His quote was consistent with most of the other highly rated folk we reached out to for quotes. What set him apart was his clear emails with detailed pricing. It was clear that he knew painting was expensive, and people imagine doing everything at once and think of it as all-or-nothing. His pricing model showed it was some-at-a-time. (We did go all in though :) ) He was very responsive on email and answered questions from the mundane to the esoteric with patience and clarity. He came the day before the job was supposed to start to drop off supplies and map out everything that was should happen with me and his team. His team was great, polite, and professional. Since the building is both commercial and residiential, one of the biggest concerns was minimizing disruption to tenants, and of course keeping everything on budget and organized. From the start, Royal Renovators seemed to understand these concerns and put together a plan that worked around the building's daily operations. The existing roof was removed, damaged areas were addressed/fized, and a new roofing system was installed along with snazzy updated flashing and drainage improvements. Communication throughout the project was - chefs kiss - and we always knew what stage things were in. As expected, there were additional conditions unconvered that needed to be addressed. But, these guys were transparent about it, laid out the options like they did before, and it didnt turn into pressure or surprises. What stood out was how transparent they were when additional conditions were uncovered. Every decision was discussed beforehand and documented with photos. In the end, the new roof was completed on time, and is performing exactly as expected.
