On June 11, 2026, Empire Today installed carpet in three rooms and laminate flooring in a hallway in my home. I did not sign off on the installation because the stair carpeting was not completed properly. The carpet on the stairs does not adequately cover the width of the steps, leaving the sides exposed and unfinished in appearance. There are also exposed nails on the stairs, creating both a safety concern and an unacceptable finish. In addition, there is no transition piece at the bottom of the stairs where the carpet meets the lower floor, leaving an unsightly gap. At the top of the stairs, quarter-round molding was installed over the transition area, which has created another visible gap. I was also disappointed with the installers' handling of my property. Although I specifically requested that protective material be placed under their workboxes, none was used. They also placed a silk ottoman outside without any protection underneath it. Throughout the installation, they appeared to show little care for my furnishings and home. Additionally, the salesperson, Aaron, stated that the installation team would be able to address squeaky floors as part of the project. No attention was given to this issue during the installation. I eventually spoke with the installation manager, Carlos, who stated that someone would be scheduled to return and correct the stair installation issues. Got us great carpeting for a fair price. More than that, the workers moved a bunch of our heavy furniture and didn't charge us and they also worked around a custom made reinforcement that my mother had made for the clothes rods in the closests. I thought I was going to have to tear them down myself. And unlike Lowes and Home Depot, Empire didn't want to charge me 2K just to move my furniture. That was the first room she measured and didn't include it, how idiotic! Anyway the second they gave us the price with the living room added was outrageous and so we sent them on their way and cancelled. Initially I had them pre-approve me on store credit just in the event I wanted to go that route. Apparently someone there saw my open credit line, called me to find out what happened and I explained it. He tried to work it out by coming down on the price and I declined. Finally he came down enough to where I decided to let them do it. The carpet was descent but the flooring was soft vinyl flooring, I thought it would be the hardwood stuff, for the price I paid it should have been hardwood, but it wasn't, that was disappointing. They laid down the flooring and it appeared to look fine. I did notice that they missed the floor trim on two doorways. I called later to ask should it have been included and the phone rep said yes. They were suppose to send someone back out. They called on the day they were suppose to come out to post pone it,, then called again and said I'd have to pay a service call and I'm like I have a warranty! It became too aggravating dealing with them and I said never mind. I found that they are way over priced and that there are so many others in the area I could have gotten this same value for half the price. This company is terrible. We have had so many issues throughout our installation process. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Manager waited a week to address my complained and only called when I held up the payment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] According to company policy, she should have called within 24 hours. They do not fulfill what is stated in their contract. My toilet is in my bathroom tub as we speak because they refused to reinstall it as per my contract. They said due to unforeseen circumstances they don't have to meet the contractual obligation of reinstalling my toilet. Then I was told this is a common problem. If it's a common problem, how can it also be unforeseen? If it commonly happened, you should have foreseen the problem before installation. All they could say was sorry, here is $100 to get a plumber to do it. The plumber charges $90 to just come out. That doesn't cover the work you were contractually obligated to fulfill. If I could give ZERO stars, I would! This company is an absolute joke! The materials are subpar, the installers are clueless and lazy, and the customer service is abhorrent! I had carpeting and luxury vinyl installed less than 2 years ago, and it already looks HORRIBLE! I have an extended service plan that is supposed to cover repairs, but they always deny my claims! A "Premium" vinyl I purchased has a warped or bubbling defect, and when I tried to file a claim, [[HIGHLIGHT]]Kimberlin Kasey, one of their customer service associates asked me to email pictures of the area. The padding they offer sounds great, but when installed is not much padding at all. Any little scratch or dent you have in your flooring (Vinyl) one day after their so called warranty runs out they will automatically deny. I say so called warranty because if you don't what the cause is (and most don't it's just an accident that gets noticed) the company will automatically deny the claim. It seems the warranty is just all talk in this case. Will never have them install anything else in my home and would not recommend to anyone else either. After paying a 50% deposit I had been waiting almost one week for an install. They brought the wrong flooring, so I had to reschedule. The truck broke down, so I had to reschedule. They never showed up on scheduled day after giving me a 8a-6p window of arrival, so I jad to reschedule. Customer service Spv Jessica showed no empathy after I stayed at home ALL day waiting for an install that never happened. I called the 1-800 number five times starting at 0830a. I was told my materials were loaded on the truck and various other stories. I asked to speak to a Spv, but the call tech switched me to one of her peers Latoya, but she was honest enough to say she wasn't a Spv when I asked her if she was one. There was a hidden water leak causing the damage. Santos Renovations pulled up the tiles, dried the subfloor within two days and were able to complete the job! Bravo! read more

Sales In July 2023, Sales Rep negotiated contract with my husband and I contingent upon that fact that we scheduled installation within 1 week. We signed contract and agreed to conditions. We packed up our entire house in preparation. The day before the installation we learned that salesman forgot to tell us that Empire did not have product/inventory to actually conduct an installation. An Empire scheduling assistant noticed the inventory discrepancy and called us. We never heard from the Salesman again not even to offer an apology for the delay. Scheduling For the next 6-8 weeks, we lived in a house, sleeping on an air mattress, due to everything being packed up awaiting installation of our new hardwood floors. Every two weeks, Empire provided a new install date and then the day before the scheduled install promptly rescheduled due to lack of product/inventory. Installation 6-8 weeks after we entered into a flooring contract with Empire, the install crew came out to do the install of our new hardwood floors. Team came out and ripped up carpet and ceramic tile and exposed the sub-floors. It was discovered that some of the rooms had uneven flooring. Install crew refused to do any type of installation (even on level floors) in the house until problem areas were addressed. We were told that we needed to contact a third party on our own, have floors fixed then reschedule installation with Empire. Empire refused to even start the work on the level floors due to "flow" and needing problem areas addressed. For another 6 weeks, my husband I lived in a house with dusty sub floors exposed again sleeping on an air mattress until we could get floors fixed and get on Empire install schedule. During installation, our home security system alarm sensors were damaged (front door; garage door) and the glass on our china cabinet mysteriously broke. We had to install new alarm system ($1700); and have glass in china cabinet repaired ($60). Manager (Chris P.) who was supposedly handling installation was rude and had no interest in meeting with us to helping address our issues. He preferred to stay in his office. He was unapologetic and had no interest in finding a day on his calendar to meet with us to review issues and move install forward. We were pleased with the work of the install crew who actually did the work on site. Administrative staff at Empire made a mistake and in their systems completed the install and generated billing before the install actually occurred. So each time we had to explain that we had not yet had any flooring installed on top of everything else. There was no one contact at Empire who hung in there through the entire process, each time we called Empire we had to speak to someone new and explain all the problems and delays that we encountered. We asked for compensation and concessions for the excessive problems we encountered with Empire and we were told that tickets would be opened but again no follow up and not decisioning. Needless to say, we have had a horrific experience with Empire starting back in July and ending in October. read more

Empire did an amazing job from the sales to the completion of my product. The appointment was made online and they were available the next day with no hiccups. He arrived before the time which was great and shared with me his thoughts on what would work in my situations. Once I was satisfied with the price and the product he told me they could install with in a day. That's outstanding! After my appt Monday I decided to install on saturday. The coordinator called the day before my appt letting me know that everything is set for your installation. On the day of the appt the guys called and told me they were 30 minutes away. Upon arrival we went through my home and they confirmed installation. He then showed me the product to be sure this is what was agreed upon. After confirmation, he took payment which IMHO was the longest part of the process. Upon payment they got right to work. It took from 10-5 to install my floors and I could not have been happier. The installer did not call until hours after he was supposed to show, and, when I called Empire, they offered to reschedule for two weeks later. Nope - cancelled. I understand things happen and sometimes they don't work as planned. That's understandable. What is not cool is keeping it to yourself and not keeping the client informed. WORST COMPANY TO DO BUSINESS WITH. WORST COSTUMER SERVICE/ASSISTANCE. If you are looking for a sign wether or not to do business with this company, this is it. Don't even consider this company!!!!! I hired them to do my flooring and used vacation days to have them come install. They called the day before to say they didnt have the materials for the job and it was too late for me to change my plans. On May18th, they scheduled the installation for June 1st so they had two weeks to give us a notice but decide to do it last minute. I called costumer service to fix the issue due to the poor communication but unfortunately they were not willing to work with us. We were told that there was nothing they can do because in their "contract" they're allowed to have mishaps. Proceeded to say we would not get any deposit that we put down refunded so even if we canceled, we would lose the money bc theres only a "3 day window". On top of that they didnt even want to give a discount for the inconvenience they caused and weren't willing to work with us on at least guaranteeing a time frame for the workers to come install considering I work 2nd shift and am only available in the morning. We then had to reschedule since there weren't any options left considering they gave us little to NOTHING to work with so that means this company is allowed to treat customers poorly and get away with it bc in their "contract" its allowed. Buyer Beware! I wish I had come here and read reviews before we did business with Empire. I don't know that I have ever dealt with such an unprofessional company. This is what happened to us. It is your typical story: girl has flooded house, girl needs to have flooring replaced, girl reaches out to Empire Today, who installed the rest of the flooring in her basement, girl believes she is in good hands. GIRL WAS NOT. The salesman who came out to take our measurements was very no-nonsense. The rest of our basement flooring was done by Empire, and we wanted this last part to match. He took a look at our flooring, told us under no uncertain terms that he knew exactly what it was (plot twist, it wasn't), asked us to pick a date and sent us a contract. We told him that we had a box of unopened tiles leftover from their previous install, and asked if he wanted to see them to make sure it was a match? He insisted that 1) they couldn't use these leftover tiles (even from their own company, which feels like price gouging) and 2) he could see our record from our previous purchase and knew exactly what we had. We had a torn apart basement (the flood was in the kitchen), so we agreed. This guy obviously knew what he was talking about. A few days later the installers arrived. We were so relieved because once the flooring was in, we could put the kitchen back together. My husband met with the installers and they showed him a tile. My husband asked them if it was the same tile, and they said it was. So they moved forward with the install. Flash forward a few hours later, they are completing the job. We walk downstairs, and it was clearly not the same tile. My husband questions the installer who tells us that he thought we were talking about it being luxury vinyl tile, and not that we were asking if it was the same color. This is very upsetting since the rest of the basement is a different color, but they did their job. We had no choice but to sign off that the job was done. We did express our concern that the tile was wrong, and they told us that it wasn't their problem. We needed to contact the company Empire directly. So we contact Empire immediately. The customer service rep opened a ticket for us and said we would hear back within two days. You are never going to believe this. Two days passed and nothing. So we called again. The second time we called, the customer service agent was able to get us in touch with the salesman who sold us the wrong tile that he was sure was the right tile. He said this had never happened before, so he would need to talk to his management and get back to us. He promised that we would hear back from him the next day with a resolution. That was the last time we ever heard from him. So we called back a third time and spoke to customer service (who has been lovely the entire time, by the way) and they looked at the notes, saw we were never contacted and opened an escalated ticket for us. They promised us we would hear back within 24 hours. We didn't. Two days later (which at this point is completely unacceptable because we are clearly being blown off) we heard from someone. She asked us questions and we gave her all of the facts. She said she would need to reach out to the original salesperson and we would hear back today. If you are reading this far, I am sure you know what happened next. Absolutely nothing! So here we are with a torn apart kitchen, with tile that a salesman thought was the right tile but clearly wasn't. He will not call us back and be honest with us about the mistake (we get it mistakes happen, please take ownership). Most importantly, Empire has done nothing to try to make this right. There are more details here that I haven't written out, but if a company representative with any kind of authority was to call us to discuss the situation, we would be happy to share. I've removed names of both parties (except my own) to protect those individuals. Customer NO Service Rep: Attached is the repair estimate from a certified plumber at Reliable, but you should know that our experience w/ Empire Today hasn't been a good one. June 21 - Carpet & LVT gets installed.  Installers were very nice. June 22 - Turn on water line for ice maker & water sprays every where.  It even gets under the new floor. I do my best to sop up the mess, but I'm concerned about the new floor.  Upon a closer look at the water line, I see a nick in the line. It's a very thin slice, like a blade hit it.  I suspect that one of the installers accidentally hit it when they were using the tool that has a blade on the end of it for taking up old flooring.  That same day my wife emailed Empire about the issue. June 24 - Wife calls Empire to speak about damaged line.  She was told that she would receive a call back w/in 24 working hours (Ticket # 1-3936643131). June 25 - Empire calls & says for us to get an estimate from a certified plumber & email in the quote.  That same day she calls Reliable & gets an appointment for the next day. June 26 - Plumber arrives & also sees the knife like cut in the line. He's unable to say how it happened since he wasn't present.  He emails quote to me, which we forward on to Empire. June 27 - Wife calls to find out status of our repair.  A customer service representative says they left a message w/ you about our claim. June 28 - Wife calls Empire again & was told by a representative that they left a message w/ you & to have you call wife back.  You call her back & leave her a message stating that you never received the quote.  Wife was told that you would email us so that we could reply directly to your email w/ the quote attached. However, we never received your email.  So wife calls customer service again & they gave her your direct email. Please understand our refrigerator has been slid out this whole time to minimize sliding it back & forth & possibly cause more damage.  This has been a major inconvenience for us.  We're pleased w/ our floors, but It's been very frustrating trying to get this resolved. We have already stated in the proposal, the plumber is not able to say definitively what caused the cut in the line because he was not present at the time. Elementary evidence clearly indicates the line was most likely cut by the bladed tool used to tear up old flooring. The bottom line is so simple. Ice maker water line worked fine before the installers came. Ice maker water line doesn't work after installers left. We have had chaos in our kitchen for 11 days now.  Isn't it your responsibility, as a customer service representative, to take care of the customer? This back and forth is tiring. This "customer is always guilty" attitude that Empire has toward us has gone on long enough. Would like to make an update to my last review of Empire. I am pleased to say that I was called almost immediately after posting my review and had a very nice woman. She apologized for the misunderstanding about the service agreement and advised they would refund the cost, which they have. She also explained that the flooring was ordered by sq ft and not by the box and sometimes there was some left over. I appreciated so much Empire coming back to me and making the promises they make good. Thank you Empire!! read more

Loyalty means nothing to this company. I feel I have been scammed. I have used them for every room in my house and when I inquire about repair of my flooring that is separating, no help is to be offered. After several emails with customer service they only offer me an opportunity to spend more money even though it's obvious that the product is no good to start. My floors have separated even more throughout my kitchen and I'm left to replace my floors again within a 2 year span. Im upset and highly disappointed. read more

The one thing I do not like is companies that don't keep their appointments and don't even apologize for it. It's amazing that they callEd me THREE times to confirm the appointment and then they don't even show up! I'm ready to go. I wanted to make a deal today. If I can't rely on them to even show up and sell me flooring, how reliable are they going to be about installing it? Home improvement cost serious money and letting people do something in your house that can't be undone requires a great deal of trust. My instinct tell me to stay away from Empire. read more

Just listen to the reviews before using this company! Aparently we didnt and regret it now. We had carpet installed in 4 rooms, stairs and a hallway. And vinyl in the bathroom The installers skuffed up our walls, chipped paint, cut molden and replaced it unpainted, removed a toliet and put back with bigger screws that caps didnt fit and left it, And scuffed up our furniture chips and scratches all over it! Speaking with their manager, he said send pictures and he would get back with us as he did and literally offered us $100! We were like you're $100 would not replace the furniture nor have it fixed or have someone come in and paint our walls. The Sales lady said oh they'll be in and out of here in just a few hours it literally took them 12 hours! I had used Empire about 15 years ago and while they were slightly higher in price, but the sales experience was very good and so was the installation.  I was happy with their service.  Now I live in the same 1200 so ft manufactured home and so this current experience with Empire was actually really strange.   So, I set up the quote online stating I lived in a manufactured home and was a previous customer and that I was interested in vinyl flooring. The salesperson measured and then said the retail price would be over 26,000 dollars. Yes, that is correct twenty-six thousand dollars for less than 1200 sq ft of floor. The 75% off price would be over 12,000 dollars. I waited a moment for him to say, "Oh wait, that has to be incorrect". He didn't.  He was absolutely totally rude when I declined the offer.  The most offensive thing he said was "If you are going to quote with (that other nation flooring company) they will quote you the same thing. I worked for them from (some time frame I can't remember). They do the same thing" The next day a nice lady called to see what she could do about the quote but after I told her my experience, she never did offer a reasonable price to acquire my business. So, note to EVERYONE. 21.00 per sq ft for medium grade vinyl plank flooring is Not Normal even in these times.  Empire should really be ashamed of themselves.  Please Beware and do research. Do NOT recommend. the people who they had come to our house were TERRIBLE. they said they wouldn't disinstall and reisntall our bed or fridge when it was in the contract. They broke MANY stuff of ours including the window and our screens and a part of our floor and on top of it lied about it when we asked, but once we got mad then they admitted to it. They were supposed to come back today because they only got 2 rooms and a hallway done and they called this morning and called my mother a karen and then stated they wouldn't come back. read more

install issues and cant get anyone from management to remedy and finish my flooring as agreed to! Would not disconnect fridge or stove said not in job description or to disassemble beds had to hire plumber to remove vanities and remove new toilets from boxes and assemble! Paint issues holes all in molding! All day only 3 bedrooms and hall completed! Cracked a hole in my bedroom window and called me a liar and said was there before yet no pictures or proof of before! Removed a screen from my son's window and threw in my laundry room told me it wasn't them at first then finally put back! Had wife and son show up ordered food to my home with no heads up! My home is half ripped up and I have missed two days of work and no one from management has bothered to call or remedy issue! 1:00pm and not even a call and half my home ripped up and no one to even come out and fix the issue!!!!!! Please do not hire these folks. The consultant who came to my home lied to me about the installation and the end result. I specifically asked that "humps" not be installed to transition from room to room. I was promised there would be no "humps". Well now I have 4. A visitor to my home tripped over it twice.
