Everyone during my visit at this location was great. Professional and attentive to my needs. Particularly the two people I dealt with the most, Dr. Fester, who did a thorough & competent examination, and Jaime, who did the adjustment/fitting and proper placement of the magnification lenses on my bifocals. My glasses have been missing a screw for over a month now, and my optometrist has been unable to fix them. It was recommend by Her to take a visit to vision works. Claiming that the staff is super friendly and they should be more than able to fix my glasses. the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with a big smile and she immediately asked another member to try and help me. The gentleman (I didn't catch his name) was super helpful and was willing to help. It took him 5 minutes tops to fix my glasses. Why is there no human to speak with when calling this store??? So frustrating to call & only have Amelia who is the AI computer to "talk with"!!! Customer service when scheduling or having to reschedule in my case, is horrible. How do any of your older customers feel? I'm 55 & find it extremely frustrating. I scheduled by phone & had email confirmation. A couple days later, I checked my email & noticed one of the 2 appts I'd made, so my bf & I could go the same day, as I live more than 30 minutes away, had been rescheduled to the day before. One of the two virtual Doctors was rude. The staff ignored important information when I provided it. While ordering the glasses, they marked lenses with a focal point without notifying me of what was going on; so, it was marked wrong. They marked the focal points before adjusting the frames; so, they were marked even further wrong. The glasses are by far the worst glasses that I have gotten in 30 years. After my insurance, they still cost $500. They were a complete rip off. I will never return to that location. I will likely never buy from the company again. read more

I had my first appointment here today and have never had such a shit experience at an eye Dr. First I waited for 20 minutes in the front waiting room until I was called to get the first few tests done. Took 3 minutes. The. I was sat in a different waiting area for another 30 minutes! Actual exam itself didn't even take 10 minutes. Most of my time was spent waiting when I had a scheduled appointment at that. Then they let everyone pick out and hoard any and all model glasses to walk around with. 2 different people had at least 10 to 12 frames in each of there trays...needless to say it felt like my options were that much more limited. All in all I was there 2 hours... ridiculous. If anyone else took my insurance I would not be going back. read more

I had a 1020 appointment. I came in and a lady asked me my name and what I was there for. I took a seat and waited 40 minutes. I went back up to the counter and asked how long it would be and a different lady went back to check. They then said I never checked in. The lady who did the primary eye test told me I didn't check in. I told her I did give my name to the person at the desk. She said well you didnt check in. Went back out to the desk to ask how long it would be and this lady asked me who checked me in. I pointed to the lady and she said she does t check people in. Apparently you have to know who checks in and giving your name and appointment type to an employer at the desk doesn't constitute checking in. The rudeness because of their mistake was the worst part. Unprofessional and rude staff. Avoid this place. read more

I paid $600 the Queensbury NY for a pair of glasses and making them they screwed up the prescription. I waited 2 week for the first pair. They examined them and admitted they were negligently made. Honestly, I stopped going to vision works years ago because of the lousy experiences I had had over the years but I was trying to get my kids in for appointments before school started and even though they were booked Josh worked with Mark (the GM) and Dr Kahn stayed late (over telehealth) to help get out family seen. And seriously everyone was so kind, thoughtful, and professional. I was totally blown away. I had no idea that this branch of Vision Works had stepped it up like this. This will be my last appt. with this company. Last pair my prescription was incorrect, left eyeglass was blurry. Tried calling to make an appt., can't get anyone to pickup, had to go on-line and that was a joke. Plus my insurance only pays for certain frames and they have it set up now you have to scout the whole place for the frame that qualifies my insurance. This company is horrible. read more

Made appointment 6 weeks in advance for in network eye exam. Get there and the staff is completely ignorant to the fact they are an in network provider. After wasting 30 minutes trying to explain, we left. To be sure, I called BCBS and sure enough they are in network and exam is covered. The insurance customer service rep called the office and they failed to pickup the phone. I made an appointment online and then found I needed to alter it. I spent 20 minutes trying to get to an actual person, no luck. I tried online, no luck, just an endless loop that wouldn't allow me to cancel appointment. When I called the business directly, I got an automated answer service that again looped unhelpfully and would not send me to an actual person. Finally did an online chat and cancelled that way but could not confirm and print the cancellation. I would never call this business again. Very poor website and scheduling system online. And since you can't speak to an actual person on the phone I'm not sure how you deal with these people in a meaningful way. God forbid you have a question that needs an answer. My son came in to get an eye exam the dr that did his exam was rude and mean to him I kept my mouth shut and left after only to have my son complain about how mean the dr was to him. When we came to pick up his glasses since it was his first time and me being g his parent thought I could go with him to try them out. No the girl asked me to step outside and they would do his fitting without a legal guardian because she didn't want to do a profile on me. Not happy about that being my kid is a minor. read more

We stopped in late in the day on Monday just to look at frames for my teen daughter. I knew it was close to closing time so I didn't have any expectations of ordering glasses. Well, the manager was so helpful and let us take our time, even staying late so we could get the order in. The glasses were ready THE NEXT DAY. Oh, and he also gave me a discount! Within the past month I've had 5 grandchildren seen at Visionworks. All 5 were treated respectfully and patiently. They were all seen within 5 minutes of their scheduled appointments, exams were thorough, results explained in detail, and glasses ordered and fitted within a reasonable period of time. For the 7 year old receiving his first pair of glasses, extra time and care was spent explaining the care & cleaning of glasses. Staff were all pleasant and very helpful. The Dr (Jennifer) was wonderful. But given the lack of communication and confusion among staff I will no longer be a customer of visionworks. I was told conflicting information multiple times only to find out that after a month from my initial appointment my contacts were never ordered. I spoke to the manager and the corporate number and was explained that the events were my misunderstanding. Maybe so. But after 4 phone calls and four visits in the last month I would have thought the opportunity to clarify things would have come up. At this point I no longer trust this location to effectively communicate and when it comes to my health understanding is a necessity. read more

Every single time I went here or called I encountered rude inconsiderate staff. It's like they're READY AND WAITING for an argument. I've used 4 optometrists over the years bc of changes in insurance and moving, I would go back to any of them but not this place!!! Can't wait for the generic "give us more info so we can investigate" reply, um no, your staff is horrible, you already know that, and I would pay 3x your prices to simply avoid walking in your store, which btw, people are more cheerful at the DMV. Today they told me they would extend my exam for three months bc I need contacts but they were so rude I told her to shove it I'll wait a few weeks and go to a real ophthalmologist. Called Visionworks to get a quote on new lenses for my current frame. Both of which I had purchased from them prior to this call. They also have my script for new lenses. So, I get somebody on the phone who said they can't give me any kind of an estimate on the phone and I have to come in. Every time I go into that place I have to wait 30 minutes to ask a questions. I am done. I told her that I will find somebody else to fill my prescription. She then asked me if my script was on file and she would have somebody call me back. I told her to forget it. She should have asked me that in the first place. I have had more problems with this place and the wait time is horrific. I don't have time for it. My husband got new glasses 2 weeks ago, he paid extra for transition lenses. He timed how long it took for them to go back to normal after coming in from outside, took 15 minutes. Went to Empire vision and told them about them, my husband was told it takes 2-3 minutes to go back to normal. My husband was told they would have to change the color, for them to lighten up quicker. The receptionist was very rude to him, told him what you see on tv only happens on tv. So what they advertise is false, so BEWARE OF EMPIRE VISION go else where. read more

Today my daughter had an eye exam and we were very impressed by the changes at this establishment. We have been going here for years but sometimes did not have the best experiences. Everyone now is extremely helpful! We were assisted every step of the way picking out my daughter's new frames and had a pleasant time. There is a great selection to choose from. We are on our 4th visit for my daughter to get he contacts...exam, "contact class", a follow up appointment we showed up that wasn't in the system, and now the reschedule for that appointment. Been sitting here an hour and my daughter still hasn't been seen and when that's done we have to order contacts and glasses. I may as well plan on camping here for the rest of the day. Plus, we will have to make a 5th trip to pick up the items we order! There has to be a more efficient way to run this place. I absolutely will never set foot in Visionworks again. I found them extremely unprofessional (the front end staff). I had been a loyal patient for over 10 years, even brought my children there - Then they got too big and it did not feel personal anymore. They rush you through and do not take their time with you. I have one child that wanted Vera Bradley glasses - the same pair she had. I was told they no longer sold them. Well, that was strike one - they moved them from the children's glasses to the adults and charged more money for the frame. I had "fun" with that... Strike 2 - my daughter found a pair of glasses that she fell in love with - problem was they were too big for her. The optician never said anything. The glasses came in and because they did not fit well on her face & due to her astigmatism - she couldn't see out of the glasses, her vision was blurry. They said she will need another eye exam - so they did that and said that her initial exam was not correct. Got the glasses remade - guess what - still not right - why - because the glasses were too big for her... That was strike 3... I wound up taking her elsewhere and was told her initial exam was correct but because the glasses were too big for her - she would never be able to see correctly out of them because they would never sit correctly on her face.
