Awful customer service. You'd think you're calling the POTUS. As mentioned by another, I have tried calling various times with no luck to get a person to schedule an appointment. This office is overcrowded and beyond busy. It's downright chaotic! I left my daughters glasses for repair. Old, scratched lenses were to be replaced free of charge because they were still under warranty. I got a call a few days later saying they were ready. When I went to pick them up there was a charge AND the lenses were never even replaced!!! They were going by an order for an older pair of glasses which were not still under warranty. They could not find, anywhere in their system, my most recent order for which the new lenses would have been covered. Never going back!! read more

Worst service ever. Showed up to scheduled appointment 15 minutes early as requested, and checked in. After 45 minutes(1/2 hour after appointment) asked what the hold up was and was told that some machine was not working properly and I would be called shortly. 45 more minutes go by and several (5) people who came in after I did were called back. Will not being going back. Customer service is terrible. The people who talk to you about glasses and do your bill seem untrained. You have to wait a long time for everything. Forget calling on the phone, it will ring forever. When my glasses arrived, the person who gave them to me didn't even offer to adjust them, just handed them to me. No customer service at all. One of the worst experiences of my life. Horrible staff and horrible customer service. I've been a customer of Empire Vision for 20 years in Albany but do my work schedule I went to the one in Kingston and it was embarassing. Not one smile. Not one Hello, The woman was basically accusing me of trying to get out of paying cause I was in a new store and she said it was strange that I didn't go to the Albany store even though I said I was here because I was working in the area. I was happy with the service and the lenses they provided me with were spot on. But, the sunglasses frames cracked on a beach vacation and I glued them back together and then the other side cracked and crumbled so I couldn't glue them. Now they are three months out of their warranty and they will do nothing for me. Hundreds of dollars down the drain! After making a bit of a stink the manager agreed to honor the warranty and gave me new sunglasses. I'm very pleased. Hopefully it was a one off! read more

I'm sitting here at the store for over a half hour waiting for a simple adjustment to the frames I bought 8 months ago. Since January the screw attaching the right temple to the frame becomes loose about once a month. Obviously defective frames. Not worth the hundreds of dollars they cost. I'll never go back!!! Under staffed every time I went I spend 2 hours waiting! After I waited 2 hours the doctor spend 5 minutes with me. When I went to pick up my new glasses I put them on and they were very blurry so I told the guy and he said I have to get use to them, after trying to wear them for 2 weeks and getting bad headaches I went back and retuned them. I took my business else where and was very happy and after getting my new glasses they were clear and I didn't have to get "Use" to them!! read more

Its a shame that I had a similar experience to Eamonn at the Kingston Empire Vision. They were double booked, had poor customer service. They were friendly but the manager was nasty with us: Because they had trouble getting payment from my master card (our Insurance Co. uses) they embarrassed me by saying they would 'require payment of me' treating me like I was a criminal. Here, it was THEIR fault. They are 'excluded' by our Insurance and we were not aware of this. Once my daughter's contacts prescription is over I will not do business there again. read more

I wish I had written this review last year during my first experience with Visionworks. Sadly we often only seek to write a review for a poor experience, which I don't understand--reading a few of these reviews--their experience was so different from my own. Last year I found myself needing glasses for the very first time since childhood, and I went to Visionworks in Kingston as I had heard that they had a large selection of frames. They have an amazing selection of frames from which it was very difficult to choose, but choose I finally did--with the patient and interested assistance of several staff, but notably my optician Ann. She was beyond patient, and in particular was especially attentive to ensuring that I got the best deal with my insurance. I was there for hours, in the midst of a very busy room with other clients, and she saw me through to the end. I got two beautiful pairs of glasses which I absolutely love. Recently I went in on 9/29/16 to make use of the remainder of my insurance, and Ann likewise provided the same care and assistance to me, in the process of empathizing with me that my eyesight had apparently diminished over the course of a year of steady computer work. What brings me to write a review finally a year later is that Ann worked with me, once again, tirelessly over frames and prices while I was under the impression that I had more $ to work with than I thought, insurance-wise. Upon checkout, I realized in a very stressful moment that I was quite mistaken, and Ann didn't bat an eye, but put my order aside for me when I would return the next day. When I did return, Ann continued to offer the same attention to me in ensuring I got the best deal and the pairs of glasses most important to me, even despite my having taken up so much of her time and patience the day before. I am incredibly grateful to Ann for her assistance and attentiveness during this particular instance--as I was before, but neglected to write a review. I have found all of the staff that I encountered at Visionworks in Kingston to be likewise kind and helpful, from those at the front desk to the staff who assisted me in my eye exam, including Dr. Sandy who took care to answer and explain all my concerns. I had a fantastic experience here today. Fast friendly no pressure sales-everyone was kind professional and helpful.

When first arriving for there was a older gentleman here just to pick up glasses he stood there being the only one waiting to be help ( till I walked in )and I watched him continue to wait for a good 15 minutes prior to even be Bring acknowledged. next my appointment which was 9am. I complete all exams even a pre test ( I which Is the same as eye dilation) just as I start the pre test (alreqdy starting the first eye) I'm told it's not required and I will be charged an extra fee for this test which isnt required and I didn't ask for (again alre started so now I owe the extra fee ) upon check out they continued to tell they we're putting in anti glare lenses for another $60 even tho I kept expressing I only need regular lenses regular glasses nothing special. When I continued to refuse this the individual I was working with kept getting up randomly walking away he will go help other customers even though I was in the middle of checking out as well as going over to his coworkers and stating rude things about me because I was not taking what he wanted me too as well as he tried to whisper I could hear the entire conversation completely disrespectful unprofessional rude. Very disappointing especially when the store was no longer busy and he looked at me and stated verbatim " ok well you're going to need to hurry up bc I have other things to do " If you are a individual who doesn't like working with people then don't ! just bc you are unhappy doesnt mean you need to make others miserable read more

I will never go back here. First yearly eye exam in 25 years where the Dr spent the max 13 minutes with me. The trial contacts weren't working for me and after trying my 3rd lens when I went to order contacts no one ever put the last pair in the computer. So when I ordered them I think they didn't give me the right ones or maybe the lens type isn't a good fit I dunno Went back today and I told the Dr I can't see clearly. She barked at me and said well did you open the box of contacts? Uh yeah how would I know they weren't working for me? I wasn't asking to be reimbursed for contacts. I Wasn't asking for any special treatment I JUST WANT TO SEE CLEARLY She just wanted to squawk at me. When I asked her a question if it could be my eyes are dry and maybe was there a lens better suited? She just kind of ignored me and she kept changing numbers in the computer gave me a pair of trials and sent me away. Think it's funny she didn't even want to look at my eyes? Bring out machine? Maybe determine my vision with the contacts I'm now wearing. I'll never go back. I do not have eye insurance so I thought it would be ok to go to Visionworks since it was reasonably priced. I waited for a long time to see the Dr. and when I got in there she seemed very rushed and as though she was not paying much attention to finding the right prescription for me. Everything still felt blurry. I don't know much about the process of figuring out a prescription for someone so I let it go in hopes when I got my new glasses that everything would be great and my glasses strong enough for my terrible vision. I ordered my glasses from a very reliable third party with the prescription given by the Dr. at vision works. My eyes still felt very blurry. I wanted to give it a few days for my eyes to adjust. It has been months now and my eyes are still very blurry. I bought a cheap pair of reading glasses to simply put over my regular glasses to see if that would help. And wouldn't you know it. They do. Everything is clearer. That says to me. She didn't get my prescription correct and now it will be on my dime. Needless to say. I WILL NOT be going back there. I have been a customer of Empire Vision in Kingston, for over 20 years. I have previously received excellent service, fair prices, and quality products. Unfortunately, things are different these days. New staffing, procedures, and policies that have adversely affected the quality of service, along with a name change to VisionWorks. The new lenses that I recently ordered were not made properly, their arrival and installation took many days longer than normal. To make matters worse, the lenses were not made properly, so they had to be re-ordered. And even though they promised to call me, when my second set of new lenses came in to replace the first set of new lenses that were made incorrectly, they failed to do so. This is all too bad, as there are several employees there that have given their best over the years. Unfortunately, I think that I may be looking around for some other options in the future. read more
