    EMPIRE DESTROYED MY STORM DOOR

EMPIRE DESTROYED MY STORM DOOR--- BEWARE This is how the Empire co left my home and told me they send a check to me for damages and never Did ! My experience with Empire has been, by far, the most disappointing and frustrating customer service situation I have ever encountered.

Very Unhappy with entire project from Day 1 .. we were told to contact Lou pittsburgh boss..he acted like he wanted to help at first but later no return calls. He had installers starting our restaurant two times after 8 pm @ night , the 3r time we told told him we refuse because installers are coming tired and over worked..He lied and said we were first on schedule but installers told us different..None of the carpet squares line up ..2 damaged walls when pulled off cove base that had to be patched..and after they finished 2 or more squares are lifting already..going with Empire was such a mistake from day one .. now we see how they can beat other pricing because of how this place conducts business.. we have had other people laugh when they see this restaurant floor..and asked who did this work!!?? we have requests to talk to the higher people in charge to see what can be done .. we will see if we are ignored like we have been..we will not let this go because no one should have to go through what we did.. it is ahame they are in business.. if issues aren't addressed we will try BBB next

Floor uneven where no leveling cement was used causing separating and chipping.
    James R.

I noticed my luxury vinyl planks are separating and chipping. A contractor neighbor came over and put a large level down. Where my floors are separating/chipping, there is an uneven "dip" in the concrete floor. In a previous review, I indicated the installers brought 3 containers of leveling cement but did not use it. Empire floors are coming out for a "moisture test". I believe the floors need to be leveled and a moisture barrier installed or this is going to continue and get worse. Installation workers failed to install it correctly. The contractor neighbor said when he's building a house, if the sub contractor doesn't do a good job, he forces them to fix their mistakes.

Shame on you Empire! Took the day off to get the carpet installed. The carpet was delivered HEAVILY damaged and unable to be installed. A waste of everyone's time, and now I have significant quality concerns about the product and your company.

Uneven planks. Won't allow me to upload video.

I'm sure many people have used Empire Today for floors. In a word: DON'T. Just for background, we are having the LVP floors Empire installed in November 2024 completely ripped out and redone correctly today. The new company, National Floors Direct, is putting down a layer of some sort of cement/leveling material to even out the tile so we won't have the uneven and bouncy floors that we have complained about to Empire 3 times now. To have Empire reply to us with "it was installed within specifications" is unfathomnable, especially seeing how this new floor from another company is laying perfectly. They even sent out a "manager" who hinted that we were somehow at fault for using water to mop it. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement, and coupled with the fact that the company basically brushed off an unhappy/unsatisfied customer is extraordinary (not in a good way). And to think I wasted over $8000 on these floors..... well chalk it up to lesson learned because I doubt this company really cares that much about an amount so minuscule. I will be posting my reviews, of course, in hopes I can save someone else the time and money on shoddy products and installation. I'll post the new floors once they are completely in, but the small part that they've completed is already 100% better and higher quality product. Enjoy some photos of the Empire floor that I sent to them. These are just from one area that gets used most and was most obvious.

I never know whether to trust rave reviews on Yelp, but in the case of Brian Ludlow, owner of…read moreLudlow's Handyman Services, the five star ratings are spot on accurate. I needed a mailbox installed and had tried for 3 months to schedule various handyman recommended by neighbors. I finally took things into my own hands and searched for a reputable and highly rated handyman on Yelp. There were several options to choose from, but I was immediately drawn to Brian's business because it is locally owned and operated by him. Plus, I really liked his bio. I could tell he was someone who enjoyed his work and was focused on high quality outcomes for customer projects. Brian did not disappoint. Every step of the process was a good one. My first point of contact was through Yelp messaging. That's when I first knew I was on the right track because Brian promptly replied. Moreover, his communication skills were excellent from the get-go. He was able to fit me into his schedule a few days after my request. He arrived on time prepared with what he needed to do the job. Everything went smoothly, especially because Brian and I had reviewed the installation instructions through photos I attached to our Yelp messages. He was able to acquire the remaining needed materials that I did not have on hand. Brian clearly knew what he was doing and got the mailbox installed without any problems. He charged a reasonable amount and was a pleasure to work with. I had a great customer experience. I already have other projects lined up for him. Living in a 200-year-old home is going to provide plenty of opportunities to call on Brian's experience and excellent problem-solving skills.
