I never had glasses in my life before except cheaters for reading. But they give me a headache so I called Pearle and made an appointment. Turns out I have stigmatisms and need glasses that focus the light like a football. The doctor told me I should get glasses for far also and I said I only need them for near. But he showed me how I could see far with the stigmas corrected and wow, now I see so well I can't believe it. I never knew I could see so sharp. They are called progressive and they fit so well and the people were so great there. I walked out smiling and got my glasses around a week later. Great place! read more

A couple of years ago I visited Pearle Vision with the intention of buying a pair of glasses. While there, I underwent an eye exam and then proceeded to purchase a pair of designer frames with lenses. During the fitting, I underwent all the required measurements to insure that my eyeglasses fit properly, including a pupillary measurement (distance from one pupil to the other.) Sadly, I never used the glasses much as I was constantly taking them off as I only needed them when reading things far away (for example, I might be working on my laptop and im fine reading what's on my screen, but if I want to read the program listings on my TV, I had to put my glasses on - but then remove them if I went back to working on my computer). Fast forward two years later and I visit the location again to get an eye exam so that I can get progressive lenses. They tell me the ophthalmologist can't see me for at least six weeks so I go elsewhere for the eye exam and then return to get my glasses. At Pearle, progressive lenses start at $450 (online you can get progressive lenses with all the upgrades for $200 - try LensDirect.com or Lensabl). My new insurance doesn't cover progressive lenses, only bifocal or single vision glasses so I choose to get a pair fully covered by my insurance. This marked my second pair of frames and lenses from Pearle within a few years. I decided to keep my old frames and send them to an online retailer for a set of progressive lenses at $200 rather than paying $450+ at Pearle. However, in order for them to fit right, I need to get my pupillary measurement which is part of my medical records. Pearle refused to provide it to me as they claim it is a store measurement and not something I am entitled to - I could understand not giving it to someone just walking in off the street with no intention of buying a pair of glasses there yet I had purchased two complete pair of glasses plus an eye exam from Pearle. I think it's a scumbag move and I will never patronize Pearle Vision ever again. read more

Front service is good ,the doctor visit was extremely impersonal and very fast , questions were answered with unclear answers. Also frame I wanted wasn't available ,very small selection for medicaid . To get an appointment took several months. read more

I went to PearlVision in Queensbury because I needed an appointment quickly, and they had an opening. They went far beyond anything I expected. First I received a very thorough eye exam. Since I wear progressive lenses, I am very particular about the type of lens I receive, i was skeptical that they could accommodate me. They were able to read the type of lens I had, but the code didn't look exactly correct. Without being asked, they called my previous optometrist 200 miles away and confirmed that they had found the correct lens. They took measurements for my new frames with the new lenses. When the lenses came in, I went in and the glasses were perfectly adjusted. I walked out with my new glasses in less than 5 minutes. Oh...and after I had ordered the lenses and left the store, they discovered that my insurance company would pay more than they had originally quoted. They credited my credit card for the difference and called to let me know. I can't say enough good things about the Queensbury staff. read more

I Was on vacation in Lake George during Labor Day weekend when my contact ripped- I called around and was met with some pretty rude people claiming they couldn't help me (more like couldn't bother) with my situation- until I called this place. A lady named Michelle answered and immediately helped me with such efficiency and service I had to post a review. After getting my eye doctor to fax over the right info, she had everything waiting and ready for me at the door! Even let me put them in right then and there. Great experience!!!
