The floor looks decent when it's first installed, but scratches very easy, and starts coming up within a few years. When you call customer service, they say they'll help at first, but keep giving excuses,questionnaires, until they finally say the product is out of warranty and they won't do anything (and that's after emailing them multiple times with them saying they will get right back to me). I had floors installed throughout my whole house barely a year ago before it starts buckling at around the 13th month mark. I contact them and they ask if I have pets, what do I use to clean the floors, how often I clean the floors, and if there's been a water leak. I've done my due diligence in caring for the flooring the way I'm suppose to; after sending pictures to them upon request (they also asked how many are affected), they blamed the buckling on site damage (meaning my doing), instead of poor workmanship. Now they want me to pay them more money to come inspect, and even more to repair. This project was extremely expensive just for them to only have a one year warranty to say the least. Then they blow me off like it's my doing. The buckling is not even noticeable on the pics, so their determination couldn't be further off. read more

Had luxury vinyl flooring put in our home in April of 2022 had some medical problems come up shortly afterwards notice a gap of about a quarter inch on 4 planks called to have it taken care of and they said it was an installation problem but since it was past a year they would charge us $200.00to come out and correct the problem after we spent over 12000 dollars to have it installed correctly, was treated rudely by customer service. Had the floors done in July and this is my late mothers house that recently and unexpectedly passed away. The "crew" they sent in here didn't install anything correctly some of the previous flooring is still exposed, threshold to doors is coming up and has white glue all over it, a lot of floor panels do not touch the wall, they left stickers on some of the flooring, they did not clean up after themselves and helped themselves to my drinks without asking. We had a sales rep come out and show us samples. The floor we picked was installed and the workers did a great Job on the floor installation. We had our kitchen floor redone along with our half bath, laundry room, small hallway. During the installation, all of our appliances in these rooms were moved by the workers. The workers put back all the appliances such as the fridge and washing machine. The first time I turned on my washing machine after the project was done- my entire kitchen flooded. Along with the half bath and it leaked outward into the garage. Upon calling the company we were told WE should call a plumber. Because it was no longer Empire's problem. Keep in mind- my washer is less than three months old and was professionally installed. I never had a problem before Empire moved it. I was told by the sales rep that the installers would take care of everything from disconnecting to reconnecting and moving the appliances. I'm in shock still I was told this. This alone will make me take my business elsewhere. We were planning on redoing our carpet but it won't be with empire. You really want me to spend more money on your mistake? read more

BUYER, please BEWARE! This company does NOT do business like it did 15-20 years ago-we KNOW this because we were formerly happy customers at our previous home. Their "warranty" is FALSE, they consistently give conflicting & inaccurate information & the quality of their products has gone down-hill. LONG review, but I wanted this documented & factual - it could be worth your time & save you some money & heartache!!! We called for an in-home estimate, Rep initially came out to see us June 26th - gave us details, did credit application. He then made an appt. to come back to our new home the following week- June 29th to measure & bring samples. While the Rep brought plenty of samples, he could have been a bit more informative when it came to choosing the right kind of product - when I asked if the selections we saw were good for pets, he basically said "yes," & "what does the description say?" So we chose a very short, looped pile - *almost* like a Berber - but NOT a Berber, that was supposed to be "pet resistant" Rep SAID it was not a Berber carpet. Fine. Rep called back a few days later & gave us an install date for sometime during the week after July 4th. We paid a LARGE down-pymt & financed the rest - carpeted the *entire house* except for Kitchen & Dining Room. Issue #1) Sales Rep calls us the first week of July & says the brand & style of carpet we wanted is no longer available & we will have to re-select. He would be in touch with us to bring samples again. *A few days later he called back & said that we're OK - the carpet brand was a Shaw carpet & *yes* we can still get the style & color that we chose! Fine. Install gets pushed out to July 20th. Carpet goes in & looks good. Issue #2) Not even TWO WEEKS after install, my husband notes that our doodle has caught a nail in a pull on the LR carpet & it pulls out about a 6" thread. We check the dog, he's fine - nails are ALWAYS trimmed, so nothing torn or broken. HOWEVER, the carpet has a small run. Interesting - we thought this was "Pet-Resistant." My husband is furious - we haven't even had the carpet in house for 2 weeks yet, so he checks the rest of the house: Issue #3) My husband finds *3 more* little pulls in this new carpet - *IN ROOMS THAT WE SHUT OFF FROM THE DOGS* Our closed, spare bedrooms that we haven't even DONE anything to yet, because we JUST moved in!!! Husband calls Empire right away to tell them - They tell him that someone would be calling him back, he gives HIS direct cell-phone to them, making sure that they call him regarding the problem. Issue #4) Days go by without a call back. *I* finally get a call from an Empire representative. I tell her to call my husband & work out the details & get someone to review the carpet quality, etc. Give her my husband's number AGAIN. They finally call my husband & tell him that "yes, Empire has a "warranty," & that they will be sending out a special "warranty representative" to view the "damage." Another week & a half goes by - they call & make an appt. for the warranty person to come out on August 17th. Issue #5) Warranty guy comes & inspects the pulls & run in the carpet. He questions my husband about our dogs - even SEES the areas that are closed off & where the other pulls are. the Warr. rep *does* tell my husband that "bad manufacturing runs" DO happen like this & that it's a good possibility that this is what happened. Tells my husband that he actually checks the manufacturing run information in the computer & can find out if our carpet came off of a bad manufacturer's run. Issue #6) Around the end of that week/following weekend, another Empire rep calls back & tells husband "YES - our carpet *was* from a bad manufacturer's run" & that someone would be calling him back soon to make arrangements for REPLACEMENT" - that Rep wasn't clear on who would be responsible, but rep said that it was the manufacturer's error, so would most likely be the manufacturer making the replacement. That Empire rep actually TOLD my husband THAT IT WOULD BE REPLACED & someone would be calling back to set all of that up! Issue #7) Another Empire Rep finally calls Aug 27th & tells husband **that the carpet is "NOT under warranty & that Empire will not be replacing the carpet-that because it is a "Berber" carpet with loops & we have dogs, that it is not under warranty." No matter what my husband said or asked her, she just kept repeating that it "was not under warranty & Empire could not replace it." No offer to give a price reduction, no help "repairing", NOTHING. *After spending thousands, we are stuck with poor-quality carpet MIS-REPRESENTED as pet-resistant; the type of carpet & it's advertised features were conveniently CHANGED (Berber??) after we sought quality control & assistance; Staff & personnel consistently give CONFLICTING INFORMATION. Their products may be great and their installers may be amazing but alas, I will never know. Set up an appointment for an in-home consult and I got stood up. No one picked up the phone when I called. I got a text literally the day before confirming my appointment; I replied to confirm and even got confirmation that they received my reply (see screenshot). A SAD STORY...or why I would recommend that NOBODY use Empire Today! After nearly 6 months of searching for a floor that would come close in color to our Oak living room floor which is adjacent to the kitchen, we finally found a match. Unfortunately, it was with Empire Today. From the get go, the experience was a nightmare. The salesman who came out was rude (and that is being kind). His original quote was THREE TIMES the price of what it should cost for an LVP floor for our size kitchen. He then proceeds to tell us that they were running a 50% off sale, which still put them about $1300 HIGHER than any other installer. We got them to come down a bit but still paid more than we would have liked. Just a few months after the floor was installed, a part on our non functioning dishwasher broke, causing a pretty bad leak underneath the floor and into the subfloor, dripping all the way down into our basement. In the meantime, we have been going back and forth with insurance, a renovation/water mitigation company and other contractors, as well as Empire Today, to try to figure out how to get this situation remedied. And HERE's the heart of why I do NOT recommend EVER using Empire Today. But first...let me say that their installers that did our floor, were excellent (other than taking no precautions to protect the rest of our home from construction dust). They did a great job on the floor and trim itself. But ever since we have had this water damage, we have gotten the run around from Empire Today and each and every person we have spoken to over the last months, has told us a different story. They change their story, they change their recommendations. The last recommendation was we had to have a "manager" come out to survey the floor. He came out and was kind and a nice person. He told me we would hear from Empire Today this week which I was under the impression would include a QUOTE on how much it would cost to re-install a fresh floor. So I got the call, from someone I will call the "robot lady" as she has called before and her voice sounds like a robot and she just keeps repeating the same nonsense and talking in nonsensical circular logic. All we have gotten is the "run around". I then told her that when they came out to give a quote we had a 20 year plus old floor down and they had NO idea what was under that or what kind of shape the sub floor was in and yet they still gave us a quote. Her reply? The same ROTE answer. Do they just read these off a teleprompter? LOL She told me that they cannot possibly give us a quote on the floor as there is water damage underneath....WHAT???????? I told her that this made no logical sense. That we have a water mitigation company coming out to take care of it and dry out the floor and replace any sub floor that may need to be replaced. She said that since there is water damage underneath, there is no possible way to give a quote. How about this? You give a quote on the floor and installation just as you normally would because...."drum roll"...when they would do the floor, the water damage will be GONE! Because a water mitigation company that the insurance recommended, will have already taken care of it. It will be a "clean" install. The response? A robotic..."we cannot do that because there is water damage underneath. Excuse me...but, that makes NO sense! They are not going to be doing anything with that. It will be GONE! After going around with the robot woman at least 3-4 times, I said thank you and hung up. And here's the thing...Empire Today makes you believe that nobody else sells the floors they do. This is NOT true, as I have already talked to several local companies who buy from the same warehouse as Empire, and they sent samples, and they are the SAME floor! We have gone back and forth for months now with them and each time they tell us something different. I told her that they should have sent out this manager then AFTER the damage was taken care of...that sending him out was a completely unnecessary step as we already KNEW what had to be done (rip out the entire brand new floor that we are STILL paying for) and have water mitigation for 3-5 days and then apply a new floor. MORAL OF THE STORY: If you don't want to go out of your mind talking to people who make NO sense, and who keep talking in circles to confuse you like the best of the manipulative narcissists that exist in this world (and believe me, I have my experience in dealing with people like that), then save yourself the trouble, find a good or the same floor elsewhere, and hire a contractor you can trust. Very pleased..we are repeat customers with Empire Today. The sales rep arrived within time frame with the appropriate samples we needed to see (LVP). He was courteous, friendly and able to answer our questions, no high pressure. Installation was scheduled for following week. Installers came within the time frame. Explained certain things they were doing, and just as advertised, moved furniture, installed flooring, cleaned up and left. Before leaving, the head of the crew had us look at floor and asked if we had questions. There is nothing negative I can say about this experience, would definitely use Empire Today again. read more

Todd just came by to give me a quote, after the ongoing sales pitch and when asked to give me 24 hours on a decision, he says no. So I'm not interested in being hustled into purchasing flooring. I'll gladly pay more with my other vendor and feel comfortable it's with someone I can trust. I would not recommend this company to anyone and would advise to stay away. Love my floors and I loved the installers! That's where my happiness ends. My sales person was a great seller but terrible at follow through and follow up. I still have yet to hear from him after install to see how I like my $12,000.00 purchase. Crazy! Billing was and continues to be a nightmare! I made a huge down payment on my floors to keep from having a credit ding - which was made 3 days prior to install that never made it on to my account. Therefore, it looked as though I was asking for a $12K loan instead of $7K. My credit took a huge hit!! I have yet to hear from anyone (7 days and counting) after addressing my concerns with a supervisor and being promised a return call that day. Shocking. I cannot in good conscience recommend a company with such terrible follow through. Thank goodness the installers did such a great job, otherwise this would be down to a 1 star review. read more

Awful awful awful. We paid nearly $10,000 to have hardwood laid on the main level of our home about 2 years ago. Over the past couple of months, we noticed that the panels were laid incorrectly, and weren't lining up agains the wall. (See photos). I called Empire and they sent an installer out to look at the work. He tells us that it's clearly an installation problem, and the repairs will cost us nothing since it was their fault. He says they'll call us to set up a time to install. Empire never called to set up an appointment, so after a week I call them, and I'm informed that I need to purchase 2 more boxes of material ($400 each) and even though that cost is supposed to include labor, there is extra work to be done that isn't included and we will also have to pay $280 for labor. So after a $10,000 project, 2 years later we have to pay another $1,000 to correct crappy work that THEY did in the first place. I would highly suggest you don't utilize this company, because not only is the quality of their work and, their warranty clearly doesn't cover anything... even their own shoddy work. **Edited to add** it's interesting that every post on here mentions that they are sneaky and not forthcoming with their warranty details. October 22, 2020 - USE 50 FLOORS. DO NOT GO TO EMPIRE. They took $9k of my money, never completed the project and won't refund me. Don't EVER use this company. I have never felt so disrespected as a customer in my entire life and I have had poor customer service experience. If I could give them a negative score I would. I never write reviews but I couldn't help but do this to share with you all the TERRIBLE experience I've had with Empire Today. The total cost of my project was $9K (not a little bit of money) which included re-carpeting the house and putting hardwood in a few rooms and on the stairs with a carpet runner. It's been a month, they CANNOT complete the project and they WILL NOT REFUND my money. The company is unable to install my hardwood because the materials were damaged 2x and they can't find the materials. Instead of telling me, they let me call back 2-3x per week for 3 weeks before they told me what's going on. Now I am trying to get a refund for the portion of the work that has not been completed and I am getting the run around. The sales person told me to call the office, the office is never open to speak with someone, I've asked to speak to a manager and they say that can't do anything about it, I stay on the phone for 30min on hold 2x a day and then am dropped, several tickets have been created and I am told someone will call me back but no one ever calls back. I've been trying to speak with someone to get a refund for 30 DAYS and nothing! I want my money back. 1st Issue - Limited supply of hardwood (hardwood didn't match) 2nd Issue - Installation - the contractors were calling me asking me to coordinate with them to come to my house. 3rd Issue - Didn't come to scheduled installation appointment 4th Issue - 2 times they were supposed to install the hardwood but the hardwood was damaged. I received NO call. 5th Issue - DEMANDED I PAY IN FULL DESPITE THE PROJECT BEING UNFINISHED; I explained I was uncomfortable with that and they said there's no way they wouldn't finish. Over 6 weeks later, Empire Today has not been able to get the hardwood materials (and they never told me). I have never been treated so poorly. Update Oct 22 2020 8:21pm - Don't understand how they now can't seem to find my information and looking at the rest of the reviews it appears that poor customer service is a theme. I paid my money in full on time. I want my refund in the same timely manner. Update October 24 2020. I sent an email to customer service based on the response from customer service to my Google review. They have not responded yet and they still HAVE NOT REFUNDED my money for an incomplete job. As info, we just needed our kitchen, half bath and laundry room (and the tiny connecting hallway) reworked with vinyl, as we're preparing to sell our home. Empire readily scheduled a free estimate, and they were willing to do so on the weekend. The positives begin and end there. The estimate went OK; typical, lots of measuring, went through some samples, the normal upsell attempts, all fairly innocuous. The first red flag was the coupon - HomeAdvisor and Empire supposedly "team up" to provide value, so we received a coupon for $500 off service. When I inquired about the coupon, we were told "oh, this is already marked down as low as it can go." That's not really how a coupon is supposed to work, but we let it go. Empire gave us a window on a Tuesday morning - not a window for their arrival, a window in which they would call to THEN tell us their arrival time. So essentially they expect you to block off the entire day for the install, which I did. That was time off from work well spent. The installers were pleasant and seemed very professional. They arrived and immediately knew something was wrong; the work order was only for the kitchen area, not the additional areas. They measured and re-measured, but the consensus was that not only did the work order only supply them with enough material for the kitchen; they didn't even have enough material for the kitchen. The topper: the vinyl was the wrong pattern, they didn't have the correct product on the truck. So the estimate/quote got just about every single aspect of the job incorrect. The rest of the day entailed 4 separate phone calls, each of which were with a customer service rep that could only say I needed to speak with an install manager. I was assured that the ticket had been escalated with the utmost urgency, I would absolutely receive a call within two hours. That call never came. 6 hours of the business day remained when the error was discovered, but no one with any actual authority ever called to admit the mistake and attempt to rectify it. We were asked to reschedule, but even when I did earlier in the day, with each subsequent call the rescheduled appointment was never confirmed in their system. At 5:30pm I was informed that anyone with the ability to make a decision had gone home for the day. It was at this point that I cancelled the service. If you want to waste a significant amount of time and delay the sale of your home (or whatever other goal you may have) - go ahead and call Empire. read more

I wish they could be rewarded zero stars. When we first moved into our condo, we hired them for two jobs. One in the loft, and one in the master bedroom. After a lot of back and forth and contract signing, I'm not allowed to discuss in detail the results of the loft. So we'll talk about the master bedroom and the wall to wall carpet installation. The installation is crap. In less than a year, the carpet became loose and now it's bubbled in the middle and coming up from the edges. At the time of sale, we were told that their carpets come with a lifetime warranty however we were never told that installation came with a 1 year warranty. So remember that. We've been trying to get them to come to re-install the carpet in the master bedroom. They called once and left a message but any calls back have been going straight to voicemail and not returned. We suspect that they outsource their customer service to individuals that work from home that have no desire to answer their phones. This past week, we've noticed that the fibers of the carpet are starting to come undone as well. So not only is the installation terrible, it appears that the bad installation is affecting the life of the carpet. This company has been extremely horrible in regards of communication and no sense of care for there customer. On September 30 2022 the 3rd group of contractors came out to my house and took up half of my floor because one of the workers got hurt (prayerfully he is ok) however you would have thought that Empire would deploy more workers for the job instead of two for the kind of kitchen I have. Then they didn't even bring enough wood to finish the job so the workers never came back and it is now 8 days later of my kitchen still not being completed on top of yesterday I just received a call from a lady name Kayla who did not start with an apology she just went right in to "I'm calling to get you schedule for another crew number 4 to come out and finish your floor" what about the fast food bill of $400 plus dollars I had to accumulate since my kitchen has been inoperable for 8 days now. I was very disappointed with my experience with Empire Today. I scheduled an estimate with an Empire Today salesman, Todd Lipton, and had a very pleasant experience. He was polite, and gave me a very competitive quote for flooring removal and carpet installation. After scheduling our appointment for their services, I looked up reviews for the company. I did see the poor rating and became very nervous using them. I called our salesman and customer service 4 separate times in the days leading to our appointment to make sure they knew about the flooring removal that was to take place. Todd and customer service assured me that the removal was on the service ticket and would be taken care of. The day of install, the crew did show up on time. However, they did not present themselves in a professional manner. They showed up with no uniforms, wearing excessive jewelry, and ball caps. Once the crew entered the home and saw the existing flooring to be removed, they stated they were not told about the specific material type (ceramic tile), and they did not have any tools with them to remove that material. The crew informed me they would need to reschedule the work. I asked why their boss did not tell them, and they stated they were not employees of Empire today, but Subcontractors. Needless to say, I sent them packing and immediately cancelled the order. This is a major breakdown in communication. I called Empire Today and spoke with a manager, Bobby. He appeared to be sympathetic and agree that the crew not showing up looking professional or having the correct tools was unacceptable. I give this company no stars. We placed an order on 6/30 was told it would be installed on 7/1. We asked multiple times as the installation was taking place at rental property a good distance away. The confirmed it was 7/1. We went drove out there to let them in hours later we got a call with that it would be rescheduled for the following Monday. We got a call Friday saying can't do it Monday we will have to push it out another week. At this point we lost a sale on the house. We called asked for a refund open a ticket, was told two days later that it has been approved for a full refund and we would be credit back on our card within 10 business days. They have closed out the ticket, we haven't received a refund and we have open another service ticket. No customer service, no way to talk with management no way to document these conversations and the amount of time on hold is ridiculous. read more

Bad product, misrepresented by an untrained sales rep and poor installation. I could have done a better installation myself. I am not someone who can afford to throw money away like this. Keep shopping and don't risk your flooring solutions to these guys. It's an expensive and time consuming gamble. read more

The one star is only because what they did do looks good but I have to two words STAY AWAY!! Dealing with Empire has been one of the worst experiences ever. What was supposed to be a next day installation turned into a weeks fight of phone calls and arguments. They came in on a Monday to measure for carpet and hardwood for a NEXT DAY installation. I was scheduled for at install like 8am. The next day I got the robo call and a call from a re that they were in route. It was about 9:30 the hardwood guys arrived. Before they even began worked they started saying they couldn't do certain things in the house, which led to the first call with corporate, my doors being left off the hinges, toilets and sinks being removed and left disconnected and less than half my floor done. Carpet guys didn't arrive until like 2pm. They pulled up the carpet, remeasured and then realized they didn't have enough material. They stated the job and stayed until around 8. I was told both crews would return the next morning at 8 and 9 respectively, it was 9 when the fort crew arrived. The carpet men never showed. Hardwood was finished and it looks great but my doors are still off the hinges and my toilets are still disconnected... Carpet guys finally call and say can you TEXT us a picture of the carpet so we can check the warehouse for it... I text, no response. By now it's about noon. I call and the reps tell me that a high priority ticket has been made for a call back once they find out the situation. Guess what, no call back so I call them again, and the story is now they don't have the carpet and someone will be in touch within the hour. No call back. I call AGAIN and I got another bullshit excuse. Finally the corporate number from Chicago calls and ask about the job. I explain the situation. They put me on hold and the call is disconnected. I call back and can get no one on the phone. The installers then call a while later around 7pm. They are at the home which I'm not aware of because I'm not living it because I have no furniture there because they haven't done there job. They want a piece of the carpet to check the warehouse and they need the work order they left. I inform them in an hour away and they have to wait. He then says they're not going to wait and did have a spare key around the house so they could just go in on there own... No sir you may not. So they leave and say they will be back at lunch the next day which is Friday. I'm fine with that because I have appointments that I had to reschedule because of them anyway. Lunch rolls and leaves and I'm back on the phone again trying to find out what the help is going on. At this point I'm livid, taking names and preparing to report everyone to whoever I need to because this makes no sense at this point. Needless to say they did not show. I left the carpet scraps and work order on the porch. It is now Saturday as I write this review and prepare to move half my furniture into a half floored home hoping someone, anyone will show up and finish. (This review was shortened for time and space. I can write a short story on this awful situation) Moral of the story, keep your money and deal with anyone else other than Empire. The supposed savings aren't worth the headache. read more

I had a horrific (and continue to do so) with Empire Today out of Doraville, GA. The issue extends from the sales person and terms of contract, to the installation of the carpeting, and right into the customer service end. This company is a fine example of a big company taking advantage of it's clients and not owning up to their responsibilities once they have been paid. As part of the agreement to our contract, the sales rep and I went room-to-room discussing what was my responsibility to move and what would be installers responsibility to move. Due to my back issues, they were going to take responsibility for moving the heavy furniture. I also expressed my issue with working with subcontractors to install the carpeting. He guaranteed me that a foreman would be on the site at all times. Further, he expressed that due to the large size of the job, we would be the first and only job of the day and that it may even extend into a few hours on a 2nd day. They were to pick up the carpeting at the warehouse and proceed to our place right after. I found out through a robo call from Empire that they were on another job and that no time table could be given as to when they would arrive at our job. I called the sales rep with disapproval. He simply told me to be patient. The first "crew" did not arrive until noon and the foreman told me he would not be at the job, but that a 2nd crew would arrive between 2:00-3:00, and he would run by to see the completion of the job. I called the sales rep upset stating my understanding was that a foreman would be present the whole job. He back-tracked on his statement that a foreman would be present and changed it to an "experienced" installer would be present. After discussion with the installer, he had only been with the company for less than two months. Further, the "crew" consisted of this inexperienced installer, another installer that did over $1,100 in damage to my staircase and a woman that sat around with a vacuum for eight hours. As far as the second crew goes, when 3:00 rolled around, I called the foreman asking where the second crew was. He said they were not needed. Only one of five bedrooms had been completed at this time. In an effort to expedite the job, they did $1,100 in damage to my staircase, busted a frame on one of my beds. I was forced to move the heavy furniture, that was NOT part of my contract, reinstall closet doors, and to clean up after their work. I have left NUMEROUS voicemails, emails, complaints with Empire Today and issued complaints with the Better Business Bureau and Rip-off Report. The ONLY timely phone call I got from them was when I issued an appeal to the bank for payment to Empire Today for an incomplete job with much destruction. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I was never left material on how to care for the carpeting for warranty purposes that was due to me upon completion of the job, and was promised at other times through the service department... I still have not received it. The subcontractors that were on my job worked an 11:30 hour workday that day. It began with them picking up carpeting at the warehouse at 8:00 am, proceeding to another job, and finishing my job at 7:45 pm. They said they had no lunch break. No wonder damage had been done to my house. Is this the kind of people; sales, installers, and service department that Empire Today wants to build it's reputation on!!! read more

What a horrible experience!!! I am assuming that this was a contractor who came into my home as he asked one question, received an answer and immediately left my home stating "This is not the job for me." Is this how Empire does business? Horrible customer service. We requested to have my living room carpet removed and hardwood added as well as refinishing my current hardwood floors if possible. He stated "Oh we don't do that and walked out. Even if you don't refinish current floors, he turned down a job to install brand new floors in my living room. Your worker spent 5 minutes in my home. Is there a NEGATIVE STAR? they don't even deserve a star! Couldn't pass the QUALITY SERVICE part to even know about their products! This happened last year around August 16, 2017. I'm so used to "yelping" restaurant reviews I forgot I could do all businesses.. so shame on me for getting this in late... Scheduling the bid was easy and the sales rep showed up on time. However, the sales rep (lucky him I forgot his name) was extremely unprofessional from the beginning. Upon walking into our home, sales guy just looked around and proceeded to talk down to us like we could not afford Empire. Stating how expensive the job would be in a way that was condescending and patronizing (that's why I said he was professionally rude but in my book, he was an "can't say the bad word"). I knew it was an expensive job (uhhh hello we budget) and I made sure he knew I knew that. How dare him speak to us that way in our own home. I was so upset I didn't even care to find out what his name was. I surely did not want to lower my standards and behave rudely. I really didn't feel like explaining myself to some stranger in my own home. I may not have a million-dollar home, but I am not going to allow some individual to tell me what I can and cannot afford! We had two flooring companies come to our home and they were nothing like this Empire salesman! Unbelievably frustrating and unprofessional experience. Even though "LISA" called and was very cordial and apologetic we are not going to go with Empire for this very reason. I told my husband that we are not going to spend any money with Empire because of their degrading and unprofessional salesman (third party/sub-contract, this man represented Empire in a bad way). Empire just lost thousands of dollars from us! Needless to say, we are happy that we didn't go with Empire, we found a better contractor and they did a fantastic job on our wood flooring! Carpet delivered as expected. Great quality and installation. Would definitely consider again for future flooring projects.
