Stumbled across the Empire Outlets as we exited the Staten Island Ferry. The oulets are pretty empty with many vacant stores and others running Going Out Of Business Sales. The views on the other hand are wonderful. The EO logo frames the view of NYC so beautifully. Nice to take a seat and enjoy a sunny day. Found a cute shirt and a nice dress for travel in the sale section at Banana Republic. Got some bathing suits at a store that was going out of business. After shopping, pay your respects at the Staten Island September 11th Memorial. Postcards honors and remembers the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks and the 1993 World Trade Center bombings. Look through the wings of the giant sculpture. It frames Ground Zero. Never forget. read more

Their customer service is always accommodating, helpful and friendly. The line moves fast and they usually have a great deal going, 40-50% off. This store is always well put and clean. I would go there often to shop and walk around. Grab a snack at the pretzel place or one of the food trucks (yum) or get a drink at Starbucks. If it is warm out there is Haagen-Daz ice cream. I would give Empire Outlets 5 stars if some of the stores would come back. I'm totally missing The Rack. I do recommend the Empire Outlets to at least enjoy the view! It is a good place to take pictures with the city background. Maybe if more people would visit then the stores and restaurants would return. read more

Stumbled upon these outlets as I was in the area looking for an H&M. I usually go to the one in the mall but my GPS routed me to Empire Outlets which I didn't know existed! They have a parking garage which I paid $5 for up to 3 hours. The mall is outdoors which I love. There were a bunch of signs directing you where to go since it could get confusing without them. While finding my way to H&M, I saw a bunch of stores (Nike, Gap, Banana Republic) , food spots (Kung Fu Tea, Haagen Dazs, Nathans), etc. They also have outdoor seating overlooking the water which is cool. I don't have much to review since I was just returning an item but I'll definitely be back to check out what else they have in the area! read more

I've come to this "Outlet" twice in the last three days. I went to Nike and made a purchase, but they left the sensor on, so I had to return today. Since we came late on Friday evening when all the stores were closing (all but Nordstrom Rack; they close at 9PM, but the other stores close at 8) I decided to actually venture around, I wasn't pleased with what I saw and found. I went to Nike, Banana, Gap and Nordstrom Rack. The Nike was fine, Nordstrom wasn't too bad, I was able to find a pair of training shorts here, at a better place than the Nike store. Banana was an absolute waste of time-for the life of me, I couldn't understand why a store in Mid June would have sweatpants and sweaters all around the store and so many empty shelves. I went into the Gap to browse for close for my daughter, but was Informed they didn't match the online price, so I left empty handed. All and all, I left this place very disappointed. It's conveniently located to the Ferry, so maybe they are banking on a lot of tourists foot traffic, but it's not worth the visit. Save your time and effort. My sole regret was I'm on a diet and couldn't eat Shake Shack for lunch! read more

A very underrated and under-visited gem. I came here after work with some time to kill and I was very glad I did! Empire Outlets was well-decorated with Christmas lights and trees all over the venue. The first thing that caught my eyes while walking towards the outlet was the pretty holiday decorations all over. There is even a large fountain with a giant Christmas tree decoration at the center with several more decorations in surrounding (pictures attached). In this outlet, there are 4 levels/floors containing restaurants (Wasabi Japanese steakhouse, Nori Sushi Shop, Clinton Hall), bubble tea/dessert shops (Bake Culture, Kung Fu Tea, Häagen Dazs), fast food shops (Shake Shack, Starbucks), and many clothing stores (Nike Factory Shop, Guess, Levi's, Columbia, Banana Republic, etc.). I have visited a few of the clothing stores, and have gotten bubble tea from Bake Culture several times and I was very impressed. You can also see a view of Manhattan skyline. Besides all of this, there is also lots of music playing all day from the venue's speakers/radio. Next time, I hope to buy some pastries from Bake Culture, try out the Wasabi steakhouse, and buy some Kung Fu Tea! I am giving this a 4 out of 5 stars because there is definitely some room to improve (in terms of variety). There are so many clothing shops (at least 10), but not as many places to dine in comparison (opening a Japanese steakhouse, Sushi spot, and Clinton Hall for craft beers and burgers is an awesome start, however). The 4th level has plenty of open space and could easily become 5 stars if they added some more restaurants there. Would be great if they also opened up a Uniqlo here. Highly recommend read more

I stopped at a lot of cool stores-- I love the trinket stores, and I stopped at Hagen Dazs and it was delicious. Also, they have beautiful flowers and a big "EO" covered in them which is so cool! What do you expect from NYC other than to get nickled and dimed? Parking here of course costs money even though you're literally going to shop and presumably spend quite a bit depending on where. I went to Nordstrom and purchased which I thought would give me validation. It did, but when I went to check out of the lot still got charged the full amount. The attendant was not helpful at all and said that I just had to put my credit card and pay the full amount. Never again empire...they should call it the evil empire outlets. Happened to be in Staten Island so decided to swing by and check it out. It looks promising but is still lacking in stores. I had heard about it opening recently and my first impression from the parking garage is that it had only opened a few weeks ago. There's incredibly poor signage in the garage, with much of it just paper print outs tacked to the wall. One of the elevators (not in service) still had its doors wrapped in plastic. You're currently limited to a single elevator to get up to the various levels of the mall itself, which is problematic if you really require an elevator. As a result when I asked one of the employees in Nordstrom Rack, I was surprised to hear it had been open since July. Shake Shack must've just moved in as it was still closed for training and not open to the public. The only food option available was a single food truck parked on the street taking advantage of the fact no other food options in the mall were available. It was 5pm on a Sunday, so take that for what it's worth. It was unclear if restaurants were actually just closed, or if it was just placeholder signage in a dark empty store front. I did end up finding something in Nordstrom which got our parking validated and free, but it seems like that might just be a seasonal thing that won't be permanent once the mall really gets going. As it currently stands, there's really no motivation to make the trek here if you're not already on Staten Island. read more

On a whim, I decided to stop by here over the weekend, knowing that only a third of the stores were open but the views were nice. I used to be in this area enough to know that there's some unsavory characters right outside the ferry. That hasn't changed, so be alert and be aware. There's numerous exits to get out of the ferry area, just keep right and you'll eventually see the outlets. There were maybe a handful of stores open. There were no food places that were open here, only a mini cart that sold dessert crepes. Whoever thought it was a good idea to open this outlet when there was barely anything open, was out of their mind. Also, it shows it was rushed if you looked at the uneven floors, the stairs. The workers roaming around to answer questions were incredibly nice, but even they didn't know when certain stores would be open as the dates kept being pushed back. This Nike factory outlet has the most amount of inexpensive sneakers, but the styles didn't deserve another look from me. Maybe the only bathroom that is available, is located behind the central stairs inside a set of doors that is under construction. If you're a woman, do not go alone because there's another set of doors inside there, that isn't locked and this space is not patrolled. read more

Overpriced, poorly designed and inconvenient. This high end, designer, open air mall will do nothing to serve early morning commuters from Staten Island; as the stores open at 10AM. Parking isn't free, so shopping for one too many items will be a task as the local public transportation options are the SIRR, the ferry and a poorly managed & often overcrowded bus system. The whole concept is clearly an attempt at stimulating gentrification, pushing locals out of the area and driving up prices for coveted NYC waterfront property. It also gives tourists a sterile option when visiting the island, as it lacks any Staten Island culture. Perhaps the nearby affordable housing proposals will curb this onslaught of development to accommodate the long-time residents of St. George, but only time will tell. read more

The location itself is actually perfect. Maybe a one minute walk from the Staten Island Ferry terminal, and has an absolutely beautiful view of the Manhattan Skyline. As you walk in, you're greeted by a Starbucks and a few dessert places (ice cream, waffles, etc) as well as a pretty beautifully designed seating area. In fact, the one thing that is really apparent is that a lot of thought went into the design of the area. That being said, it just feels like as of July, the outlets just weren't ready to be opened. The outlets had an opening event almost two months ago now, and it appears that a lot of the storefronts have either yet to be opened or yet to have a tenant move in. Either that, or the design of the building is a bit too big and gives off the impression that there is more space that needs to be filled by shops or restaurants. A few shops have begun to open up after the opening event, and I'll be happy to return once the outlets are in full operation. Otherwise, the best outlets in the region are definitely at Woodbury commons in Jersey. read more

I will preface this review by saying, malls and outlet shopping really aren't my thing. I came to support the re-opening of NYC during the Spring of 2021 and to check the space out, since it originally opened. Nordstrom rack would prob be my go-to store, because they seemed to have a nice selection of "discontinued or discounted" items. Other than that, many people walking around seemed to have NIKE bags, so I'm sure that is popular. Other than that, there was not a ton of foot traffic on this random Thursday but the weather was nice. The could probably do a little better with the maps and directions, because I walked around the entire place before finding the "Shake shack" tucked in the corner near the street. I really liked the bench area near the water, which is also near the Starbucks and a couple other small stores. That's where people seemed to be hanging out and with their small kids. Nice size Walgreen's in that area too, which is probably a reasonable spot to get some inexpensive snacks. I'll probably come back after Covid is finally vanquished for good and a few more retailers are established. I'm hopeful but I still have a wait and see attitude if this will actually work. read more

Empire Outlets is a rather nice, modern outlet mall right by the Staten Island Ferry station serving Staten Island, NY - it is over multiple floors accessed by a slightly hidden lift in a Car Park, and while it could be laid out better (I was looking for certain streets which include or just are off the mall with no staff members having a clue how to get there) it is pretty decent. They did have some nice stores here including a nice Starbucks store, which I feel was slightly overkill around the mall in terms of advertising but still, it remained a nice, modern store with views of the Manhattan skyline. Many of the stores here as suggested by the name are Outlet store although there is a Walgreens convenience style store and pharmacy to go alongside brands that include Banana Republic, GAP, Levi's and H&M, it is quite a new mall so the selection is only going to improve (hopefully) as more of the units get filled but for now it is a pretty decent place to spend some time with a nice view as long as the weather is good due to limited shelter before getting the ferry into Manhattan. 3* read more

This outdoor outlet reminds me of the massive malls in California albeit on a much much smaller scale. It's a nice concept, and they have curated some good stores from what I've seen so far. We did some shopping at the Columbia sports store, and the Banana Factory Store was probably the most busy of all the stores they have open right now, which isn't that many. Someone estimated they are about 1/3 open, which seemed about right. They probably opened prematurely because of the lack of stores that are functional right now, and I don't think they have a dedicated food court, which should have been a priority. Everyone likes to grab a bite before, while, or after shopping. Except for the Starbucks and the Pretzels place, food options were scant. The parking garage is on site, and the rates are fair. We stayed under 3 hours, and it was a reasonable $5.00. We drove from Queens and it wasn't too difficult to get there, the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge was relatively light on traffic, and the outlet itself did not have too many shoppers on an early Saturday afternoon, but it wasn't an empty no-man's land either. Those tulip chairs they have around the plaza are so adorable and stylish, but I wonder in the extremely hot summer months and cold winter months, what shopping at this open mall will be like since it's purely outdoors. I'm guessing not the best. The ferry appears to be a stone's throw away, and being by the water gives you a nice view of the city. All said and done, I'd definitely consider coming back because of its manageable size, and the toll not being too outrageous of a cost. I would just encourage them to get the food court rolling, or whatever eateries they have, to quickly open before all the other retail stores debut. Also, they can probably do without the live DJ. I'd much rather hear soft listening, elevator music wafting through the air versus loud, bombastic music which is a lot less sophisticated and just obnoxious and noisy, really. Overall, it was a nice experience, and I see that there is a lot of potential for Empire Outlets to be an enjoyable shopping destination. P.S. - I didn't see too many ratchet people as some of the other reviewers mentioned, but of course that would ruin the experience. read more

Even though here they are buying the ugliest of the third rate runoff's that were made in China and are now being sold at 40% off even though they are anywhere else quasi-worthless. What a waste of space. The outdoor seating is the only reason it gets 2 stars. Don't shop here. Go to the staten Island mall or 34th street in Manhattan for the actual drip. Recently opened shopping outlet in the St. George neighborhood in Staten Island. I'd highly recommend taking the ferry over from Manhattan if you can, since it is easily accessible. Otherwise, you're going to have to park locally or pay $8 to park in their private parking lot. Overall, there was nothing much to see...yet. A majority of the stores aren't even open yet. The shopping outlet is entirely outdoors and reminds me of the outlets in Orlando or the outskirts of L.A. There are great views of the southern tip of Manhattan if you know where to stand. As for dining options, there aren't many. Theres your typical Wetzel's Pretzels and Starbucks. A Shake Shack is in the process of opening on the street level. The most busy store I've encountered was Nike. I wasn't overly impressed with my first visit here. Maybe I'll come back when 100% of the stores are open. read more

There is a lot of potential with this mall. Right now there aren't as many stores, but a lot of big names are there. When the mall is fully occupied and has a functioning food court it'll be one of the nicest outlet centers. The buildings look very nice, a very instagram worthy location. It's nice being right on the water and sitting on the many chairs watching the ferry. Not the nicest surrounding neighborhood but that doesn't take away from the mall experience. You have to pay to park at the garage but it's a nice garage with nice attendants. A good experience for sure. read more

This mall is _not_, despite the ads, fit for human habitation yet. Loud rap music is being blared from the Nordstrom, and most of the men's rooms on the map do not actually exist. I did find one, which had some plumbing which sort of worked, but there was no door yet. The impression I got from disgruntled female customers was that their situation was even worse. read more

As this outlet was opening the pandemic hit and the customers and tourist buyers dried up. As I walk down there now I see that they are working in many of the shops and Im hoping more open. The center itself is well kept and the view of the city is awesome. As more food options become available I believe it will become more popular and Im excited about that. read more

Empire Outlets is an amazing edition to this Staten Island and NYC. Unlike other shopping malls, this is shopping center has a nice collection (about 100 shops and restaurants when done!), contemporary design and will soon have an amazing food hall. So have patience people. Yes, it's partially under construction but when finished, it'll be amazing. No other shopping center has such incredible views of the city like this and it's close to Snug Harbor, St. George Theater and a number of other local attractions many have never experienced. And the ferry is free from Manhattan! I like it. I bet you will too. read more

Empire Strikes Out! Holy Smokes - who designed this place? Strike One - Got off the Staten Island Ferry and instead of just walking over to the outlets, had to walk down flights of stairs, cross twenty feet, and walk up flights of stairs to the main, mostly vacant, selling areas. Strike Two - it started to pour as we huffed and puffed up the stairs. Wait a minute raining inside a mall-like shopping area? Yeap! The designer who forgot to put a walkway from the ferry, forgot to put a roof up! We were soaked before we got inside the first outlet. Strike Three - went to buy a new suit - walked into an empty Brooks Brothers took one look at the "Outlet Prices" walked back into the downpour, down the stairs, up the stairs and got on the Ferry - never to return again! read more
