People hire a workers' compensation attorney because they are already struggling with the workers' comp system and need someone to advocate for them, help them obtain medical care, and guide them through a process that is extremely difficult to navigate alone. Unfortunately, I do not feel that I have received that kind of representation. I signed with this firm approximately a year ago, and I honestly feel as though very little has changed. I have gone to multiple medical appointments where doctors have continued to document that I need further care, yet I am still fighting to obtain basic treatment. One of the most frustrating examples has been an MRI that was requested in June. It is now August, approaching September, and I still do not have the MRI completed. The scheduling process has involved One Call, and I continue to be offered locations more than an hour away from my home as though that is a reasonable solution. Meanwhile, I am still dealing with the same workers' compensation adjuster I had before hiring an attorney and many of the same problems obtaining care that caused me to seek representation in the first place. What has been even more disappointing is the lack of communication. At the beginning of July, I sent three lengthy and very important emails detailing concerns about my case and asking specific questions that I needed my attorneys to explain. Those emails contained information that was extremely important to me. I did not receive substantive answers to those questions. As a client, that leaves me feeling ignored and unsupported. When you are injured, in pain, trying to obtain medical treatment, and depending on your attorneys to help you navigate workers' compensation, communication should not feel like another battle. My personal injury attorney recommended this firm, and that recommendation was a major reason I decided to sign with them. Had I found them on my own and known beforehand what my experience would be, I would have made a different decision. At this point, I genuinely regret choosing this firm. In my experience, I have not seen the benefit of having workers' compensation representation when I am still fighting many of the same battles over medical care that I was fighting before I had an attorney.

When I awoke I learned that my left Femur, Tibia, Fibula, and Calcaneus were broke. My sternum broke which damaged my heart. Ribs 5-7 broke (left side) My nose and jaw were broken and I had 2 strokes. I had just picked up my 6 year old Son from school, he died instantly. This accident wrecked my life. I was in chronic pain, I limped and my brain wasn't working like before. I had a Paralegal apply for SSA on my behalf and of course got denied the first time. I appealed and got a letter stating they are sticking with their first decision. A disabled Friend told me I needed to get a Lawyer asap and he knew a good one. Keith called me and was pleasant, and you could tell he was passionate about what he does for a living. He does not appreciate the government making life difficult for people trying to get disability. He is a good man and his heart is in the right place. He explained what I needed to do and filed the paperwork for me asap. He kept in constant contact and communicated clearly what I needed to do and what he was going to do. He was much more like a Friend than a Lawyer. With his help I got disability. I recommend you have Keith help you. Don't start the process yourself like I did, that will just waste time and makes the process more difficult for Keith. Have him help you immediately. I assure you that you won't be disappointed. He knows exactly what to do and is confident. NOW GO GET WHAT IS OWED TO YOU!!!!

It is a slow process but Mr. Schwebs has notified me of doctor appointments, what to expect and made sure everything is on course. I had a different attorney for a W/C claim ten years before I met Mr. Schwebs that finally got settled. That attorney was a liar and a crook. And I do mean liar and crook. I found out too late. One of my workmates suggested I talk with Mr. Schwebs about my medical issues and I have not once regretted having him represent me. Does he take time? Yes, because he appears to be thorough. Would I have him represent me again if I was still working? Absolutely yes. His staff is great too, Nancy answers my questions and if she can't, she talks with Mr. Schwebs and gets back to me with an answer quickly.

A week or so after our meeting, I noticed enough red flags that I decided our attorney/client relationship wasn't going to work. I spoke with the secretary, since the attorney was unavailable to take my call. I thanked her for their time, but explained that I did not wish to proceed. My file was never opened because I had not provided them with all of my personal information. She was polite in response and I figured no harm, no foul. A couple of days later, I received a very unnecessary and harassing letter from the attorney himself, who was obviously upset over my decision. Though the undertone of the letter was rude and unprofessional, I couldn't help but laugh at the ridiculous number of grammatical errors....double periods, absence of commas, unnecessary commas, improper capitalization, and the list goes on. He wasn't even consistent in spelling my name correctly. If this is an example of his work product and poor temperament, thank God I found another attorney!
