After seeing a billboard about Empire Vein Specialists I decided to go in for a consultation. I had been having problems with my leg circulation for years. Some of my symptoms were swelling, cramping, itching and heaviness. At first I was very nervous but the staff was very friendly and helpful in explaining everything to me. I was treated with VenaSeal procedure on 3 of my veins. When it came down to getting the treatment done Dr. Grewal was amazing, she's very caring and took the time to answer all of my concerns. 2 week update: Why didn't I do this 10 years ago! Seriously I have no horse Ain this race and I don't know anyone here personally but when something is awesome it's awesome. I still need to go do the cosmetic part of this but my legs feel 20 pounds lighter per leg when I walk. My ankle swelling have reduced to just my extra weight, it was double this size before every day of my life, miserable my energy level is thru the roof for me, I can be on my feet all day and yes of course my feet hurt at the end of the day because I'm human but unlike before when I wake up the next morning they feel good again they used to hurt all the time every day. Anyway, I just had to go on about empire vein specialist I can't say enough about this procedure it was worth every penny. I will be doing another update once I go back in for the cosmetic part and have them removed. Thank you doctor, my trip to New York this year is going to be a completely new experience Wish I had done this 20 years ago.... It took me years to commit to seeing someone about my varicose Veins. I got 2 estimates, I went to west medical 1st and the staff was wonderful but the price was very high for a non covered medical procedure. My niece recommended Empire and I must say as soon as I was taken back with the nurse I was super impressed with their kindness and the Dr. Herself, she pretty much immediately sealed the deal for me! She was real and not pushy just kind straight up and informative. Big plus, they do the treatment in the Riverside facility. I already chose her before I knew the cost and the consultation took until I was satisfied and had all my questions answered. I had my 6 superficial veins closed off on October 14 went back the next day for an ultrasound to make sure no clots were forming and will go back in a month for final check up and get my appointment to have the giant ugly veins that still show removed. The doctor and the staff are very nice. The place is very clean. I just was not satisfied with the results. It's been 9 months since I had the 1st procedure, but I didn't see any change, I still have spider veins. I had a bad staining on the Sclerotherapy procedure. Be careful!!! They suggested a very expensive treatment that another specialist said I don't need. They'd get the insurance money and I'd end up with sealed veins that didn't need treatment according to a second opinion. Scary! I went for a free consultation because of some superficial veins on my legs. I never had any problems, just cosmetic. After a complimentary ultrasound of my legs by a technician - done prone, not standing (a big red flag!) - a nurse practitioner met with me in a private room where she told me I had venous reflux disease and needed treatment on both legs. She explained how they would insert a catheter and seal off the problematic veins. My cosmetic concerns would not be addressed. She gave me the name of the staff person to call concerning insurance coverage. I was shocked, since I've never had varicose veins or any kind of leg trouble. I drove quite a distance to get a second opinion. I went to a doctor who is Board Certified in Venous and Lymphatic Medicine. He is a top vein specialist who has performed over 5,000 Endovenous Ablations. He personally (not a tech, but the doctor) performed an ultrasound on both legs while I was standing. He said he could treat the cosmetic issues. I then asked him if I had any major problems with my veins and he said, "No." I then told him about my previous diagnosis. He said he has had many patients who have been told similar things and how bad it is to seal off veins that do not need it. Be careful!!! read more

I went in for a free consultation they told me to change the appearance of the veins in my legs would cost $5000 for a "sealing" of the 3 veins. I didn't care I had been dealing with my spider/V veins for 20 years and wanted to get rid of them. The next step was to pay $550.00 for a ultrasound and a new patient consultation. It wasn't until this visit that they Told me I had 5 veins (that you cannot see) and it was going to be $6,000 to seal them but then and only then at this new patient consultation I was told that this is not going to fix the veins appearance. I also needed 5 treatments of sclerotherapy at $400 per treatment. I am definitely getting a second opinion...But I feel ripped off...I just paid 550.00 for nothing. On 5+ visits to the Riverside facility, I have experienced superior customer service from front office, surgical assistants (Silvana), ultrasound technicians (Hailey and Landon) on each and every visit. I'm sorry that I don't remember everyone's name. They have all been friendly, efficient, respectful of time and scheduling. I have felt very well cared for by Dr Grewal. She took the time to explain the procedure, including benefits and risks. She didn't pressure me into anything that I wasn't comfortable with doing. I believe there is a lot of fraud at this business. My pant legs were rolled up and I was allegedly given an ultrasound. The lady who took me back only put gel on my legs and then wiped it right off. Unless she could do an ultrasound with her hands and a paper towel there was no ultrasound given. I was then directed to another room where the PA came in and told me that they could treat the underlying problem that the ultrasound showed, what ultrasound? The underlined vein issue which is covered by my PPO plan, but not the actual vein that was bulging out that I went in for. They would do the other underlined procedure first and then try to get my insurance to cover the vein that was showing and that vein that I went in for would have a 50/50 chance or probably much less for my insurance to cover. read more

I usually never write reviews unless it's totally worth it...If I could give 10 stars I would. 6 months ago I came to have my spider veins disappear and they have pretty much vanished by now. I would say my legs look 90% better after having sclerotherapy done with Dr Grewal. She is AMAZING and did wonders with these legs of mine. My friend recommended her as the best Dr for this procedure. She made me feel comfortable and did it quickly. I hate needles and can't handle pain, but she walked me through it and was extremely patient with me. The facility was so nice, modern and clean. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Dr Grewal is such a sweet person. She's kind and genuinely cares for her patients. I have had such wonderful experiences at every appointment. Facility is nice and clean and nurses are friendly with good bedside manner, I got helpful information at my consult. Minus 2 stars for Rocio, the seemingly apathetic front desk receptionist. Good luck getting her to return phone calls and be prepared to ask multiple questions to get basic information-- I dealt with her in person and also several times over the phone and in my opinion she could really use customer service training. Rocio- you are the first impression of this business and your attitude makes a huge difference in whether or not customers trust and feel good about having treatment done with Empire Vein Specialists. Today I took my mother to have a procedure at this office because she needed a driver for after the procedure. I have a 22 month old daughter, and of course she had to come with. My daughter is very friendly and talkative. She made friends with everyone in the office and was showing the other patient her toys. While waiting for the 25 min procedure to be finished doctor Nina Grewal came out and told me to "can you please keep your daughter quite she is not only disturbing my office but other patients!" I responded and told her "I am extremely sorry that my daughter is not even 2 years old yet and I was keeping her as quite as possible, and told her she was welcome to ask her to keep down her volume." She responded with "I am not going to tell her that you need to discipline your daughter better." I was in complete and totally shock! She must not have children and must not know how hard it is to keep a toddler quite. It's extremely windy outside and I did not want to make her sit in the car. The doctor proceeded to go into the room where my mother was having her procedure done and tell her "is that your daughter in the waiting room she's being distributive and it's rude and annoying other patients." They had one other guest in the waiting room and no one seemed annoyed by my daughters presence. I just left the office and I am furious this lady not only disrespected me but made me feel like a bad mom for having a talkative and healthy child. If you don't like child I would encourage them to have a sign stating no children allowed. Someone please tell me if my feelings are valid or if I'm just overreacting? Being a mom to a toddler is not easy lady thank you for you input!! I would say if possible take your business else where. For a doctor to act in this manner is beside me. I've ran a business before and I would never ever treat any of my clients or anyone in this manner. My daughter could be ADHD or autistic for all she knows. read more

This place is wack for sure. Went in for a consultation and they had to take an ultrasound of my one leg with spider veins (which are noticeable to the naked eye) and they still did both legs when the other leg didn't have any of showed any signs of spider veins. Then I go to meet the doctor which by the way was unpleasant. Why? I could not for the life of me get a word in what procedure I wanted. Secondly, they offer the most expensive treatment when I have already been to 2 other doctors that recommend a less invasive procedure. This place doesn't make you feel at home at all.... Very unwelcoming from the receptionist to the doctor in charge. Go elsewhere.. these people don't need your money. Also, they won't quit calling you. Months after the visit, they keep calling asking when I'm ready to take the leap and have this procedure done. The procedure was done.. but not by this place. read more

The nurse practitioner is rude. I went in for a consultation. (Meaning I would be asking questions about what I'm interested in getting) I need to know what the process is, what is to be expected ... and she looked annoyed with me and wasn't helpful whatsoever when I was asking. I definitely won't be going back. She made me feel stupid as if I'm supposed to know the anatomy of veins. She should learn how to speak to people especially in that field of work. She is a hag and has an attitude problem. She has an attitude with every single person who walks in . Shes extremely unprofessional. These clients who you feel are a burden to you are the people who are making it possible for you to receive a check, because of these clients you have the job u have, because of these clients you are able to provide food to put on your table . But she is to self absorbed and unprofessional to think in this way . You can tell she doesn't like her job and that she doesn't want to be bothered by anyone . She is a representation of this business and that is sad for who ever owns and works hard for this business to be successful,that you would allow someone who seems to be ungrateful for the opportunity to ruin your reputation. I should of listened to the other negative yelp reviews. Terrible experience. Free ultra sound? Then why was asked for my ID and insurance card. Of course I didn't hand that over. This is a pure marketing scam. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. I've been to other vein specialists just wanted a female for my surgery. This place does not give you a proper ultrasound. Technician gave me this fake ultrasound as if she thought that I was going to believe that this was a true ultrasound. Then the PA says that I'm dehydrated that's why I got a false negative after I told her that two other doctors had told me that I need surgery. Also I was not dehydrated I had more than the amount of water that is required to take for an ultrasound. You're going to get a false negative if you do not do a proper ultrasound. Worst of all is I had to bring my daughter that is disabled in her wheelchair which is not easy. Just to come to a place that gives you fake ultrasounds for marketing purposes to make you come back in again for a true ultrasound later. I'm not a doctor and I'm not a nurse but I have a daughter that is severely disabled and I have dealt with many processes and procedures and this is not an ultrasound. Dr. Grewal and staff are amazing! From the minute I walked in the office I was greeted with a smile. The wait time was close to nothing. Dr. Grewal explain the different treatment options and answered any questions and concerns I had. I felt really comfortable getting my three procedures done. Everything was explained during the procedure. If I had any concerns about anything they were completely taken care off. The procedures where done so efficiently and painlessly that I was amazed when I was told we are done. I thought I was getting prepped when actually Dr. Grewal had just finished with the procedure. Getting my sonogram done was also very comfortable. They had the room warm and I wasn't freezing while I was getting it done. The follow up appointment with the NP was also great. She explained the healing process and also provided tips and suggestions for traveling long distance. The office is really nice and clean.
