business elsewhere. The initial phone call was enough for me. Would never use them. What follows is my personal opinion based on my experiences with Cleveland Plumbing and Heating. Your experience may vary. This review might be longer than most but bear with me as I need to cover all the points. In December 2015, I was having water coming back through my washing machine drain pipe. I called Cleveland Plumbing and Heating (ClevelandPandH) to take a look and they came on Dec 15. The tech thought that the backup was being caused by something outside the house. He opened up the access cover to the inlet pipe going into the septic tank and saw that it was under water. His diagnosis: a failed/failing leach field. His recommendation: leach field replacement. I then asked him to uncover the outlet pipe. It seemed premature to me to conclude that the leach field had failed just because the inlet pipe was under water. The tech suggested to have the tank pumped to give the leach field time to dry out and some breathing room to decide when to do the leach field replacement. Tech left. Tank was pumped the same day. Few days later got a proposal for $8900 from ClevelandPandH for a new leach field. I called a septic contractor to take a second look. They ran a camera through the outlet pipe leaving the tank and found tree roots in the pipe. The tree roots were removed and water is flowing again. At this point I was pretty much done with ClevelandPandH, but I thought to myself maybe septic systems aren't their expertise, after all they're not a dedicated septic contractor. So I was willing to give them the ignorance excuse on septic systems. So in Jan 2016 when I needed to replace 2 toilets, I decided to give them a call on Jan 29 for an estimate. Before I got to talking about the toilets, I decided to speak with the owner (or one of the owners) about their prior septic diagnosis. Basically to let him know what had happened and to be more thorough in the future about their diagnosis. I didn't call to make a fuss; I thought I was helping him with some valuable feedback. The guy immediately started arguing with me. Making the case that his tech diagnosed the problem the best he could at the time given that the pipes were filled with water. That doesn't seem logical to me. I said well, the tech could've said that he cannot properly diagnose the problem because the pipes are under water. How about that? Then he's berading me for calling someone else to diagnose the problem after the tank was pumped out saying why didn't I give them the opportunity to come back once the tank was pumped. This again doesn't seem logical to me. His tech is the one who suggested to get the tank pumped out but not to come back and give a better diagnosis but rather to allow the leach field time to dry out. Further, they're supposed to be the experts but yet I, a lay person, am the one who is supposed to know to call them back to fully diagnose a problem. He then makes the argument that when they would come to replace the leach field if they saw the roots they wouldn't go ahead. This again doesn't seem logical to me. First, by that point I would expect there to be large numbers of men, materials, and equipment at my yard. Then, I wouldn't expect them to gently dig up individual parts of the existing system to prevent damage as you would when you're diagnosing a problem. I would expect them to use a backhoe or some such machine. So I don't know how they would've found it at that time as the roots are inside the pipe, hidden from view. You can only find them if you're looking for them. So that's my experience. Draw your own conclusions. read more
